It’s so crazy to me how some people will do their best to defend replacing workers with AI, and often they’re the same people complaining that no one’s making kids anymore. Like, why would anyone do that? You want to unemploy the parents/potential parents, so how will they sustain them? And once the children grow up, how will they sustain themselves if you want to substitute all human labor with humans? It’s important to note these people are usually also against a universal basic income or something similiar, so yeah they still expect people to make a living somehow. You have to pick a side, either you’re pro-AI and anti-natalist, or you want people to make more kids and you don’t want AI

I heard so many people complaining about Will’s coming out scene and. I saw it yesterday. I thought it was gonna be something horrible. Come on, it wasn’t even nearly as cringe or badly written as people make it out to be. People compare it to Robin’s coming out scene, but they are two entirely different things; Robin was already in a vulnerable state in that moment, and with only one person. Will made a conscious choice before hand to tell that to everyone, of course it’s going to be a different thing

Sometimes I wish I wasn't asexual, or at least not sex repulsed, simply cause to some people if I have any kind of mental health struggle it MUST be because I don't want to do that

I suppose this could be an unpopular opinion, but I'm not against the idea of "masculine/feminine energy" in witchcraft and spirituality. I understand people associate it with a negative gender division and binary, but it's really just a name given to a type of energy. People can be more action-driven, logical and protective, and others more relation-driven, intuitive and empathetic; and if you believe things carry energy, then some things carry those energies too.

What is wrong is thinking only men have "masculine" energy and only women have "feminine" energy, that one should follow a spiritual path based on their AGAB to be truly satisfied, or that the two things are completely separate and can't present themselves in a spectrum.

I suppose coming up with a different name for it could be a good way to separate this kind of energy from a negative gender bias, but until such names don't come up and aren't widely used, I don't think it's bad to refer to it like this.

I’m late to the discussion, but I saw the httyd live action movie some time ago and it came back to mind since I’m seeing a lot of httyd content lately, so I wanted to talk about the diversity thing.

I usually don’t really like it, not cause of diversity itself, but cause it’s clear companies often do it to make bad quality content and get a lot of attention either by appealing to a larger amount of people and/or by causing scandal among racists mostly.

I feel like https was not the case. Maybe they DID do it for clout, I mean, it wouldn’t be weird. But clearly it wasn’t just a shortcut for attention, the movie was actually so good and true to the original.

Secondly, I really liked the “explanation” they gave for it in the great hall. Explanations for diversity are not needed, but I think it’s good when it becomes part of the story, rather than just a random element, and what they did made perfect sense. Yeah, in-universe people go around the world to kill dragons. It does make sense that Berk is made up of people who got there for that reason, especially since, at the beginning of the movie, Hiccup identifies dragons as something that distinguishes Berk from other places in the world. Yeah, none of this was ever mentioned in the original, but the point is it doesn’t change things on a fundamental level. If anything it adds more depth, and I think that’s a very good thing.
