Coffee Shop

Summary: Requested by anonymous. Yoongi’s favorite coffee shop has always been the ideal place to work on his music. Of course, it was just his luck for his favorite spot to be taken.

A/N: Hi anon, sorry it took so long ;; wow it’s been forever since you requested this I’m so so sorry! You didn’t specify a gender so I left it gender neutral! I hope it’s okay ;3; I had so much trouble writing this. I wrote it many different times and would trash it and start again. Again, I’m so so sorry for taking so long!

Yoongi had always loved the tiny cafe, often staying until the early hours of the morning working on music. He loved everything about the cafe. From the gentle smell of coffee to the ambient music, to the kind workers, everything was just right for him. He especially loved the hours, the cafe was open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. It was perfect for a college student like him who worked from late at night until early morning.

It was a Monday when he had strolled into the cafe, laptop in tow. He smiled slightly at the barista, Jimin, who he had befriended during his constant visits. He nodded as Jimin asked if he wanted the usual before turning to sit in his usual spot. He was startled to see that someone else had already claimed the spot, settled in behind their laptop screen with headphones on. He awkwardly fumbled over his feet, having already taken a step forward, before stopping and looking around the cafe. What were the chances of someone sitting in his favorite, and usually abandoned, spot at 1AM on a Monday? Turning and heading back to the counter, he stood and waited there for his coffee in hopes that the person would leave by the time it was finished.

As Jimin handed Yoongi his coffee, Yoongi leaned over the counter to whisper quickly, “How long have they been here?”

“They just got here a bit before you,” Jimin laughed, “Are you missing the window seat already?”

Yoongi pouted a bit, insisting he was just used to being the only person there. Jimin scoffed a “sure” before returning to cleaning behind the counter.

“Shoo, shoo,” Jimin laughed, “There are more than enough chairs in the cafe for you to sit in.”

“You don’t get it,” Yoongi whined quietly, “It’s my lucky spot. I always make my best music sitting there.”

“Sounds like superstition to me. Just sit somewhere, already!” Jimin teased, waving his hand dismissively. Yoongi groaned, sitting himself on the opposite side of the cafe and booting up his laptop. As he slipped his headphones on, he saw the stranger stand up and he immediately perked up. His excitement quickly faded as they walked up to the counter to order. Jimin glanced Yoongi’s way, sticking his tongue out teasingly before turning around to make the drink. Yoongi huffed slightly, deciding to focus on his assignment.

Half an hour passed without so much as a hint of inspiration. Yoongi groaned, lifting his cup to take another drink of coffee. He was disappointed to find the cup empty, frowning and tossing it into the trash can next to his table. He pouted, replaying what he had so far on repeat as he tried his hardest to think of what to do next. He weighed his options, trash the song and start over or continue to try to add onto this one. The assignment was due by Friday, and he was starting to worry.

A coffee cup caught Yoongi’s attention from the corner of his eye, and he smiled happily, reaching to accept it.

“Thanks Jimin,” he sighed gratefully, only to be surprised by a laugh that wasn’t Jimin’s.

“Sorry, not Jimin,” they laughed and Yoongi looked up from his chair to find the stranger who had stolen his spot. Yoongi immediately scolded himself for thinking so childishly, it was a seat in a public cafe that didn’t belong to anyone. “Your friend asked me to bring this to you, he said you might want some help?” the stranger said gently, placing the coffee in front of Yoongi and pulling up a chair.

“Help with what?” Yoongi asked warily. What was Jimin up to sending them over here?

“We’re both music majors according to Jimin. He said you had an assignment you were struggling on for a while now, and I wanted to know if you needed any help?” The way the stranger spoke calmed Yoongi, their voice was soothing and smooth. They smiled kindly at him, sending a warm feeling throughout his chest.

“I’m not really sure how you could help,” Yoongi murmured, handing his headphones to them reluctantly and pressing play. He watched anxiously as they listened intently, head bobbing slightly. As the music neared the end, Yoongi felt his heart drop. It was near impossible for him to read their expressions. Did they hate it? Was it horrible?

As the song ended, they handed him his headphones and smiled brightly.

“It’s really good! Are you just unsure how to continue it?”

“Thanks,” he muttered shyly, “I, well, yeah.”

“Hmm, well there’s a number of ways to continue! You could repeat the first part and tweak it slightly or change tempo,” they suggested happily. Yoongi nodded, mind still blank.

“Your friend said you work best at the window seat where I’m at. That it’s your lucky charm or something. Do you want to sit there?” the stranger offered suddenly. Yoongi nodded, his face heating up in embarrassment. Jimin would pay when he got his hands on him.

“Well, come on!” they smiled, standing and waving Yoongi over. Yoongi quickly packed his things up, hurrying to his favorite spot. He couldn’t push away the feeling of embarrassment. How childish he must seem, worrying over a silly little seat. The stranger didn’t seem to mind. They smiled happily, moving their stuff to the other side of the table.

“This spot really is nice though,” they said, “You can see the street all lit up and the radio station is always so busy. Is that what inspires you? Seeing the radio station?”

Yoongi nodded shyly, taking a sip of his coffee before pulling out his laptop and headphones once more. He glanced at the stranger’s laptop, looking away quickly when they turned to look at him.

“Are you curious about what I’m working on?” they laughed, holding out their headphones. Yoongi nodded, taking the headphones and listening intently once the music started. As the song ended and he handed the headphones back, he found himself wondering why he was so quiet all of a sudden. It was unlike him to be so shy, especially when he was in his comfort zone.

“What did you think?” they asked, nudging his foot gently under the table. He jumped slightly before smiling and assuring them he loved it.

They both sat in silence for a while, turning their attention on their music. Jimin would come by with more drinks as they finished theirs, winking at Yoongi as he walked away. Yoongi found himself in a comfortable silence with the stranger, each working separately but somehow feeling less lonely. He shook the thought from his head, embarrassed that he just thought something so sappy. As the song began filling out and taking shape, Yoongi’s chest swelled with happiness. Yes, this was what inspiration could do! As he finished the song, he saved all his progress and closed his laptop with a smile. His face heated up as he met the stranger’s eyes, their head leaning on their hand as they looked at him.

“You look really happy when you’re working. Sorry, you must think I’m a weirdo,” they laughed, grabbing their already packed bag and standing to leave. “I’ll be on my way now! It was nice to listen to your music! Thank you for your feedback!”

They turned to leave, Yoongi quickly standing and calling “Wait!” a little too loudly for the quiet setting of the cafe. He could practically feel the embarrassment radiating from him but he continued his sentence as they turned to him expectantly.

“Um, I never caught your name,” he spat out quickly, looking at his feet.

“(Y/N). And yours?”

“Yoongi. Um, could we possibly meet again?” Yoongi felt like shrinking into himself and disappearing.

“Of course!” (Y/N) smiled, patting their pockets and producing their phone. They handed it to Yoongi and he entered his number with shaky hands.

“I have to go now! I’ll text you soon okay?” (Y/N) grinned, waving as they left. Yoongi waved sheepishly, sitting back down and slamming his forehead against the table. How embarrassing.

“Looks like somebody made a friend,” Jimin teased, his shift finally over. He ruffled Yoongi’s hair playfully, laughing at the flustered older boy. Yoongi’s phone chimed, signalling a text message.

“I had fun! Let’s meet on different circumstances next time!” it read. Yoongi  pushed his face back into the table bashfully as his face heated up once more.

“Dead,” Yoongi mumbled.

“Sorry, what?”

“You’re so dead.”

Rap Monster: Namjoon would most likely tease you, laughing as he nudged you. “I told you that you would need a jacket,” he’d laugh, shrugging his off. He would wrap you up in his jacket, teasing you the whole time. He would pretend he wasn’t cold and if you pointed out that he was shivering, he’d probably whine that he could take it because he’s “a tough guy”. He’d be super cute about the whole situation and would sacrifice his own comfort for yours. But eventually he’d probably want to stop by a store to buy another coat.

Jin: Seokjin is such a mother I swear. He’d have an extra jacket for you hidden somewhere and would whip it out like a magician. He would scold you and bring up the fact that he told you to bring a jacket. He’d put the jacket on you and place a kiss on your forehead, saying how he couldn’t possibly let his little cutie be cold. He would even have some heat packs for your pockets and maybe even a scarf. He’d kiss your nose after putting the scarf on you, warming your nose a little bit for just a split second. He’d grin and suggest heading into a shop to warm up. He’d be super cute about the whole situation and super prepared.

Suga: Yoongi would probably jokingly whine and complain that it was so cold. He’d have already given you his jacket, his arms wrapped tightly around his body. He’d have his super large scarf on and he’d wrap half around your neck and the other half around his neck, the two of you not being able to get too far from each other (but it’s not like he minded at all). Eventually he’d get tired of being cold and would turn the jacket backwards and cover the both of you with it. Your left arm would be in one sleeve and his right arm in the other as you both share the jacket. He’d laugh a lot after that, saying how you two must look silly.

JHope: Hoseok would not waste a second shrugging off his coat. He’d be bundled up underneath and super warm, assuring you that he was fine with just his sweater. He’d drape the coat over your shoulders, giggling about how he already warmed it up for you. He’d steer the two of you into a coffee shop so you could warm up before continuing to wherever the two of you were headed. He’d buy a coffee for you to warm your hands up with when you have to leave. He’d find you absolutely adorable wrapped up in his jacket.

Jimin: This dork would probably pull you into his arms and wrap his jacket around you, forcing you two to waddle as you walk. You would be in front of Jimin, your arms crossed and your back against his chest as he zipped the front of the jacket around you, his arms through the sleeves. He’d hug you as you walked, nuzzling into your neck or shoulder. You would hear him mumbling how cute you look and constantly asking if you were warm enough yet. He’d probably pull his phone out to take a picture of the two of you, and you’d struggle to take the phone from him but unfortunately couldn’t move due to the jacket being zipped over your arms. He’d giggle a lot at that, sending lots of pictures to the boys.

V: Taehyung would worry but he’d instantly pull you into a hug and wrap his jacket around you. He’d ask constantly if you were warm enough yet. He would direct you into a warm store, buying a coat, beanie, mittens, and scarf (yes he’d go overboard). He would make sure to go to another store and buy a warm drink before continuing the date/errand. He would smile a lot at you, saying your new clothes really suited you. He’d place a little kiss on your cheek, saying he was glad you could continue your date. He’d giggle as you walked hand in hand down the street.

Jungkook: He would probably have forgotten his jacket as well. This dork would want to go home and would be whining a bit but he would toughen up quickly and tug your arm as he pointed to a store. He would lead you into it and buy matching jackets for you two (probably pouting a bit because it took a toll on his wallet). Nonetheless he would be happy once he saw your smiling face when he told you that you could continue your date now.

Muse (Suga)

College au Yoongi has me all sorts of attracted. I wrote this in half an hour so excuse any grammatical or spelling errors, I have yet to proof read. Inspiration

He was an upperclassman, an older guy. There was no way he would notice you, at least that’s what you thought. However his eye was always on you, his attention somehow always drifting to you. You, the shy underclassman who had inspired him to change his major from a forced, stable occupation to his dream. You had become his muse, his inspiration. It had happened unintentionally, on accident. A simple piece of advice had changed his entire world and you had no idea how much it meant to him.

“Well, if it’s not something you want to do then don’t do it. If you want to make music, then go for it! It’s your dream, so chase it,” you had said. The party was raving on inside, music blaring through the windows. You hadn’t planned on going to the party, but showed up last minute. Spotting a drunkenly ill Yoongi, you had taken him outside to get some fresh air. Once you two were alone, he drunkenly spilled his worries to you. He remembered how embarrassed he had felt as you sat there in silence, but soon the words of wisdom had left your lips, engraving themselves in his mind. Yes, you were right. He couldn’t live a life someone else had planned for him. He was going to make music, he was going to follow his dream. He had thanked you as he got up to leave, his hand gently ruffling your hair. It was a small show of affection, but for him it was so much.

He had taken those words to heart and it had changed everything. He changed his major from accounting to music composition and had quit his part time job as an office assistant. He began working at a coffee shop, relishing in the high pay and few hours. His laptop was cleared of all forms of accounting and soon music software filled the desktop. His days were filled with less fatigued sighs and more content ones. He woke up one morning, feeling adventurous and dyed his black hair a bright orange color. Yoongi felt free, for once in charge of his own life. His parents had called on more than one occasion warning him that the music industry wasn’t stable and he should find a more realistic goal. He had ignored them, and it only gave him more of a reason to prove everyone wrong. He was going to achieve his dream, he had to. For himself, for you.

Autumn transitioned to winter and soon enough winter melted to spring. Soon, the year would be over and he would be transferring to another college with an exceptional music program. You knew this from the word going around, and you couldn’t help but feel upset. You told yourself that it didn’t matter, you only ever had one conversation with the boy. As spring wore on, Yoongi found himself both looking forward to and dreading the day he would transfer. He wouldn’t see you around campus anymore, smiling slightly as music filtered through your headphones. The thought made him both sad and frustrated. Why couldn’t he just tell you how much you meant to him? He thought to himself how silly he must seem, one conversation and he’s smitten. With the end of the term being two weeks away, Yoongi found himself locked up in his apartment, composing a song with you in mind. He would have to tell you before he left, he had promised himself. However, as the last day ended and his possessions were boxed and sent to his new apartment, he still couldn’t muster up the courage to do anything.

Once fall returned, the regret hung over his head like a storm cloud. He continued his job at the coffee shop, the owner allowing him to play some of his compositions on the speakers. Some days he found himself taking the bus to his old campus in hopes of finding you and explaining everything. Instead he rode the bus past the campus, never once getting off.

On a chance day, however, you walked into the coffee shop with a group of friends. His heart hammered and he felt his hands grow clammy. How could you effect him so badly when you had only spoken once? As he took your order, he could hardly keep his voice steady. You had a bright smile on your face. you hadn’t seen him for months and seeing him healthy made you ecstatic. As you and your friends had finished your orders and were ready to leave, his heart began hammering in his chest. He had to do it now, he knew he had to. As you began to head out the door, he rushed from his spot behind the counter and called your name.

“I’ve been wanting to thank you for so long,” he said hurriedly, “Thank you, for inspiring me to follow my dream.”

He stood in front of you, bashfully scratching at the back of his neck. Peeking at you from behind his glasses, he smiled and his cheeks flushed slightly.

“Could we possibly get to know each other better? I’d like to get to know my muse.”

Can I have a bts reaction to their gf (who is Filipino) coming back from the Philippines and bringing them Betamax (which is grilled chicken blood on a stick) and telling them to eat it, but she secretly doesn't like it. //I really think this is gross, and I will never eat that...only if my family forces me to eat it: why is it disrespectful to not eat a lot of food with Filipinos!// Thank you!

Rap Monster: Namjoon is excited when you say you have a gift from him, but he wasn’t expecting chicken blood. Not at all what he had in mind. Upon your insistence, he tries it. If he dislikes it, he tries to play it off, thinking it’s your favorite food. If he likes it, he whines about you not liking it.

Jin: Seokjin is actually quite excited about trying your “favorite” food! He would probably be a little scared but he’s up for trying anything! He would try it after a bit of pumping himself up and he would probably scream after he ate it. Depending on whether he liked it or not, he’d either scream in joy or he’d scream and rush for a drink. Once he found out you didn’t actually like it he’d probably try to make you take a bite as revenge for tricking him.

Suga: Yoongi would take a bite and insist you eat the rest whether he liked it or not because he’s the type to want you to enjoy your favorite food (even if it really isn’t your favorite). He’d be a little embarrassed that you didn’t like it and had tricked him but he’d finish the entire serving (even if he didn’t like it) because you brought it back for him.

JHope: There’s no way Hoseok wouldn’t eat the entire serving. He’d eat it all simply because you got it for him and it’s your favorite. He wouldn’t let you know if he disliked it, even after you say you don’t like it but it would have taken him forever to even take a single bite. He’d be screaming about it, going to take a bite and then backing out at the last moment.

Jimin: He would be a little scared but would trust you completely and take a huge bite. If he likes it he would happily eat it all, forgetting to offer you some. If he didn’t like it  he’d probably feel bad and pretend he likes it because he thinks it’s your favorite food and he doesn’t want to offend you. After finding out you don’t like it, he would just pout because you had managed to trick him.

V: Taehyung would be a little scared to try it. He’d probably do a taste test, barely licking it before chomping into it. He’d either regret this instantly and spit it out or much happily thanking you for his gift. He’d probably laugh a lot once he found out you had tricked him, finding it cute how mischievous you are.

Jungkook: He wouldn’t trust you at all. He would find it fishy and insist you take a bite first. Depending on whether you can fake it or not, he’d try it. I’m so sorry I took so long to do this! Please forgive me!

Rap Monster/Namjoon: He would probably be scared but delighted. He’s quite clumsy so he’d be extra careful around you and would constantly asking his mother what’s best for you and the baby. He would be buying lots of cute clothing for the baby and would be running names by you often. He’d be one of those who is concerned with the development of the baby and would be talking to them or playing music for them because he heard it’s supposed to help with development. He sometimes belts out children’s songs to your belly and he likes to have one sided conversations with the baby in your tummy as if it’s a full grown person. what a dork

Jin/Seokjin: He would be super excited and would instantly be wanting to choose names and set up the nursery. He would be planning ahead and would be telling family. You could rely on him to buy all the necessities such as diapers, formula, baby food, furniture, and baby proofing the home the further along you got into your pregnancy. He would go with you to all appointments, and would spoil you endlessly and indulge you in the cravings that come later into your pregnancy. He bought endless parenting books and always makes sure you’re eating healthy and taking your vitamins.

Suga/Yoongi: He would be surprised and a little scared. He isn’t really overly affectionate and would probably worry that he wouldn’t be the dad you wanted him to be. Other than that , he worries about your health and quietly takes care of you (secretly making sure you’re eating healthily and taking your prenatal vitamins) and secretly buys more diapers, formula, etc to add to the stash because he knows there is never going to be enough. He does research to make sure little things that go wrong are okay, like are you supposed to be this nauseous, are you supposed to be eating this much, how much stress is too much for the baby and such but you won’t ever get him to admit it. 

JHope/Hoseok: He would be so excited and would probably start gushing I love you’s. He’d want to start shopping for necessities immediately and would already be spoiling you. You could be in your first trimester but he’s already constantly screaming “No don’t do that, it’s bad for the baby! Let me do it!” He’s be doting and overly excited. He would probably have bought a special outfit for the baby and would always be looking at it and fixing it up and positioning it in the crib and would be so eager for the baby to come. He even has the baby’s first shoes picked out. When the baby kicks and he can see it he tells you that your baby is already his favorite little dancer. 

Jimin: He would be giggly and excited, hands immediately flying to your stomach whether there was a slight baby bump or not. He would be overly protective of you and would worry immensely about whether you were okay or not when he was gone. He would constantly be humming lullabies and rubbing your stomach, always imagining the future out loud for you and the baby to hear. He would be kind of clueless though and you would have to teach him lots of things about actually caring for an infant before the baby actually came.

V/Taehyung: He would probably be shocked into silence at first but once he processes what you said, he would not shut up. He would constantly be asking questions like “Does it feel weird that there is a human being inside of you? I mean there’s a little person in there just chilling.” He’d be excited nonetheless, always telling you how much he loves babies and he’s going to love his so much more. He would be the most practical clothing shopper out of the bunch, only buying comfortable clothing and many many bibs. He’d be in touch constantly with his mom, always asking her “What can I do now? What else will we need? Is there anything else we need to prepare for?” 

Jungkook: He would be happy but a little scared. He’d worry about his maturity for one and also he’d worry about whether or not he’d be able to take care of you during your pregnancy. He’d probably handle your pregnancy weirdly if I’m being honest, he’d probably be that guy who gets sympathy pregnancy symptoms. When you experienced cramps, back pain, mood swings, food cravings, morning sickness, exhaustion, irritability, fainting, ETC he’d 100% experience it as well. He’d probably be playfully teased by his family because his sympathy symptoms lasted longer than yours. He’d be doting though, always understanding and making sure you’re doing well. He’d also talk to the baby, hoping they would recognize his voice when they’re born.

I am going on an official hiatus! I'm taking 2 eight-week college classes and am so so busy with them! I thought I would have more time once classes actually started but it's quite the opposite.
