sometimes love is just doing things without having to be asked, making a cup of tea for someone as they’re working, packing an extra lunch because you know they’re rushed for time. Love doesn’t have to be expressed in grand gestures, to me, the little gestures of love matter more.
Find a soul that doesn’t lose appreciation once they are used to you.
How to treat a good man
He should be treasured. He should be held in the highest esteem and respect.
Give him attention. Listen to him when he speaks. Listen just as closely when he is silent.
Ask him what he needs from you. What you can do for him.
Give him your time, your presence, your courtesy.
If he has never given any reason for you to doubt him, then don’t LOOK for things to doubt.
Be his pleasure. Don’t try to cause him pain.
Don’t test him, to see if he is “just like all the others”. Had an ex that hurt you? Yeah, we all have. He probably has too. Don’t treat him like its the fault of all men.
Treat him like a king.
Put effort into him.
Show him you’re worthy of how he treats you.
Give him a damned break.
Be at His side.
Give him reason to smile. To laugh. To feel good.
Take care of him.
If he’s a good man, and you want to be with him, be a good woman.
Edit - this entire post is partly in response to the mass of “treat women like queen’s!!!!” posts i see. So fed up of the one sided attitude that i had to try balance it out. Women and men deserve exactly the same treatment and effort.
“Women and men deserve exactly the same treatment and effort.” - Exactly what I’m constantly preaching. Nice to feel some support finally 🙂

Also:
Be honest with him. Be faithful and loyal to him.
Communicate. He has a right to know what’s going on in your head. He deserves a chance to understand you.
Forgive him when He did something wrong. Don’t punish him for fuckups, but help him to forgive himself. He feels bad enough already.
Be proud of him, and tell him that you are. He needs that just as much as you do.
Be supportive to him in his goals, hobbies, interests, job.
Protect him from others/negative external influences, but don’t think you would have to protect him from yourself. He loves you as you are, he wants all of you, including all your quirks, shortcomings and difficult traits. And he can deal with them. Don’t take anything away from him, only because you don’t like it about yourself.
Show interest in him. Ask him about his dreams in the morning and about his day in the evening.
Make him tea/coffee, bake him bread/cake, cook him dinner. Believe me, that’s how the strongest bonds are tied (:
Tell and show him how much you need him. Don’t be afraid to appear, to be vulnerable. There’s no shame in needing the one you love, and a good man thrives in feeling needed. And needs you just as much.
Be the kind of woman that makes people think highly of him, that makes everybody think ‘If this woman loves him, he must be a hell of a man.’
Always this. Equal treatment and……because he’s worth it. You reap what you sow.
Look after each other.

Crucial Ingredients for a Great Relationship
1. Shared sense of humour; lots of laughter and fun
2. Little gestures of thoughtfulness
3. Personal space (there needs to be separateness in your togetherness)
4. Having the ability to spend hours together (simply doing routine or humdrum things)
5. Having “fairness and respect” rules in place for when you argue or fight
6. Having an attraction that goes beyond the physical; liking each other, and your personality
7. Believing that your partner has what it takes to live the life they want to live – believing in them always, especially when they’re down
8. Having a relationship that’s built on trust, openness, honesty and faithfulness.
“Don’t be afraid to lose people. Be afraid of losing yourself by trying to please everyone around you.”
