In case you all have been wondering where Iâve been, Iâm not dead, I swear!
I just havenât really produced anything Iâve felt proud of in the past several months, but I figure I need to change that and have been trying to ease myself back into drawing regularly.
Would you all prefer if I posted more sketches/unrefined pieces, or stick to mainly gallery-worthy stuff between any Charathon round submissions that may come up?

Hereâs a character thatâs really interesting design-wise, and way the heck out of my comfort zone to boot. How was I gonna draw this fellow?
Well, I had mistaken the feathers dangling from Glasswalkerâs helmet extension as knives at first glance, so I imagined him just plucking a throwing knife from the helmet for when things get dicey.
I still wound up drawing the feathers proper and not knives, though. Had to fix that mistake, but I was too committed to the pose by then to change.

Sure enough, I am fated to draw bunnies. Lots of âem. How can I resist? But geez, I gotta work on my coloring technique when pressed for time. Just 30 minutes in this case, too.

Oh, hey, itâs one of those rare Charathon rounds that I managed to squeeze a speedpaint in! Still need lots of work on my painting technique, though.
Normally, that ringâs worn around the neck, but I couldnât help but be a bit... creative with it. Maybe itâs a frisbee or a plate now? You decide!
Also, @rakurobit is one of my biggest inspirations kemono-wise, so I really wanted to push myself for this one.
Todayâs @charathon intermission prompt called for a pig, and what better pig to draw than @gatodelfuturoâs Mina?
Itâs about time I get around to drawing this cute little porker! Heck, she might even get her own Charathon round some day.

Well, what can I say, I love Enne Radlaide, and so do my friends. Small wonder why I draw her the most, isnât it?
She could use some love too, given what happened to the one man she loved in her life; without spoiling too much, itâs why Kyvel doesnât even know who his father is for most of the story. Perhaps sheâll find it again...

Third round impressions: âOH NO, SHEâS CUTE!â immediately followed by âOH NO, THIS IS WAY OUT OF MY COMFORT ZONE!â Charathons are good practice like that.
I figured Koidrakeâs lovely cephalopod gal needed something dynamic to show off the flow in that tentacle hair. I took too much time on the sketch, figuring out a pose as I went, and no longer had enough left to color, though.
Still, Iâd totally try drawing her again without the pressure of a one-hour time limit! She deserves to show her colors, heh.

Radlaide Mother's Day by IntrepidIllusionaire
I got a Cintiq Companion Hybrid a month ago, wanted to put Clover Paint to the test and see if I could finish something entirely in it rather than my usual approach of doodling on a Windows machine with CLIP STUDIO PAINT or Paint Tool SAI. Mother's Day was coming up, so a cute Enne/Kyvel thing made sense at the time... and then I put it off for weeks, not actually finishing it 'til the very end of the month. Figures.
Ildra Mavol by IntrepidIllusionaire
I realized that I haven't drawn Ildra in a long while and needed to correct that, this time with some binary/aliased brush practice. Ildra's a close relative to Tevka (NOT his daughter, though) and looked up to him greatly until, one day, Tevka disappeared. She's pretty pissed about that and blames Enne for it, escalating the whole Radlaide/Mavol conflict even further. She is strangely fascinated with and particularly merciful toward Kyvel despite the latter's blatant Radlaide lineage, however. As for why? Well, that'd be spoilers, though I'm sure you'll see it coming from miles away once the story gets told. That sword should also be evidence enough that she's a skilled fencer. I have to thank @blade-rabbit greatly for designing it in an earlier commission, as the wing guarding the hilt looks suitably elegant and exotic for a weapon she'd wield!
