Taddison

10: 'What is your OC's favorite trait of their partner's? What's their partner's favorite trait of theirs?'

Trep's favorite trait of Addison's is that he is always willing to go head to head with whoever, if he has to. Ofc this is Trep, so it's even more specific in that he likes that Addison will butt heads with *him* but it's still an endearing trait all over. It was one of the first things he started appreciating about Addison - that he would throw down with an Impostor if it meant helping his crew.

Addison's favorite trait of Trep's is that he's a hot alien. And I'm kind of not kidding? Fkgng I mean, there is plenty not related to looks that Addison very much appreciates about Trep but I keep coming back to his first thoughts being about. Touching Trep. Soft hair and tentacles and sharp teeth. The way he cuddles, gets all soft and limp when he's comfortable - what, I think Addison deserves to be a little shallow sometimes.

11: 'What's one thing about your OC's partner that annoys them? What's one thing about your OC that annoys their partner? How do they deal with that?'

This one is probably pretty obvious. One thing about Trep that annoys Addison is that he has very loose and often non-existant morals. That what ethics and sympathy he has only really extend to Addison and people Addison likes. This is something thags definitely *improved* over time, but over all Trep is very selfish in this way and it can be problematic.

One thing about Addison that annoys Trep is almost exactly the opposite - and it's the same thing he loves about him. He will go toe to toe with anyone, take on anything, run himself ragged to the bone - and there are times when it's a fine line between strength and recklessness. And trying to keep Addison from self-destructing or running himself to death is a full time job, sometimes.

13: 'What's one thing about your OC's partner that soothes your OC? What's one thing about your OC that soothes their partner?'

I think the answer is the same for them both, sorry if that seems like a cop-out - but it's that the other is *there.*

It takes him time to get there, but eventually Trep comes to understand that Addison isn't going to leave him. Isn't going to abandon him. If he needs a warm body to cuddle or someone to listen to him rant or someone to come hunting with him - Addison will be there. And he can trust that if for any reason Addison *cant* be there, he has a good reason for it and will be honest with Trep about why.

Similarly, Addison knows that Trep has his back without hesitation. That even in the hardest moments when it feels like the whole world is on his shoulders, and everything is going wrong, Addison never has to face it alone because Trep is there.

Hazing 10: 'What is your OC's favorite trait of their partner's? What's their partner's favorite trait of theirs?'

Well, Hazel's favorite physical trait of Fleece's is their eyes - he hates being stared at but he loves looking in there so what are you gonna do? This wasn't always true and developed in time - and the reason why he likes their eyes is really because of his favorite over all trait about them which is that they pay attention to him. When their eyes are on him that's because they're *looking* at him, usually staring even, and once Hazel gets past the discomfort he could really just lose himself in there ("there" being the sensation of being *known* and seen)

Fleece's favorite trait of Hazel's? Funny idiot guy. Will tell off anything and everything - consequences be damned. Gets knocked down and gets right back up again. His absolute confidence in everything he says and does is so misguided and undeserved and it's funny as hell to see. Hazel takes himself so, so seriously but he's literally the only one who does. Also makes him a fun chewtoy. Bite and squeeze him but he just bounces right back. Enrichment toy.

It's WIP Wednesday sooo

Here's this. I honestly don't know if this will ever be completed, but I like this little snippet. So I'm gonna share it.

Content warning for a little bit of body horror type stuff? It's not meant to be that, but you know, it's unusual.

As Trep wrapped his hands around the egg and pulled it away from its fellows, he found his hearts in his throat. It seemed small, fragile - and he was sure it would be better off in literally anyone else's hands. There was no one else to care for it, though - at least, no one else who could actually care for its every need like Trep could. Given the chance, undoubtedly Addison would try - but if Trep didn't know much about his own species' younglings, then Addison would only know less. 

Trep could hear the subtle heartbeat beneath the shell, could practically feel blood coursing through the veins of the hatchling inside. It wouldn't last, though, without appropriate warmth. The humans had tried, Trep would give them that, but their setup was wholly inadequate. His people had specialized beds for this - mechanical nests meant to maintain exactly the right temperature for eggs. Adjusting, even, to the presence of multiple. 

Trep didn't have that, of course. But he had something. The thought came to him almost unbidden, and with a frown he glanced down at himself. Carefully, he peeled some of himself back and away - leaving a muscle-lined cavity in his side. He settled the egg inside the cavity - a number of small and gentle tendrils wrapped around the egg and held it secure, even as Trep allowed his skin to fill in the space around it. 

What was left was an egg safely pocketed inside of his body - warm and secure - and not a single sign of its presence visible. Trep ran a hand down the smooth skin of his side, took an experimental breath, and then nodded. 

He hadn't realized that was a thing he could do - but, somehow, it felt right. He took a step, shook slightly in place - and was satisfied when the egg seemed to stay just as secure as ever. That taken care of, Trep turned his attention back to the rest. Duds, or dead already - he couldn't be sure. There was no hatchlings to be saved from them, regardless - and so this made for the perfect scene. 

With one strike of a particularly large tentacle, Trep smashed the rest. He shook away the left over shell and innards - watched as it splattered about the small lab. As soon as it was done, he left - stepped carefully through the hallways and, taking extra care with his cargo, slipped into the first vent he found.

*sneakily sticks a 'Kick Me' sign to Keet's back*

With a glint, Trep makes to move almost immediately - but is quickly stopped by Addison grabbing his arm with a hiss.

Addison: Don't even think about it.

Trep: Fine, then I won't think. I'll just do it -

Meanwhile, it's Skitch who manages to get in a well-placed thwap with an elongated, extra arm aimed right at Keet's back.

Keet: What the hell?!

Skitch: 🙏 Sorry! Sorry. I saw a bug. ✋

Keet: *with a grumble* Then just fucking tell me next time. Stars. *He walks off, still none-the-wiser about his new sign.*

Trep: That could have been me, Addison, and you ruined it.

Addison: It would have led to a fight and that's the last thing we need around here.

Make You & Your Business: Priority

Ever feel like your goals are just out of reach? Or, you might be putting more focus on others rather than yourself?

ONE: It may be because you have lofty goals that lack specificity.

“I want to be rich!” “I want to be happy!” “I want to be successful!” Those are great goals, but they’re vague and leave too much to chance. While having faith is important, it’s only 50% needed in trying to achieve your goals.

The other 50%: What are you going to DO to obtain them?

Write it out: Bullet point the steps to get the ball rolling

Build a Map: Brainstorm smaller routes to achieve your big ideas

Create a Vision Board: Cut out the closest visual representations of exactly what you want to obtain, paste them on a small poster board and place them somewhere that you pass by every single day

Most importantly: BE SPECIFIC on how you want to accomplish them. And don’t let failure discourage you… failure is life’s greatest teacher, second only to repetition.

TWO: Focusing on solving other people’s issues is simple for you to do because you are an outsider. You lack their mental restrictions holding them back, therefore, you being objective is effortless and helps shed light on things from a new perspective.

While it is appreciated when you do help, it can be easy to focus on them rather than yourself. Sometimes, it can result in the altering of your creative mindset and ambition. 

Always give guidance...when asked, but don’t take it upon yourself to try to be Superman to everyone.

Help as much as you can without giving your whole self away. Remember you’re just as important as the one you’re helping.

We all need each other...that’s why we have therapists, motivational speakers, preachers, group meetups, friends, and family. Lean on each other and work on your goals at the same time.
