In the US you are solely responsible for your own safety. Police are not obligated to protect you.

Every year in the US there are between 100K and 370K incidents of self defense involving a firearm.

Carrying a gun is a human right thus depriving someone of this rights is a violation of basic human rights.

Mass shooting are frequently prevented by legally armed citizens

“gun free zones” are where the majority of mass shootings take place.

The act of “not allowing” people to carry guns is an act of totalitarianism and would give the government and law enforcement more power over the populace.

Allowing people legal access to firearms empowers people who are oppressed due to their race, or sexual orientation/gender identity. 

Gun control is a form of systematic racism(source 1, 2)

There are parts of the US where carrying a firearms is a necessity to survive animal attacks.

Carrying guns is necessary to hunting and hunting is necessary to protecting the environment as well as feeding poor families/people.

Firearms ownership is a natural right.

Gun control doesn’t work

People carrying guns isn’t related to an increase in murders

Per gun, guns are rarely used in homicides.

The main positive is that at bare minimum you can assure yourself that you’ll have somewhat of a chance if someone else is threatening you with a weapon, particularly people of authority. Not that the government is corrupt or anything (that’s complete sarcasm if you didn’t catch that) but dictators like Hitler and Stalin started out by taking guns away from people. If our government does the same, who’s to stop them from gunning down people that disagree with them? This might seem outlandish to some people, but it’s happened in the past and you’re being ignorant if you think it can’t happen in the US. “Oh but you have no reason to have an automatic weapons.” Law enforcement has automatic weapons. Someone comes at you with a fully automatic machine gun and you have a pistol, you’re blown. The only form of gun control that is necessary is mental screenings before the purchase of a gun. Mass shootings dont happen because of guns, mass shootings happen because crazy people have guns.

Monarch butterfly tattoo. Since getting my tattoo, I have been asked several times the meaning behind it. Before butterflies are butterflies, they are caterpillars. When they are about to change they start to feel sick. The caterpillar will wrap itself in a cocoon, thinking it is dying. Then the caterpillar becomes a butterfly and eats the cocoon. It spreads its beautiful wings and can fly. When the caterpillar thought its world was over, it wasn’t. It become a butterfly. It’s a message to troop on through life’s obstacles. Because after you get through them, your life will be better and more beautiful than before.

LIKE OKAY THOUGH can I explain why this is exceedingly brilliant??  Because when anti-depressants work right, that’s what they DO.  They don’t make you happy or emotionless or unhealthy in any way, they make you FUNCTIONAL.  They make it so that a depressed person who can barely get out of bed can start to support themselves again and more importantly, start to THINK for themselves again without the permeating presence of depression.

Depression is a cyclical disease, that tells you to think a certain way, and, because you’re depressed, you generally believe it, and then things get worse and worse.  The ONLY thing anti-depressants do is to STOP that cycle in its tracks!!  Which is something to be ecstatic about and celebrated, even if you don’t realize it at the time, because when you’re depressed, getting out of bed is climbing Mount Everest.  Antidepressants help stop that cycle so that one day soon, getting out of bed can JUST be getting out of bed.  They don’t even expedite the recovery process in most cases, they just make recovery POSSIBLE IN THE FIRST PLACE.  So this little guy is portrayed with a fuckton more accuracy than I ever expected from a commercial.
