Yeah well I just got banned out of the blue for no reason. My account was over 12 years old. I didnt sext anyone or being rude, I asked for clarifications on email, they didnt reply me back lol...

I'm sorry! It seems to be happening frequently now and I doubt you will get any reply, seems like an automated thing. I think I saw someone saying that they had their account blocked due to logging in too many times, don't know if there's any truth in that.

Tbh I made a second account where I bookmarked my friends from my main account, just in case... (my account is a couple of years older than yours was!)

I actually made a friend the second day I played than I got banned! I didn't say anything mean, inappropriate, or creepy. It says my account is "suspended for suspicious activities" I make friends in real life but this is fun because you get to meet some genuine people in other countries. Well not all the time. Anyways I sent 3 different emails on different days yet the moderators don't do anything. I explained my situation that I didn't say anything offensive. Know any mods that can help?

That sucks, I'm sorry. :/ But yeah, I seem to see more users who seem innocuous getting suspended. I have a dear friend who's in the same situation right now, I am sure he didn't send any wrong message to anyone. It could be something 'internal', something to do with how you use the website rather than getting reported by other users? Like, bookmarking too many people, contacting too many people in a short time? I have no idea...

And to be honest, this website never gave me the impression that it's taken good care of by moderators. I never had any direct contact with any mods, sorry.

Hope it got resolved in the meantime, or that you at least don't give up on the site!

The way this person was talking was just off to me... like the really detailed descriptions of things and also the sudden jumps to accusations when I pointed out things that were strange to me??

Yes, I do agree that there are some real friendships (or couples) that started on IP, and slowly blossomed. Not all the users on IP are scammers/spammers, and some of them are genuine, but that is just my opinion. Sorry if I gave you the wrong idea.

I don’t know if this post will be accepted but I just want to express my feelings about what happened to my account I was online and then I got logged out, when I tried to log in again it said “Your account was suspended by a moderator” What the…? I didn’t do anything wrong at all! I used Interpals for what is is in reality (friendhsips, language exchange), I used my account for almost 3 years and then out of nowhere they just banned me, no warnings and I didn’t even got an email notifying that my account is banned. I was starting to get really cool friendships and then out of sudden they just got lost which really hurts me. I contacted support but every day I lose hope in that they will reply, and if they will they will just tell me that my account is suspended for breaking the terms of service and won’t be unbanned (without telling me exactly what rule did I break). Investigating I have seen that this has happened to many other people, they are using interpals normally and then their account is banned for no reason. I really wonder what or who is banning accounts for no reason? And it looks like this has happened for so many years and they haven’t solved this. Either is a poorly made algorythm that is causing this or someone who like to ban profiles just for fun, and ironically this site is still full of perverts and many other kinds of creeps and they are still there creeping out people freely without getting banned or not even a warning.

I am very sorry about what happened to you. It sounds scary, to be booted out without knowing why and losing all contacts. I wonder if it was some user pressing the Report button at random and the moderator automatically banning without any checks? I have no idea, never encountered it before.

To answer your question, I don't think I'm willing to go on IP anymore I rather meet friends in real life, and I refuse to view profiles that are fake or just promoting other stuff. This Tumblr may be dead, compared to before when it was full of posts from IP users, but at least it was fun seing those exchanges.

In a way, I’m sorry that you feel that way because I am still convinced that it is possible to build real friendships on IP. Then again, I get your point.

This is Wes (again), back after a long absence due to work and so on. I wonder if IP has changed since then, or is it still chock full of scammers, creepy people and accounts promoting other websites?

I am not on IP that much these days, but I imagine that it’s still the same place. I personally don’t get a lot of sh*t like that because I don’t give them much chance, to begin with, and I don’t like engaging (hence why this tumblr is kinda dead).

Aren’t you willing to try it out again and see for yourself?

Wes here. Regarding this post from JUNE 26, 2013 (11:40 AM) (unfortunately I can't include any links in questions), I have received a few of these kind of messages myself. I suspect those profiles were created solely to promote those websites.

Yeah, I still see similar messages, or worse, profiles that are either made on purpose or that are hacked/taken over and modified to promote suck links.
