I can hardly believe that it is nearing the end of 2023. This has been a tough year for my family. We had hoped to move out of North Carolina and closer to my sister and her family. I promised my super supportive husband I would share this with my fellow homeschool moms: 13 years ago, Tanya put her education on hold so we could start our family. We now have 3 children, aged 13, 10, and 4. Tanya has been homeschooling them for the past 4 years, in addition to running our household, managing our finances, and keeping everyone fed and happy. A few months ago, Tanya started taking classes again so she can finish her degree. So now, in addition to the homeschooling and taking care of 3 kids (sometimes 4 if she counts me...), she is rocking straight A's taking 3 classes part-time. Her goal is to earn a bachelor's degree in Art Education so she can foster and encourage the love of art in children. Next June, she has the amazing opportunity to go to France with her Art History class to study art at the Louvre, Musee D'orsay, and other places in Paris. I am so proud of her, of what she has done and what she is now doing! Please help me encourage and support Tanya as she pursues her dreams! Hey there friends, it's been awhile. I'm sorry I've been so quiet. After our first 2 weeks back "in school", my classes started up and we haven't stopped since. . The first 3 pictures show some more fun we had with Ocean Life, including slime. Which, might I add, will be the LAST time I suggest making slime to go with our unit. Lol . Pic #4 is there because I wanted to show you how A set up a bed that Rocket will sleep on while we are in our school space after he plays. ❤ . Also while I was gone, we celebrated our new teenager. 😳 Not quite sure how that happened... . Sadly, in picture 6, we were saying goodbye to a beloved pet. My mom's dog had to be put down due to advanced cancer and little B took it pretty hard. 💔 . The last 3 pictures are from this morning. Little B excitedly started Tball today. Our fun, all-together topic this month: Ocean Life 🐋🐬🐟🦈🐙 The girls wanted to learn more about the ocean animals and this is little B's first "formal" introduction to it. 🌊 Today we reviewed the ocean zones from last week and today little B made his own jars of each layer of the ocean. Whew, we're home! . For the first time ever, and after numerous times of being asked up, we went to visit friends in Virginia. This was to see the friend my husband has had since Kindergarten. (Our trips are usually with/to family.) So this was definitely new territory for me. . We celebrated the 4th together, they took us to a cool science museum in Richmond, and they took us to DC. . The Museum of Natural History had an Insect World Exhibit that A loved. And they had a butterfly hall to walk through where we all had butterflies land on us. And A was taking all sorts of pictures with her disposable camera. I love seeing her get excited about things. ❤ . In the American History Museum was what excited K. She couldn't wait to see Dorothy's Ruby Slippers. She watched Josh Gates' Expedition Unknown about them. And then the mystery of the stolen pair from the Judy Garland museum in her hometown. 😊 . Loved all of the views of the Washington Monument! I couldn't believe we were so close. (Totally geeking out the whole time. Lol) . We finished up DC at the Pi Pizza place where we were hot and tired. (You can see little B laying on A at the restaurant. ) Really good pizza, I definitely recommend it. . Before leaving Sunday, we headed to the po for a bit. Where it turns out Mr Introvert and I got sunburned. 🤷♀️ At least it was our last day and not our first, right? . We had a lot of fun. It is nice to be home in my own space though. I feel like I could sleep for a week to recuperate from our crazy month. 😴 . Such a full day. . We woke up today with nothing on our schedule, if you can believe that! So we decided to run with it and have a fun day. . We spent most of the day enjoying the Museum of Life and Science. A held the most butterflies of all our visits, and shared them with her siblings. . And it was so hot that we had ice cream, played in the mist, and little B even took his shoes off and played in the creek in attempts to cool down. . I love days like these.
