In Marxist theory, are people who (say they) are unable to work and survive off of e-begging the proletariat?
No, not in classical Marxist theory, because AIUI, they would be part of the "lumpenproletariat" — the:
decayed roués with dubious means of subsistence and of dubious origin, alongside ruined and adventurous offshoots of the bourgeoisie, were vagabonds, discharged soldiers, discharged jailbirds, escaped galley slaves, swindlers, mountebanks, lazzaroni, pickpockets, tricksters, gamblers, maquereaux [pimps], brothel keepers, porters, literati, organ grinders, ragpickers, knife grinders, tinkers, beggars — in short, the whole indefinite, disintegrated mass, thrown hither and thither, which the French call la bohème
to quote Marx in chapter five of The Eighteenth Brumaire of Louis Bonaparte (1852). Again, AIUI, he considered this class to have no real revolutionary potential, because even beyond how many were outright criminal scum, their desperate scramble for day-to-day survival, and its competitive nature as they fought for the scraps, left them unable to form class consciousness or class solidarity, and simply too easy to buy off; and thus, to quote chapter one of the Communist Manifesto:
The “dangerous class”, [lumpenproletariat] the social scum, that passively rotting mass thrown off by the lowest layers of the old society, may, here and there, be swept into the movement by a proletarian revolution; its conditions of life, however, prepare it far more for the part of a bribed tool of reactionary intrigue.
I cannot speak to more contemporary Marxist theory, though.
Footnote — to elaborate on a couple of items in that list:
A mountebank — from the Italian phrase monta in banco, which literally translates to "mount on a bench" — is a boastful quack, historically a fast-talking swindler who would climb onto a bench or platform in a public space to hawk "snake oil" potions to the crowd.
Lazzaroni — historically, these were the poorest class of people in Naples, the street-dwelling homeless beggars (the term historically deriving from an obsolete lazzaro "leper," itself from the name Lazarus/Eleazar, referring to the sore-afflicted beggar of that name in the parable in Luke chapter 16)
Literati — my understanding is that Marx meant here (over)educated "declassed" intellectuals, writers and journalists who had fallen out of the traditional bourgeois for lack of stable employment, and thus likely to become ideological hustlers whose writing skills and intellectual services were for sale to the highest bidder. (This one is particularly relevant when it comes to monetizing online content, and "content creators" chasing what gets you the most engagement, the biggest "boost" from the algorithms, and ultimately the most donations/subscriptions/etc., doesn't it?)
It’s funny how the longest best referenced answer came from the least leftist poster. Anyways, this utter disconnect between Marxist theory and modern leftist reality seems very much an example of the whole ideological parasitization thing I have mentioned previously.
How did a movement of for laboring tenants turn into a movement for upper class tenured landlords and professional dependents?
It didn't "turn into" that, it always was from minute one. Marx was a professional dependent. He just claimed "labor" the same way he claimed to be "materialist."
Sighhhhhh
I love thinking about “lost episode” creepypastas from a production pipeline POV. I wanna be the guy who gets handed a script about a main character brutally dying with no actual plot and is like “Yeah sure. Greenlighted.”
“Everyone who watches this cursed Simpsons episode dies immediately afterwards” The storyboarder died on the spot right after they finished their work. Every single animator dies after they finish their cut, the studio just has to keep hiring new animators to replace the dead ones. They lost too much money already they HAVE to finish the episode that kills people.
I dunno, at this point it just sounds like you're feeding employees to the creepypasta.
fake Goncharov fans don’t even realize that Scorsese did NOT direct the 1973 cult classic. he was executive producer. 🤦♀️
The actual director is Natted JWHJ0715, and they deserve credit!!!
It's Matteo JWHJ0715!!!!! Very talented director (italian mother, license plate father)
okay so here's the thing about 50,000 people vs 1 ceo of a utility company
technofascist surveillance state actually the have fun with ai was just them selling it to the public ☺️
Y'all wouldn't know fascism if it screamed "death to Israel" in your ear. You wanna blame someone, blame the governments that are funneling all the incentives they possibly can, in the form of our money, towards this bubble.
"This might happen, therefore, it happened and had only a single cause and that cause was an intentional act of fascism."
The third-party company that was selling electricity to the energy utility that served the California part of Lake Tahoe said it would not re-up its contract and the utility needed to find a new provider. "There is a lot of industrial development up in the Reno area we get way more from serving, which includes data centers," was one of the multiple reasons given for doing that. The cost and difficulty of power transmission across northern Nevada was another.
This is a normal thing. California and Nevada are two different states with different utilities, and Nevada said "we're redirecting to business in Nevada that need electricity." They gave California ample time to find a new provider of electricity.
Of course, the state of California will not let them find a new source of electricity in time because it is California and hates the concept of functional infrastructure.

“You’re just a paranoid reactionary, you just think Communists are everywhere because you’re such a paranoid reactionary who loves the far right so much!”
jesus christ they are everywhere and never ever ever ever stop and all of them are exactly the same and the rules are always different for them!
When? When do I get to notice it’s happening? When can I point to and notice an obviously repeating event, and not be told “No, you’re insane, that’s not real, you’re just crazy because of how bad I imagine your politics are!”
seriously
If Light were able to touch grass and learn about communism
jesus herbert walker christ
I mean obviously selective murder by itself doesn’t solve everything, there is still lots of other work to do. But like, you HAVE to acknowledge that a significant amount of actual real-world harm is being caused right now by a few extremely powerful capitalists, and would be disrupted if they died.
Communism is based entirely in fact. Solidarity fucking works, as you can see every time people cooperate to rebuild after a major ecological disaster, as you can see every time a union fights for worker’s rights and wins, as you would be able to see in the wild if the CIA didn’t spend the entire seventies and eighties preventing real communist government from ever taking hold anywhere!
And I do hold that the murder would not completely be necessary, to be entirely clear – it’s not like death is the inherent only source of karma that must be dished out to the oppressors – but you know what it does do? It disrupts. It’s a shortcut to revolution.
if you saw this kind of shit about any other ideology with even half the regularity you saw it about communism you would think it was a fucking high priority to talk about why it’s become so acceptable!
Think about it this way: For all that people openly claim white supremacy is the absolute norm, it is treated also as a thing of utter disgust. But communism is not just treated by so many as solidarity 2.0 (which it isn’t) and the one true moral cause (which it also isn’t), but also as actively harmless because only the good people want it…
While at the same time the most vocal proponents FOR it talk about how good it would be for them to go around murdering people and disrupting the whole of human civilisation entirely as part of their personal agenda.
The underpinnings of their arguments are not just discussed calmly and openly in college campuses, but the precepts behind it are treated as the standards by which entire social philosophies are discussed in academic settings. It is normalized to such a degree that practically every progressive politician has abandoned the concept of equality for the concept of ‘equity’, which openly treats individual differences or strengths as something to be destroyed for the purposes of a ‘parity’ which itself has not been proven to be favorable. For ANYONE. And which also has the bizzare fucking standard of holding that one group having a SUPERIOR position to another is proper equality.
But pointing all this out is somehow ‘reactionary’ even with it being true, because…? What? Because admitting these things means that you’re not actually the underdog in this situation? I’m sorry but let’s be really fucking honest if you’re even using the term ‘reactionary’ to respond to someone critiquing communism you are, in fact, another of the communists and we all have to admit your position is not the unbiased and neutral one here.
"but the text never explicitly stated it!!!" hey, so that's actually what they tried to teach you in those english classes you barely passed 😁
An example of why one should use the Oxford comma.
come play trampolines with me :)
People on Internet need to learn what loanwords are. I'm begging you all to look it up. People are not mispronouncing words from other languages when using them in english sentences, adapting words to fit with your language phonemes is normal, it's not disrespectful, the same word when put in an other language will be pronounced differently, it work like that with every languages. The only cases where it can be disrespectful is with names.
Its so funny to me that ed explicitly has an "unnatural" hair and eye colour in FMAB because everyone else with those genetics died centuries ago but no one rly mentions it like. They took a look at this angry kid with weird yellow eyes and went "yep. Not touching that". Which fair, he was so busy doing more insane shit that it was easy to forget he also looks weird
Ed’s too busy fucking shit up and running around for people to really get a chance to stare at him
