Asuka looked up. “Sorry? For what?”

Asuka’s face lit up at that. “Really?! That’s great!” He paused, looking embarrassed. “Oh, sorry about that! I’ll stop!” He rubbed at his eyes to stop the tears, and his smile came back. “Stego will be so happy to hear you’re back! He’s really missed you!”

Mikoto glanced back to Asuka out of the corner of his eyes when the other mentioned Stego. “He did, didn’t he?” A small smile tugged on the corner of the doctor’s lips while thinking of his other partner. He already knew that from the time when Mikoto-chan had sneaked over from Dino Earth for a short visit. But both had promised each other not to tell anyone about that or the fact that Asuka and Mahoro had named their child after him. So Mikoto played along for the girl’s sake, though tried to change to course of the conversation a little. “How are Mahoro and your daughter?”

Asuka nodded. "He really did! He and Trikera were really sad for a while, and they still kind of are, but I'm sure we can all come on a trip here together!" He laughed a little. "I might have to leave Stego here though... He probably won't want to come back with me." His smile grew even brighter as Mikoto mentioned his family. "They're wonderful! The rebuilding of Dino Earth is going really well, and Mikoto is growing up well, and going to school..." He trailed off as he realized that he had never actually told Mikoto that he had named his daughter after him.

Asuka sniffed and pulled back, rubbing his eyes lightly. “I’m sorry, I just… I didn’t think I would get to see you again.” He beamed at Mikoto as he dropped his arm. “I’m really glad I got to.” His face fell slightly as he thought of something. “Wait, is this only a temporary thing again? Are you going to have to go soon?”

Mikoto stared a little at Asuka, still not believing how the other man had reacted upon seeing him. “It’s not temporary.” He pushed some of his hair behind his ear as he turned to look away from the other man. “I’m not going anywhere anytime soon, so stop it with the tears.” Really, that was just embarrassing.

Asuka's face lit up at that. "Really?! That's great!" He paused, looking embarrassed. "Oh, sorry about that! I'll stop!" He rubbed at his eyes to stop the tears, and his smile came back. "Stego will be so happy to hear you're back! He's really missed you!"

Asuka openly stared for a moment, taking a hesitant step forward. “Mikoto-san… You’re really back?” He took a few more hesitant steps before a smile broke across his face, and he ran to Mikoto to hug him. “I’m so happy to see you!” The Ryujin was crying as he hugged his teammate tightly, so grateful that he got to see the one person he thought he wouldn’t be able see again when he came here.

"Yes." Was all Mikoto got out before he was tackle hugged by Asuka. That was too close, the doctor thought as he froze to the spot. Out of the corner of his eyes he could see the other cry and was more confused than ever. Asuka was crying because he was happy to see him? "It’s… it’s okay." Mikoto murmured and reached up with his right hand and hesitantly patted Asuka on the back to calm him down while feeling so very out of his element at the moment.

Asuka froze as he faintly heard the click of the brace, lowering the harmonica from his lips and reaching for the sword at his side. Then he shook his head. He was on Another Earth now. He didn’t need to be so jumpy. Still, he turned around, his eyes scanning the area for the source of the noise. Then his eyes spotted the familiar figure, and widened. The harmonica slipped from his hand, falling back against his chest as he scrambled to his feet. “Mikoto-san?”

Ah, he had been discovered. Mikoto raised an eyebrow when he saw Asuka scrambling to his feet, feeling just as surprised as the oterh man looked that moment. “Hello.” He gave with a small bow, feeling unsure how to act around the man. It had been the same when he had run into Ryouga, but also with Mahoro and Mikoto-chan. If he was honest, it were all of his teammates, no the people he had started to view as his family. Their parting had been too sudden and now he was somewhat nervous, not quite certain how to behave, but also unsure how the others would react to him after all this time.

Asuka openly stared for a moment, taking a hesitant step forward. "Mikoto-san... You're really back?" He took a few more hesitant steps before a smile broke across his face, and he ran to Mikoto to hug him. "I'm so happy to see you!" The Ryujin was crying as he hugged his teammate tightly, so grateful that he got to see the one person he thought he wouldn't be able see again when he came here.

A little farther up the river, Asuka was perched on some rocks, his Dino Harp at his lips. He had needed a break from the city, having come back to it after years of just being on Dino Earth, and it was a little overwhelming. In an attempt to calm himself, he was playing his harmonica, unaware of anyone approaching.

There he was, Asuka. So, his ears hadn’t been playing tricks on him. Mikoto tried to stay hidden for the moment, having decided to simply watch the other for now. Though, it wasn’t long before he heard the metallic click of his brace. Top had heard it too then. Well, that was little surprising. Question was who Asuka would discover first, the doctor or his partner who was probably already on his way there.

He was down by the riverbank when he heard it, the sound of a harmonica. At first, he didn’t think too much on it, but then he heard a familiar melody, a melody he hadn’t heard in years. Getting up from where he sat on the ground, he listened to the sound for several moments to make sure his ears weren’t playing tricks on him. But when he noticed that he wasn’t hallucinating, he decided to investigate where the sound came from and if the source was really who he thought it was. It had to be close-by…

Mahoro’s shoulders relaxed a little and she resumed her work on the curry. “I see…I just…” She sighed, “I didn’t want to go and then have them all bringing up things we’ve put behind us.” It was a selfish feeling, she knew, but she wanted it to be something fun and it wouldn’t be at all if everyone they met asked about her mistakes.

Asuka got up and walked up behind her, lightly massaging her shoulders. “I’m sure they wont. Besides, everyone has things in their past I’m sure they’d rather not talk about. It’ll be fine, I’m sure.”

Mahoro smiled and leaned back against Asuka lightly, stirring the pot on the stove. “You’re probably right… I worry too much.”

Asuka smiled as well. "You're perfect just the way you are, Mahoro. Anyone who doesn't like you is wrong." He tried to think of a better way to phrase it, but couldn't. "Sorry, I guess that sounds pretty silly."

"I’ve missed you too. I also miss the Bakryuu as well. Tyranno was fun to hang out with."

"Tyranno misses you too, you know. Do you want me to tell him anything when I go back?"

"Hmm just that I miss him and wish he would visit me and Ryou-chan soon."

"Well, he might be coming by soon, Mai-chan. We might bring a few of them back when Mahoro, Mikoto, and I come back."

"Well, something like that. But if you’re getting old, so am I." Asuka beamed as Ryouga asked about his wife and daughter. "They’re doing great! Mahoro and I were talking about coming over as a family some time now that Mikoto is old enough!"

Ryouga couldn’t help but smile at Asuka’s comment. Well, perhaps this was the feeling to be a father when your child is growing up. "Really?!" That sure cheered up the leader a lot. "This will be the best! I better try to contact Ranru-chan and Emmy, so they can come over, too."

Asuka nodded, still beaming. "That would be great! I'm sure Mikoto would love to meet everyone, and it'll be great to see everyone again! I know Mahoro feels the same!" The Ryujin was practically bouncing with happiness.

"AHHHHHHH! Yukito-san! AND ABARE BLACK!!" Gai pointed a finger at the two and was freaking out about meeting his heroes for the first time and again, in Yukito’s case. "What do I owe for this visit? Does it involve your grand power or something?"

"Ah, um, yes, that’s…" Asuka wasn’t exactly sure what to do with the super excited younger man in front of him. Finally, he settled for bowing his head slightly. "That’s me… And you are?"

"Ah. I’m Gai, Ikari Gai, also known as GOOOOOKAI SILVER!" Gai does his spin and pose for Asuka. "I am so glad to meet you! I am a huge fan of your team and of teams before and after you."

"Ah! The Gokaigers were the team that came after the war, right?" Asuka seemed a bit excited by the fact that he knew about them, before quickly becoming bashful. "Ah, um, thank you for saying that..."
