Iono has entered the fray! A popular Paldean gym leader and Electric-type specialist, she brings her bright personality, battle skills, fan following, and her version of slang she calls Ionoese to the table. While you're staying, don't forget to follow-- er, check out her collabs!

Team: Wattrel (Trick), Electrode (Spark), Luxray (Lectra), Electivire (Chord), Mismagius (Scry), and Belibolt, plus a Helioptile being trained named Cyrush
iono's appearance is mostly the same as in-game!! however, her coat does not have the iono zone symbol on it and it's instead on the left leg of her shorts. she also wears a crop top underneath her coat as opposed to the shirt in her official ref. her heels are also chunkier and clear with pink water and blue sparkles in them (something like aquarium heels?). she also has a ton of lightning scars along her left arm, shoulder, and chest going to about her collarbone and then stopping. her hair is also worn loose but still in color sections (alternating blue and pink) she also uses heal balls !
heres the sketch of her i made. Biggest model is one half coatless outfit, one half with coat.
This is going to be both a pokeblogging and actual rp blog! Pokeblogging is tagged as Iono's posts and rp stuff is going to be framed as livestream stuff, under Iono's streams. RP posts are usually started off with an "iono !! now typing..." header. interactions are open for all posts unless otherwise stated!!
Follows the Pokespe timeline up to the ending of Emerald, then goes to game canon + a healthy helping of Iono AU (where she's almost the protagonist until she gets her own blue-ish arc where she goes into a0 to save a rival, gets her butt kicked, is injured, and so becomes a gym leader instead of being so active)I'm open to doing in-character stuff with literally anyone. Getting told to go help out the new Gym Leader is not something Iono gets told to do a lot. Mostly because there haven't been any new gym leaders in a while and she did think it was pretty unanimous that she was not the person to help set up any gyms. And while it would be nice to meet new gym leaders, bor-ing! She had her own successful thing goin' on. No time for construction work or puzzle making when stream is at twelve and her makeup takes two hours to get done and it's already ten.
BUT.
There was the question of anticipation for a new gym and how it was a little lackluster at the moment. And who could build hype better than her? Assuming she was not self-glazing at all when she volunteered, which she would totally never do, than the supercharged streamer of Levincia City— and by extension her Iono Zoners spreading the word— would be no better choice.
(Alright, she might be self-glazing. Juuust a little, though.)
The gym looks pretty nice, though when she hesitantly peeks inside to the arena she does think it needs a few more cameras to catch every angle of a battle that will probably occur here. Well, she can do that no problem— if her plan goes right, that is. If not, the three Rotom phones and laptop in her coat's inner pockets will remain there.
Oh, wait. She hasn't even met the Gym Leader yet to see if he'll accept a collab. Is he not there? Or maybe her line of sight from peeking in the door just isn't great and he's just out of where she can see. It would be rude to just walk in and announce herself, but this is important!
She steps in all the way, though she does look down at the phone to fire off a quick text to the gym leader group chat that's barely used instead of immediately looking for anyone in the gym, which might be rude also, but then again, social norms do not exist for the chronically online.
"I should guess this is the usual greeting in Paldea? They say Alola in Alola"
Jack enteres the arena, the soft noise of the pokeballs attached to his belt accompanying his steps. Alongside it, a second noise, coming from the steps and leaves of the Venusaur behind him help to fully close the effect. The Pokémon groans, almost as if adding his own comment to his trainer's dramatic entrance.
"Sorry, we're still not open for challengers, but Levincia City is not that far from here if you're interested. I think its leader is gonna start her stream soon, maybe you can catch it, I've heard she sometimes battles live"
"Gyeh!! You startled me!" Iono says, jumping, her two hairpins' eyes briefly flashing yellow to emote with her. "Eh, no, not really... just thought no one was here... most of the time we say, like, "good morning," or "sup" or something like that."
Iono leans to the side a little to look at the Venusaur, staring it down for a moment before returning her attention to the other gym leader in the room.
(If she goes for Lectra, it might be able to paralyze the other Pokemon, or Trick, who's fast enough to... Focus, Iono!)
"Yeahyeahyeah, that'd be me, actually!" Iono says, the eyes on her hairpins going starry anime-style when she makes the peace sign like she's posing for a photo, a rare emergence of her hands from the extremely long sleeves of her coat. "Supercharged streamer of Levincia City, at your service! Got sent here to help with buildin' hype, gettin' the peeps all charged with energy for the gym's opening, all that fun stuff... If you're fine with that, that is! Buut my major following of fans would definitely be a force for welcoming your gym on opening day if you did collab with me."
The surprise is clear on his face, the hairpins, the startlement and the revelation working together for that. He blinks slowly at her response about the greetings, briefly looking at the Venusaur who also looks at him before turning their attention back to the rather explosive person with them.
Her pose almost glows on its own, and recognition lands on the leader's face almost immediately. From far behind, she could've passed as a random cosplayer. Closer and up front, however, she was unmistakable.
"Oh, damn" he mutters "Sorry, I didn't recognize you at first. Iono, right? I'm Jack"
He extends his hand as a greeting, his palm looking slightly upwards. The Venusaur behind him also extends a vine, mimicking the gesture, causing a chuckle from his trainer
"And this is Bantro. He's glad to meet you too"
Both of them look at her with attention and curiosity, her proposal seemingly getting their interest immediately
"A collab huh. Wow, thanks! Yeah, we'd be down. Sounds fun, actually! What would you have in mind?"
"Yeppers, I'm Iono!" she says, waving. "Aww, Bantro's so cute! You two must have a bond just crackling with energy."
Her usual Rotom phone escapes from her coat, and Iono taps the screen a few times, then turns it to Jack so he can see. It's the top videos on her Poketube channel, all battles with slightly clickbaity titles.
"So my top vids are all battles," Iono tells him with a wide grin, gesturing to her best video (with a few million views too), "people love to see me take on challengers ! I get viewership boosts too when I lose, for some reason... no idea what that's all about, but anyways, if you're interested, a test battle would definitely bring in the crowd like flies to honey! Unless you wanna keep your team a secret for the grand opening. I did that when my gym came about, hehe."

Iiiiiii have been having nightmares again!! Not fun!! Mismagius might be causing the resurgence? I dunno auuuuugh it's so annoying mostly because I can't get back to sleep after them but I gotta do the technical part of Gym Leader stuff y'know? And taxes, sometimes. I wish I was a kid again

Not sure if this is useful but, have you considered using some Spores or Sleep Powder from a grass type to help with it? I've heard it can help. Someone even told us once about some people using dried up petals from Venusaur's flowers for the calming aroma. Maybe could work?
I have— helps me sleep, but of course, sleep brings nightmares! Makes 'em a lot cornier, though, like who fights an army of zombies by Dynamaxing themselves? But I might look into the petals, if I can find a supplier...

Secret League Hack: Any gym leader will eat or drink anything during mid-match snack breaks provided the challenger wires enough money to their account beforehand
P sure tourists violate at least one really old law in that vein by just stepping onto lumiose soil so it's very easy to break them considering how many old laws it has
Team Star as a thing reminds me a lot of the early Iono Zone back when it was just a friend group and messaging forum at my school!! 'Course mine blew up in spectacular fashion, whereas Team Star has kinda evolved Pokemon-style out of its bad rep, but it's still so heartwarming to look at all these trainers who sometimes occasionally even stop by my gym and see how unified they are! Well, they weren't for a while— buuut we will pretend that never happened
some kid rolled up today with a weird pokemon made of crystal that almost made trick terastallize without me making it do it? Huh???? They rematched me and I said "yeah okay suresies let's go!!" because I thought it was just a freak accident, that happens sometimes around me on scar ouchie days, THAT THINGS MOVES WERE ALL SUPER EFFECTIVE ONCE I TERASTALLIZED MY ACE?? juliana you have some explaining To Do.
