Look back month day 2: oldest toy chronologically. Idk which of these is actually the oldest, but they both appear to be from the 50s, and most of my vintage dolls are from the 60s. Shirley temple and Dollikin. Shirley is a future Dorothy doll, once I get around to sewing her new outfit. Dollikin needs badly to be restrung, but her stringing is different from the 60s versions, so I haven’t dared to tackle it yet,
Uneeda doll I was told was a Dollikin but she’s even bigger than Barbie! She’s in great shape for her age and I’ll make a post showing off her joints with a size comparison soon.

Here’s my 12″ Dollikin doll, a lucky thrift shop find. She came in this super-groovy outfit with her boots even. I think she is missing a sash, maybe, but I’m OK with it. She’s highly articulated, especially for a doll of her era, except that her elastics are loose so I should really replace them. :-/ She hangs out on the doll shelf I call “That 70s Shelf” since it’s also the home to my Mego Cher and Farrah Fawcett, Kenner Bionic Woman, Mattel Cheryl Tiegs, and Tuesday (or is it Tiffany? I can never remember - it’s the 12″ version) Taylor dolls. The chair is 70s Mattel - I think it originally came with the 3-story Barbie townhouse. Table is Ikea. Phone is, I believe, a vintage item that was some kind of sales sample thing - ? A doll club member gave it to me. The drink is meant to add a pop of color - it’s from the Mattel High School Musical pool set. I love this doll’s grande dame demeanor.
Need to restring these girls, but not until I figure out how to replace the brunette’s butt. Anyone have ideas?
Blonde Dollikin is finished! There was a huge crack in her part line to work around, so I had to leave the hair a little thin in some spots, and I couldn’t manage the pigtails I originally wanted. But overall I’m very happy with her, and looking forward to reuniting her with the others when my basement is reassembled.
Btw she has Barbie legs because I bought her legless. She’s missing a hand, too, but it doesn’t show in these photos.
Gotta be careful - this is all the hair I have like this.
