Cyclones take over New York City December 30th
The Iowa State Cyclones take down the undefeated (#2) Oklahoma State Cowboys on a Friday night in Ames, Iowa. Video by WHOtv 13.
wvsports:
West Virginia is filing suit against the Big East Conference so it can join the Big 12 next season, according to a document obtained by CBSSports.com.
The Big East requires its members to pay $5 million and provide 27 months notice before it may leave the conference. However, on Friday when West Virginia accepted an invitation to join the Big 12, WVU and Big 12 officials both indicated the Mountaineers would begin play in the Big 12 in 2012-13.
In an e-mail to the league’s presidents Monday, Big East commissioner John Marinatto wrote that “we have been advised by West Virginia league council that the University is filing suit against the Big East Conference today (Monday) – presumably to get relief from the withdrawal provision contained in our bylaws.”
Only in the Big XII
Not sure where the line is between "beats" and "destroys" but I think the Cyclones win last night was north of it.

OU destroys Texas
Texas Tech ruins OU’s win streak
Iowa State beats Tech
What the heck.
When this happens in the SEC, folks talk about conference depth, so let’s consider that the Big 12 is better this year than many people might think.
wvsports:
I think things are FINALLY starting to move forward.
This says it all:
“Of all the schools the league has lost, from a football standpoint losing West Virginia would be the most damaging,” a source told The Post. “Despite what anyone says, that’s the program the league has hung its hat on.” Read more: http://www.nypost.com/p/sports/college/football/wvu_set_to_leave_big_east_for_big_aS3e4cF01Oc4fAyQ6qlw4O#ixzz1bnkt49fx

While getting my oil changed and some new tires (still have to go get my truck inspected), I saw some conference news. Those of you who aren’t following me for my sports commentary, just bear with me. So, apparently the Big 12 sent feelers out to Air Force about joining the conference. I like this...
#TCU Chancellor Dr. Victor Boschini, Jr. tells a room of media & fans that the Horned Frogs have agreed to join the #Big12.
big12football:
Oklahoma’s President David Boren said the following today:
“TCU is an excellent choice as a new member of the conference. They bring strong athletics and academic credentials and were enthusiastically and unanimously supported by all of the members of the conference. There could be other additions in the future.”
Louisville and Cincinnati have also been mentioned as possible additions, so it looks like the Big 12 is going to raid what’s left of the Big East to further stabilize the conference. BYU is another possible candidate as well. It looks like the conference intends to get back to 12 teams, regardless of what happens with Missouri.
Cyclone fans turnout big for ISU v Texas.

Three thoughts:
1. Thank you Mizzou chancellor and Chair of the Big 12 Board of Directors for your leadership through a tough period and seemingly stabilizing the conference with the long term revenue sharing agreement you announced a few days ago.
2. Interesting that you don't deem said agreement as good enough for yourself to be a part of.
3. I and likely everyone concerned prefers that you stay. But, more than that, we want a quick resolution. So, if you want to get out - just do it. As the saying goes, "don't let the door..."

A&M gone officially; thought to be a positive indication that the Big 12 will survive. If the BIg 12 was shaky, A&M & the SEC wouldn't have allowed it over fears of litigation from schools who's contracted revenue was in doubt over A&M inability to follow their own creed. Jerkstores.
Unity! (maybe)
