“Or… we actually try to do something to get out of this bloody funhouse?”
“Well that is the plan, but right now we need to figure out how to do so. We can’t just go around poking and prodding at things.”
“Don’t touch anything until we figure out what the hell is going on here.”
“Especially when one considers the location of my office,” Calliste rolled her eyes. “It does beg the question of what’s causing it.”
“Yes I’m sure that makes it quite treacherous.” Irene shook her head slightly. “One can only assume, really.”
“I can try. There’s just so much random craziness happening.”
“I know, and thus far you have done an excellent job keeping things under control.”
“Well you better believe it, and maybe keep your voice down Professor.” Emma scanned the area around them before returning her eyes to the woman in front of her. “It’s also not the same freedom from over the summer.”
“I appreciate the caution Miss Vanity, however, I also think that during times like this honest is better than silence, to a certain degree.” She smiled at the girl. “Besides I’ve merely stated a fact, but I will take your warning to heart.”
“Am I allowed to speak openly, Professor? Because, in that case I would say, that it is not feeling content with how all the rules and our life here did change since the beginning of the new school year.”
“Of course, in fact I encourage it. I would have to agree with that observation. I feel that Hogwarts is cooking something up for us, let’s just hope that we learn what it is soon.”
“That’s alright. Nobody seems to know what is going on.”
“That’s the most troubling part, in my opinion. Hopefully we’ll get answers soon.”
“Do you know, I think I’d rather avoid that particular staircase today.”
“I’ve thought much the same. Although it does leave the issue of getting around to the higher floors efficiently.”
“The one staircase I needed to take to get to class nearly flung me from it. I’m taking it as a sign to skip potions.”
“I’ll pretend I didn’t hear that, Mister Tonks.”
“How can I be expected to get my assignments done on time when half my books are stuck in my dorm with an empty portrait blocking the entrance to the common room? That’s twice in one day that the entrance has been inaccessible.”
“I’ll excuse your assignment, Mister Longbottom, have no fear of that. As for your other professors I say that you talk to them individually; otherwise you may have to carry your books with you.”
“If everyone would stay away from the stairs unless you’re evil and stupid, that’d be great.”
“I agree with your sentiment, Mister Potter. At least until we get this fixed lets see if you can enforce it.”
“In case any of you were worried or relieved, I’m just fine after being thrown from those miserable stairs, despite getting stuck in an empty painting, and then hit with a hammer by a goblin from another painting.”
“I’m relieved to hear that you are well Mister Carrow.”
“I can hear you talking, but I don’t care enough to listen to you.”
“Even with the new rules, I believe the respecting the adults who are speaking to you is still required Mister Malfoy.”
“Did you ever think the school itself may be revolting against the rules?”
“Its as good idea as any I’ve heard.”
“This isn’t the same school I left over the summer. I almost can’t believe it.”
“Do you have any idea what’s going on around here?”
“I have no idea, Miss Purkiss. I wish I had a better answer for you.”
“I am wondering, did any of you ever consider that the castle is maybe trying to speak to us this way? And that we all simply fail to understand what it is saying all the time?”
“That’s an interesting thought Miss Llewelyn. What do you think the castle is trying to tell us?”
