8.According to immigration agents, approximately 10,000 women are held in underground brothels in Los Angeles, this is excluding the thousands of victims in sweatshops and domestic work.

9.Approximately 13 million children around the world are victims of human trafficking.

10.Trafficked children are more likely to engage in prostitution as adults. They also develop mental health problems, commit crimes, and abuse substances in life.

Irene Kepler - Building a Career as an International Social Worker

Irene Kepler has several years’ experience in social work. She set up her non-profit organization, Arusha in Tanzania in 2005 and has been actively involved in the program she developed there. Experience and Qualification

To get a job as an international social worker, you will need to have at least five years’ experience in domestic social work. You will also need to have experience in grant writing and fundraising, though it is not a pre-requirement, it could be an advantage. Knowledge of a couple of foreign languages will definitely be an advantage.

Working as an international social worker will require you to have determination, resourcefulness, and humility. Do not assume you know more than the locals, instead, acknowledge that you have a lot to learn from their culture and how things operate there. If you do not have international experience, you might want to start volunteering internationally to gain valuable experience and develop a cultural relationship with that region. Irene Kepler is a feminist who has worked hard to educate women about various issues of gender inequality in society. Unfortunately, for many men, the word “feminist” seems to conjure up words such as fanatic, men-hater, and extremist. If this is the idea many people have of feminists today, it means they have not come to understand what feminism stands for, and how important it is today.

Irene Kepler - Study Shows High Prevalence of Incapacitated Rape in Colleges

College authorities and human rights advocates like Irene Kepler have been campaigning against sexual assault against young women in campuses for years. According to a recent study, the high rate of incapacitated rape in colleges is quite alarming and is more of a serious issue than some may believe. Research has shown that about 15 percent of young women are raped while being incapacitated from drugs or alcohol use during their freshman year at college. The report was published in the November issue of the Journal of Studies on Alcohol and Drugs.

The report also showed that those who had been sexually assaulted before college had a higher risk of being victimized again. The figures released by the report were rather disturbing. It showed that almost 18 percent of college students were raped while being incapacitated by alcohol or drugs before college. The report also showed that 41 percent of the very same young women were victimized again during their freshman year after being incapacitated by alcohol or drugs. However, the students’ view on alcohol also seemed to play a role in the problem. Young women who believed that alcohol can enhance their sexual experience put themselves at a great risk of being sexually assaulted during their first year of college. Irene Kepler has been fighting.
