Hello 👋 I’m Icezyy from the Philippines who travels to Singapore.
I hope you can stay with me until the end of my tour in Singapore.
Fifth Day
After exploring Bugis Station, my dad thought of going to the Singapore Zoo the next day. The Singapore Zoo is quite close to us; there are only 3 stations, and you can go there. It is located at Khatib Station. The Singapore Zoo has a size of 28 hectares. The Zoo is famous for the orangutan.
The Singapore Zoo is also one of the country's designated centers for rescued wildlife. It also allows non-harmful animals to roam. One of the animals that I saw there that was released was the baboons, but even though they were able to get out, the zookeepers still maintained the safety of the tourists.
At the Singapore Zoo, there are also many activities that you can do, such as watching the elephant presentation where you can feed the elephants; next is Animal Friends, where you can approach the animals that are small and harmless; and there is also a dolphin show, but we didn't. seen because we didn't make it to the time the show started.
I hope you visit Singapore Zoo with your child and have fun with the animals.
Fourth Day
I went to Haji Lane, where there are many thrift stores, coffee shops, and photobooths. Most of what you will see there is purely Indian, and it is located in Bugis Station. This street is known for its colorful atmosphere, where many tourists go to take pictures.
Haji Lane is also one that has become popular on TikTok because of its beautiful view and many places to take pictures. This is the busiest street in Singapore, but even it is narrow. It is still visited by tourists. But there is also Arab Street on the other side, where only accessories are sold and also coffee shops.
Most of those who went to Arab Street and Haji Lane were Indians because that place was close to where they used to worship. Arab Street also has many Muslim-owned restaurants. Arab Street was named after the person who once owned the area.
Third Day
While walking on Orchard Road, I watch TikTok videos, and one of the top things to do in Orchard is to go to library@orchard. At first, I couldn't find where it was located, so I used Google Maps to find it, and it was inside a mall.
As far as I remember, every mall near the station has a library. But library@orchard is one of the most popular libraries because of its Instagrammable view and because it has a lot of space for people who want to study or read a book. Also, library@orchard has a more relaxed vibe than other libraries because some libraries in Singapore are crowded or sometimes noisy because of kids.
So their pros and cons go to library@orchard. The pros are that it's a quiet place and has a good ambiance, but the cons are that it's hard to get to because it's hidden, but even if it's hidden, it's worth visiting because of the view you can see, and there are also many books to look for and it is organized.
Third day
After going to Lucky Plaza, I went to Orchard, where I saw tall buildings and malls. All you will see are luxury brands when you pass Lucky Plaza. But the thing I liked most about the orchard was the 1.5-dollar Ice cream located outside Ion Orchard.
ION Orchard is a shopping mall adjacent to Orchard MRT Station. Ion Orchard is one of the malls with a beautiful layout. Even if you are outside, you will be amazed by the exterior of the mall, which offers unique experiences because of Luxury Brands such as Louis Vuitton and Prada but also has other stores such as Zara and Uniqlo.
Orchard Road is one of the best places I've been to in Singapore because there are so many beautiful and big malls there. If in the Philippines there is BGC, then there is Orchard Road.
Third Day
For the third day in Singapore, my father had to go to work, so I was left alone at home. And then I thought of going to a famous place that Filipinos go to, the Lucky Plaza. Where the vendors are all Filipino and provide services.
The Lucky Plaza is located on Orchard Road, which is better known as a budget-friendly mall because it has a wide range of products and also has many sales. Filipinos know it better because that's where they make remittances to send to their families. Also, almost all the vendors and service providers there are Filipino.
What I noticed in Lucky Plaza is that I see only salons on every floor. The salon there is cheaper than the salon in the malls. If in Lucky Plaza the haircut in the mall is 20 dollars, it becomes 40 dollars, so it also attracts tourists because it is affordable, but here in the Philippines it is cheaper.
That's all for the Lucky Plaza; I hope you visit it.
Second Day
On my second day in Singapore, the first thing I did was eat breakfast at Hawkerchan, which was fried rice, chicken, noodles, and other Indian and Chinese food. After that, we went to IMM, which is located in Jurong East.
The International Merchandising Mart Mall, better known as IMM, is one of Singapore's largest outlets. It is owned by CapitaLand. CapitaLand is a Real state investment company. So we went there because a friend of mine said there would be a lot of sales because it was a factory outlet.
Every year, the stores there give a lot of discounts. So this mall is visited by those who tour because there they see cheap but branded goods because of the discounts they get. So when I went, I was able to buy shoes whose price was 169 dollars, but I was able to pay 76 dollars only because of the discounts. So this mall is the one I want to go back to the most because their sale is no joke.
I hope you visit IMM in Singapore.
First Day
After the airport, we will go to my father's house. We took the MRT, but you can also take the bus. Our flight to the house takes more than 2 hours. We had four stops to change trains. There are different MRT lines in Singapore, but our line is the red line, better known as the NS (North-South Line). There is a map for each station that you can see, and it says how many hours or minutes it will take you to get to your destination.
When we got off at Sembawang Station, we found many stalls, food courts, and convenience stores. and after we cross, there's a mall, so you won't get bored and hungry there. When we left the mall, we saw the bus stop, but that was only an option because you can also walk to your house if you are close. In our case, we were at the end, so we took the bus. When we got off the bus, there was a food court, better known as Hawkers, and there was also a convenience store.
I just noticed that here in the Philippines, the driver is on the left side, while in Singapore, it is on the right side. Also, the people there are really disciplined because when they actually cross, it is only on the pedestrian line, and they wait for the green light before crossing.
That's it for my first day in Singapore.
I’m Icezyy from the Philippines who travels to Singapore.
As I step out of the airplane, I notice that there are a lot of things that are different from the Philippines and Singapore, especially in the facilities of the airport. Singapore Changi Airport doesn't have many employees because they are high-tech; all you need to do is scan your passport and scan your face, and then you are allowed to pass immigration. There was no question and answer, unlike in the Philippines, where before you get out of immigration there are many more questions and you still need to fall in line to pass immigration.
Singapore Changi Airport is one of the largest airports in Asia. The airport is like a huge mall that will amaze you because of its beauty. These airports have a lot of tourist spots. You will never be bored, but you will be tired because of the activities you will experience.
First, the Jewel Changi Airport, where you can see the tallest indoor waterfalls called the HSBC Rain Vortex. Second, the Skytrain also passes through the HSBC Rain Vortex, which gives tourists a breathtaking view. Third, Shiseido Forest Valley has an overlook of the HSBC Rain Vortex and has walking trails that you can use to go up as high as you want without getting too close to the waterfalls. These are the famous spots in Singapore.
I hope you enjoy it and that it also inspires you to travel in this country.
