please imagine some cosmic beings cheering for you like this whenever you accomplish little goals
Some people: āIf elder gods existed, they wouldnāt care about us; they would see the same way we see insects.ā Meanwhile, these guys, seeing an insect-
We assume that if the Elder-Gods do exist, they would not sympathies with our lives, that they donāt care about our struggles and our strives to live. But I posit that all life struggles, even the Gods. And while they struggle with things that we could hardly begin to comprehend, that same way a worm could not comprehend the complex melancholics and pains of a Human, they look down on us, and recognize a thing within themselves. A will to strive, a drive to reach across the gap between planks. And they do indeed cheer for us, just as we cheer for a worm, cause if they can make it, then we can make it, and so can we all make it across the gap.

I always used to say shit like "yeah I don't think Metallica are even that good, like they're decent but I think theyre overrated"
anyway turns out all I needed was a hearing aid to appreciate their music properly. I wonder how many other bands and musicians I'd written off as bad simply because I couldn't hear them properly and appreciate the full range of their skills.
Yessss and the opposite can be true too! My grandmother was playing country music so quiet in her car I couldn't hear the twangy guitar or "country" voice the singers put on. It didn't even sound like country, which meant I didn't feel the need to remove my ears
despite what popular opinion may lead you to believe, some rocks actually do have scientifically-proven auras! Unfortunately, those rocks are uranium and the aura is cancer.Ā
End of the year reminder to Witchblr: there is no such thing as "the law of karma", unless you're referring to the horse feathers crap that New Agers put together from their appropriation of Buddhism and Hinduism.
Also, the western idea of karma has been dumbed down from the actual, OG concept to an unbelievable degree. The metaphor I heard was that the westernized understanding of karma is about as accurate as calling Jesus "the god of being nailed to things."
You got me good with "the god of being nailed to things". I had to wipe the soda I spat from my phone. š¤£š¤£š¤£
Karma translates a lot closer to "consequences" than to "revenge," although even that's not nearly accurate or comprehensive - cultural Christian carcerality just demands that everything always for cleanly into a strict moral dichotomy when the world and therefore most systems of metaphysics are not nearly like that at all.
Also the Greek concept of nemesis, is more similar to consequence than punishment.
Maybe examine the metaphysical substrate you're actually coming from before borrowing words from entirely unfamiliar traditions and grafting them haphazardly onto what comes naturally with zero examination.
I do not use the word karma, or dharma, or Maya, or Nirvana, or atman/brahman, or yin/yang or any other but of Hindu/Buddhist Sanskrit jargon because I understand some of it will enough to know that I actually know fucking nothing about the Hindu/Buddhist milieu. It is literally so easy and every westerner should try it.
A while back I did write up a blurb on karma, if you're interested in reading it here. But yeah, karma is not one big universal thing. It's very much a personal thing that's up to each individual.
So if I believe that doing "bad" things will come back around to bite me in the butt sooner or later, what word describes that? Or is there one? I've been wondering for so longggg
neurotypicals always say like "oh don't play dumb you know what im talking about/what you did/etc" you misunderstand. i have no idea about anything ever. please explain actually
YES and then they say stuff like "treat other how you want to be treated" so we explain stuff to them and they get MAD about that and say I'm being condescending. Like...??

a dude came into the library stoned out of his mind and was like, ādo I need a library card to look at books?ā And I said, āto take books home, yes. To look at them, noā and he looked so relieved. bro was staring at a fish encyclopedia for like an hour and then just left.
