ZOO VIEW In a zoo sometimes I feel like I wish I could stand in front of the lions cage all day because I don’t want to miss anything spectacular, like a feeding, or them roaring, etc. So at certain exhibits there can be a live streaming view of some of the more interesting things happening at other exhibits. This can also be a mobile app, so you can view your favorite exhibit while moving about the park.
https://babyteethhiphop.bandcamp.com/ I really do rap and stuff... I guess. Proceed with caution.
IOT: Origins
My IOT idea provides a more comprehensive and immersive experience by combining beacon technology with a Google Maps-style application. As a visitor approaches a new animal exhibit, their smart phone identifies the native habitat(s) of the animals in the exhibit, and allows the visitor to learn more about that region. Traditional zoo displays include stagnant posters, with a description and an image in front of the animal exhibit. Through this smart phone interaction, however, visitors can learn even more about each native habitat and easily explore via Google Earth, or other location mapping tools, without having to engage in distracting searches. -Becky
As my camera travels the world: Florence | Venice | Rome | London | Berlin | Barcelona | Nice | Amsterdam
I don’t really have a talent. I can’t sing. I’m not double-jointed. I can’t even make my tongue look like a hot dog bun. I can dance, kind of… but I don’t really want to record myself dancing. I can draw/paint, kind of… but I don’t have materials. There’s a number of things I’m kind of ok at. One of those things is photography… Here are some pictures I took while abroad this spring! -Andrea
My talent: Mom blogging
I edited a dreamy video of my band covering “Valerie” by the late Goddess, Amy Winehouse in 2012 at The Saint in Asbury Park, NJ. Most of my singing occurs in the shower now, but I consider my love of music and performing something that I will always carry in my back pocket.
Although sites such as Bandcamp and ReverbNation are on the rise, Youtube and Vimeo continue to be the social music sharing platform of choice because of the visual element. People like to watch stuff. Motion graphics, music videos, Grumpy Cat. Videos are visual, visceral, viral. Â Â
The honey makers are the moneymakers as they are responsible for $30 billion a year in crops. Busy bees are just that, bringing home the bread and about half the rest of your grocery list by pollinating 70 of the around 100 crop species which feed 90% of the world. Â
Iris Zoo: Save The Elephant Campaign. Used Ylvis “What does the Fox Say” video.
To raise awareness and money to save the elephant, I thought a strategy of inserting the campaign in an appropriate viral video could work. Â This strategy of essentially disturbing or disrupting the video would catch attention and very quickly share a message. As its an Instagram video, its also very easily shareable.Â
I created this print ad in order to raise awareness. Most people aren’t aware of the level of endangerment elephants are facing. With this ad, more people will know the affects that poachers have on these elephants and hopefully donate to the cause.Â
Global warming is not something many of us think about regularly, but it is one of the most pressing issues of our time. We have harmed our planet in so many ways; abusing its resources and destroying the habitats of countless species.
This is an ad I created in Greenpeace’s name to remind people of this issue. A Polar Bear-shaped ice sheet is breaking into pieces. The tagline “Don’t break the ice,” is a play on words inspired by the famous childhood game. How do we expect to take care of societal problems if we cannot take care of our own planet? Although we can never undo the damage we’ve already done, we can all do our part to reduce our carbon footprint.Â

The Numbers Don’t Lie To help raise awareness of the Sumatran Tiger, we’ve put together the
“Number’s Don't Lie” campaign. The strategy is taking the stark number
of tiger’s left in the world then placing it into a context anyone can visualize
and sympathize with. Bracelet Swag- proceeds could go towards funding.

I created an Ad for tiger endangerment awareness hoping to get an emotional response by using the death of a beloved childhood character.

For this week’s assignment I decided to use a WWF ad I created in one of my advertising classes, emphasizing the importance of all endangered species to the food chain. To convert the ad to a social media platform it can be posted with information on how to donate in the Instagram caption, tweet, etc.Â
