I'm a baby lawyer. (As in, I'm new to this; I'm not a Doogie Howser baby genius.) When I'm not staring at a computer screen or doing other super interesting lawyer things, I like to do all the yoga, eat Tex-Mex (queso NOM), continue my quest to find the best margarita on the planet (Polvo's, anyone?), and enjoy the good life in my new hometown of Houston, Texas. I spend a large portion of my day dreaming about doing handstands. The colors in this art installation make me happy. I took this photo a few months ago, and when I’m scrolling through my photos, I always stop when this blast of color pops up on my screen. I’ve been struggling to process a lot of bad and sad news in the world this week, so I’m posting this photo to remind myself that there are bright and beautiful things in the world if we just stop to look around. I didn't leave the office until 10 last night. I was tired. I was ready for a nosh. As I walked through the lobby of my office building, I noticed a new exhibit on display. Rather than rush out like I do every night after work, I stopped and looked. And all the paintings were colorful and it was so unexpected to see a pop of beauty in a drab 21st century office that my heart swelled and it reminded me that love is everywhere, even in the small act of hanging your paintings in a lobby.

Hello, Tumblr. I miss you. This used to be my Internet home base. The first site I checked in the morning, and the last I browsed before I went to bed. I made some legit connections through this site. I wrote a bit, I posted some photos. Mostly, I absorbed amazing content from some truly talented folks and reblogged a bunch of gifs and quotes (thanks @stamos, for letting me repost like 30% of your shit). Tumblr, I love you. But I got tired of the ads and the Follow requests. It was hard to blog on the fly. A lot of the OG Tumblr peeps left for other sites - or stopped blogging altogether. Instagram was easy and sexy, and we started flirting and then it got sort of serious...to the point where I spent all my time over there, with only the occasional post through to Tumblr. It's been a good long while since I've paid attention to this tiny space of the Internet that I started curating all those years ago in a cold, tiny apartment in Albany, New York. It's frivolous and follows the whims of pop culture and won't do anything to make the world a better place. But it's mine. I like it. I miss it. I wanna visit more often.
