I'm learning about intersex variations for years now and I've noticed that the majority of articles talk about negative aspects of each variations (what they might cause), and they treat is like it's the same for everyone. it's kinda the reason why I never checked my chromosomes until recently (despite suspecting that I might've had a different chromosome set). I'm XYY and I don't have many things associated with XYY chromosomes. I also don't like how they call intersex variations "syndrome." it might be just me but when I learned the definition of syndrome (abnormality was mentioned) it felt dehumanizing

What I was saying is that I can be discerning with any pregnant women because at least I know what pregnant woman experiences, but all I've experienced from pregnant intersex "men" is repetitive abuse because I happen to be an intersex woman, I'm a woman before I'm intersex. If a pattern is repetitive, I can't say the problem lies outside of me. Despite being 0.001% of the population, they're like pericis men, just intersex. Idc if the OP is "agender", he's said he appears male, therefore holds more power than any woman. We don't have to degender pregnancy for 0.001% of the MEN population. It's physically impossible and unimaginable.

I'm not knowingly intersex but hearing my one of my coworkers asking what intersex was and the reply being "h-slur are people with both male and female genitals" and the first response being disgust.

I wish I had the guts and the knowledge to correct them but sadly I was still learning about it at the time. Neither one works there anymore

this is more of a vent than anything else, but Im so exhausted about J.K. Rowling and her supporters. Not only is she... Everything else! But have you seen the bizzare thing she said about rejecting a lady with PCOS last year? Its so. So. blatantly intersexist On Top of the intended transphobia. Its so horrible it makes me want to explode. The lady on the phone was not even obligated to disclose any of that info but was vulnerable and trusting about something she was clearly insecure about and got Blasted on social media after a horrible traumatizing event. its so!!!! god.

It was discussing the struggles men have in “women” spaces(pregnancy, abortion, people who own a uterus) so of course it would be geared more towards masculine people not feminine people but even so! I feel this post was more ableist than anything

anon, I promise you we didn't forget about intersex women. we're aware that intersex women face extreme discrimination from medical system. the post was about degendering pregnancy and personal experience. we think that degendering pregnancy would help everyone who can get pregnant (and not only. infertile people also need access to reproductive healthcare without having people assume that they failed being X gender/identity for not being able to reproduce). we hope things will get better for every one of us and none of us will have to face medical intersexism, ableism, eugenics, transphobia and other types of bigotry. have a great day/night.

The fact that despite my dysphoria about the way my body developed and that i’ve been punished for showing femininity and pushed out of girls spaces and still mourn missing out on so much, after years of identifying as a man to avoid violence, now as a girl i finally feel happy and i’m still too afraid to call myself transfem because I was AFAB.

the fact that in discussions of which countries are safe for queer people if igm is banned or not is basically never mentioned nearly every country mentioned as being super queer friendly has not banned igm and it's not even mentioned in the discussions

hi! so I am newly found to be intersex and am trying to learn the right words and memorise them, but personally I struggle with it due to intellectual disability and autism.

my urethra and clitorus are in the same spot (it's either mesospadias or epispadias, I can't remember the word, and it doesn't seem to be my only variation), and I used to think that was normal, until my bugfriend (partner) told me it isn't. I ended up telling my mother, and she asked if there's a way to "fix" it.

my urethra/clitorus has never given me ANY issue outside of sexual pleasure, in which I struggle with (for several reasons). I'm aware it can cause UTIs but I've never gotten one because I'm lucky (and if I'm understanding correct because I'm very clean? I'm not sure).

Mind you, I am physically disabled by my chronic pain and she doesn't care about that at all, going as far as to say I'm not disabled. She can take it if I'm literally about to cry I'm in so much pain, but the second my vagina is weird she's telling me to "seriously consider surgery" if the option is given.

I'm 90% sure that's intersexism, but I might be overreacting? I'm sorry if I am. have a good day/night

I feel like there's missing context. But working off what we got, I think it's not (inter)misogonistic to bring up intersex women in a intesex man's post talking about their life. Because it's their life... The post is about them, and that's not bad. It would be intermisoginstic if they had been shitting on intersex women and/or making fun of the fact that some who want children cannot get pregant. But they weren't So I don't see it...

I'll leave it up to other intersex people to decide a consenus on this. If anyone's willing...

Maybe I could shed some light? A fetish is something that a person finds necessary or near necessary to be aroused. A kink is something that a person finds to greatly help or be beneficial to arousal. Of course, another definition for fetish would in reference to fetishization, when someone treats another person, who is usually marginalized, as a sexual object for their own sexual pleasure usually because of their marginalization.

It might be helpful to remember not all people with fetishes are fetishizers/engage in fetishization, and most fetishizers do not meet the 1st definition of having a fetish. Largely, fetishization is both a part of and the result of bigotry (particularly seeing marginalized people as less human, as objects to be used by the privileged person).

The idea that fetishes (the 1st definition not the 2nd) and kinks are inherently bad, predatory, weird, gross and etc etc is most blatantly anti-kink, but comes from a place of heteronormativity and puritanicalism's whole Sex Must Be This One Way Or Else You Are Evil (especially if you're queer).

For example, a person with a (perisex vulva and penis/scrotum) bigenital fetish (or kink) just finds bigenitalia necessary for arousal/attraction. A person who fetishizes intersex people is treating (their false, intersexist idea of) intersex people as sexual objects that exist for their arousal/not deserving of respect, or is engaging with content on that basis. If that makes sense?

I actually quite like there is some light shed on this and it makes me more comfortable

idk if this counts as intersexism or not, but you know what fucking sucks? Being intersex and into bigenital porn

TECHNICALLY I have all this "futa" stuff available to me, but it was never made with intersex people in mind.

If you search up "intersex" on porn/hentai sites, you find not real examples of intersex variations, but a distorted, fetishized version of intersex people that doesn't exist in reality (People with both a penis and vagina exists, but I have never heard of a case where both are fully functional)

Is this a weird thing to complain about? Sure! But its something that bothers me and it's related to me being intersex and intersex discrimination via fetishization? Yes! So I think it counts as intersexism??? Just delete this suggestion if it makes you uncomfortable

I wouldn't mind it being a kink if intersexism/transphobia exists but it DOES so I always feel bad for being into it.

I HATE fetishes, but I feel that intersex people should be allowed to be in porn without it being a weird ass kink
