Isa felt sick, she'd felt it all day and it just got worse. She had snuck into Val's bathroom in the morning, trying to keep quiet as she threw up everything in her stomach. She had then realized what the date was. She was a teenage girl, she'd never been perfectly regular, but she'd never actually missed a period before. Before Val had even woken up she'd rushed out of his apartment, texting him and telling him she'd had something planned. But instead she went to the drug store, bought a test and went straight into the bathroom to take it. the test said wait five minutes, but as soon as she's pulled the stick back it had both lines. She still waited five minutes, hoping maybe it'd say 'jk, negative'. But that didn't happen.
Isa threw the tests away, feeling ill again, this time for a different reason. She buried her face in the crook of her elbow, letting out a sob. When she could breathe again, she pulled out her phone to text Hepburn, Hep always knew what to do, but she froze. No she couldn't do that, she couldn't tell anyone. She instead looked up the address of the nearest planned parenthood. It wasn't that far, of course, this was Vegas, the land of debauchery. They'd need to be sure there was back up easily accessible.
Isa walked out, not looking at the clerk as she headed for the building, it was easy to find, there was a small group of protesters outside, of course. Isa walked right past them and into the small building. she didn't even think about making an appointment, she just walked up to the window.
"I- um... I need... I'm pregnant and I need to not be." She whispered to the receptionist, her throat tight. The woman was really nice. She scheduled Isa for a consultation of sorts.
By the end of it, she felt worse. They had done the ultrasound, she'd seen their baby, her and Val's baby. It broke her heart. They told her when to come back for the pills and how much it would be.
650 bucks. she didn't have six dollars and fifty cents, let alone six hundred and fifty dollars. She knew what she had to do. she didn't want to, but she had to. She walked back to Val's apartment, taking the elevator up and knocked, She quickly wiped her eyes, trying to pull herself together before she had to tell him.
