Cant tell if I want to be fucked or killed
Ok, so i'm gonna say this once only, some of you will disagree and that's ok, it's just an opinion.
So, i just needed to vent abt it somewhere, but i feel like the show ruined a lot of my experience in the PJO fandom. I miss the fanfics, the fanarts, the skits and videos from before the show. I feel like creators forget that there are some fans who have a preference for the original source material, the books.
The show is an entire different form of media and i understand that i couldn't ask for it to be a perfect copy of the books, things that work on books won't necessarily work on a series/movie. But i feel like a lot of content covers more the series and the books were left behind, it's harder to find content abt the book.
And i don't have any problems with the actors, i like the choices they made and all, but the series ain't my cup of tea, i miss the old fandom.
Darry Curtis who takes everything literally.
Ponyboy Curtis who reads into and analyzes everything ever.
Prove me wrong (no, actually, please don't, if someone argues with me i will cry :( )
So right!!!! And that's what causes a loooot of their miscommunication problems.
Yk, when it comes to the movie it's always rinney this, rinney that (which is understandable, if these two weren't in love then the sky is purple), but everybody should talk more abt Brinney (Bruce x Finney) on the book! In the book we're not presented to all the boys, Finney talks abt the first kid to disappear (i forgot his name lol) and abt Bruce, only! None of the other kids from the movie is there.
And, as consequence, Bruce causes a lot more impact on him. You can see that on how much he talks that Bruce was great and how he would be able to take the Grabber down with a rock or smt (as he was a baseball player yk) and he's always praising Bruce. It feels like a one-sided crush, the nerd background kid that comes from a bad family who has a crush on the popular kid who doesn't even know he exists.
But! In the end, when Finney receives the call, we see that his crush might be reciprocated cause Bruce says he's happy it's Finney (it's the recognition on saying that, he knows who Finney is, it's like seeing this guy on the background and saying 'I see you, i know you' and omg, ik that reading is abt interpretation and as i am delulu i like to think that is a proof), cause he does what he can to give Finney a chance to win.
Thank you for comming for my ted talk!
Hello guys, I'm here again to talk abt 'The Outsiders' cause these queer bitches got stuck in my brain and won't get away *sigh* so i wanted to talk abt Dally and Ponyboy's relationship and how they parallel each other. (At this point, i will tell you guys they're my favorite from the gange btw)
So, in my reading Pony and Dal are two sides of the same coin, how so? Dal sees the world at it's darkest, he sees how the ugly parts are. He's basically looking at the void all the time until it claims him with his death. Pony on the other hand, although has seen a lot of ugliness sees the best parts of the world, he sees life as it can be, appreciating the beautiful details, looking at the void and saying 'no'.
To me they're the biggest parallel in the book, cause Johnny, (as Ponyboy says he can talk abt the sunsets with him) also can see the good and beautiful in life despite his situation, and we don't get to see the opinion of the rest of the gang abt it, even if we get bits of it.
And that parallel, this contrast in visions of life, takes a big role on their relationship. Because, as Pony has said, Dally didn’t have any heroic characteristic like a book character the same way the others are described by Pony to have, Dally was real, the realest of them all.
Dally is the one who sees more of the worst that life can have and Pony, who sees the best of it, can't understand that, he can't process it, so he pushes Dally away on his mind.
Dally on the other hand sees Pony and Johnny as innocent, he might care more openly abt Johnny but that's because Johnny comes from a bad situation, just as he did, and he probably saw Johnny as a version of him that could have gone right.
That's why when Johnny dies he breaks. And when Dally dies and Pony reads Johnny's letter he's forced to see and deal with all he knew abt Dally, but it's too late for that.
Hi again, sooooo i wasn't really thinking on posting anything abt them rn (i might in the future idk) but i saw a post that had come to my mind for now and i wanted to say something abt it.
So i was on X these days and saw a post abt sasusaku, which... I don't even know how algorithm thought i'd like that, but anyways, it was abt when in the start of shippuden, Team 7 sees Sasuke for the first time in years, but more specifically abt how he was so jealous of Sakura giving attention to another boy (aka Sakura grabbing Sai by his shirt angrily) that he had to call her name.
As i view it, (i don't even know how to put this in a less rough way) he was mocking her, by calling her.
Hear me out here, he wasn't mocking her in a way like "i'm better than you so i will laugh" or any bs like that, but in a way that mocks her capabilities as a ninja. So in the first chapters (before chunnin exams) he says she's worse than Naruto and that she should train more than caring abt dates and all that jazz. Here he is calling her so she (a sannin apprentice) can recognize her surroundings and who's there, she even looks surprised to see him, when Sai was looking directly at him, keeping an eye on the perceived menace, what she doesn't do.
(Which, why didn’t she look to where Sai was looking? I know she was angry he had a mission to kill Sasuke, but you are on a destroyed area on a sannin territory and your teammate even if it's a traitor is looking up, not even caring abt you until you touch him, wouldn't you at least be curious or cautious?)
We see her doing great in the second bell test with Naruto when it comes to find Kakashi, but here on enemy territory where she doesn't know anything abt other threats to her life Orochimaru could have she doesn't have any situational conscience???
(Disappointing for a Tsunade student, if i might say. I think Tsunade would have spotted the situation faster, some of the other girls too. I'm not trying to be misogynistic here, ok? I'm trying to talk abt her as a ninja, not hating on her by being a woman, ok? So don't come jumping at me)
Sasuke called her to make her wake up and look around, like you do to children when they're out of line. It's giving remind my enemy i'm the threat right here. Isn't this like, a bit humiliating?
Also, she's so affected by him, when he seems to not care at all.
He's affected when Naruto comes to light, when Sai talked abt him and when he appears personally. Sasuke goes from non-challant to try to destroy them very easily and he also provokes Naruto.
He provokes Naruto but mocks Sakura, both are very different in context and meaning to both relationships.
He mocking Sakura implies he doesn't see her as a competent ninja or as an equal in the sense he doesn't see Sai as an equal, not because she's a female, but because their former bond is gone, he might have cared abt her before as a teammate but not now anymore. He provokes Naruto abt his dream of being Hokage and leaving him to test him, to see how much of his care is still there, he's trying to get a reaction to see if Naruto is as affected as he is.
(I'd like to add how much their reactions talk abt them as ninjas, Naruto is affected and doesn't fight on his best - ik he was just healing because he used kyuubi chakra and all that jazz, but still - he is compromised, yet Sasuke as much he was affected used it to impulsionate him on the fight and to win, he was ready to attack who were now former allies/teammates but actual enemies in his eyes, which is basically what is stated a ninja should be, "a ninja should never express their feelings" or something like that)
Darry trying to eavesdrop on ponyboys schools drama while he makes dinner
I saw someone asking why Dally called the gang when he was gonna end it all, and, despite the jokes i saw, i think he just wanted to not be alone in his last moments, as he must have felt for most of his life. I think, although he ended it, he didn’t want to die and was scared to do so, but he didn’t see any other way.
I think even if he looked wild and dangerous to everyone, he was always scared and always ready because there was no hope in the world. I think he had a soft spot for Johnny and Ponyboy, both, but after Johnny died he couldn't bear the thought and i think he felt a little guilty over it, but washed it as a little thing on the thought that it was the only way possible for things to end now.

I don't know man, in my head Dallas has a sharp canine that's visible when he smiles, but only in his left side. That leads to him grinning more with this side of the mouth. He thinks this makes him look tuff, Ponyboy and Johnny agree with him.
Once in a fight he got punched in the left, and that teeth broke and became even more sharp. Of course he beat the shit out of the guy who did it, but he liked how it ended up, to him it made him become even more tuff. The gang even if they won't admit agree that's pretty fucking cool
this is a supernatural horror anime and yet this 10 seconds clip is way more horrifying and spine chilling than the entire show. kaoru's a child for god's sake and yoshiki is a gay closeted teenager who's in love with his dead best friend who isn't really dead. accurate portrayal of how patriarchal hegemony bleeds through every social interaction. those words are way more violent than any physical altercation can ever be. as a queer person this scene for me is honestly is nightmare inducing. no matter how proud and accepting i am of my identity, sitting with homophobic bunch of idiots makes my palms grow sweaty, my heart rate spikes and ears start ringing. words can't describe how bad i feel for yoshiki and kaoru. poor babies.
So true, like for each of us, i think, it happens sometimes that people assume so much things and expect you to fill these expectations. Why can't adults just pass a conversation with teenagers, young children or even young adults without talking abt marrying, getting a wife/husband or satisfying the other gender? For fucks sake we're people, not breeding machines or dolls to play
I hate the "as a girl whose grandmother was a slave, can I just say not cool?" line from hazel in moa it's the worst line of dialogue rick has written in his life. But like what the fuck. what kind of insane lore drop is that. hazel's grandmother was an enslaved woman. marie levesque cast a spell to meet the god of riches so that she could finally know what it was like to live beyond the indigence and suffering of her mother. marie wanted to be a queen, not a slave like her predecessors. she wanted pluto to give her all the riches beneath the earth
and then the earth enslaved her body. gaea possessed her and through gaea's influence marie forced hazel for six months to overexert herself to the point of collapsing to raise and reanimate alcyoneus. gaea worked hazel like a slave
it's so explicit here. this is SLAVERY. gaea was using hazel's forced labor for material wealth and power. she was only 13. her grandmother was used and her mother was used and hazel herself was used, they were black women exploited for what their bodies could provide in service to the hideous intentions of monsters in power over them. hazel broke free from the cycle and saved the world all by herself by choosing death - it was the only way out
and even in her second chance at life she's actively fighting to die again. she's an instrument of the gods being used to achieve an end that is supposed to kill her. she was convinced that freeing thanatos would result in him taking her life. she didn't know throughout hoo if her father would kill her when the main quest succeeded. even nico didn't think hazel was going to live. she didn't WANT to die a second time. but she fought for the world and for her friends anyway
by the end of marie's life she was only skin and bones. gaea used her body until she didn't need it anymore. marie was the daughter of an enslaved woman who dreamed of being a queen and instead the earth goddess robbed of her life and dignity. and her soul would have been tortured further in the fields of punishment if not for hazel's unfathomable selflessness and bravery to negotiate for mutual asphodel. hazel never even saw marie again after that. what was it that doomed the levesque family? that marie asked the god of death and riches for too much? she deserved even more than what she asked for. I'm fucking sick no one talk to me
Imo Minato would have been a much more complex and interesting character if the show actually called him out on the fact he essentially killed himself instead of going on to raise Naruto, presumably because he didn't want to live without Kushina. Because that is such a selfish, awful thing to do to your kid BUT it's also a very realistic and human reaction to losing a loved one. Could have dug into that more, showed that he's both flawed and caring.
Unfortunately that shit gets handwaved in order to keep portraying Minato as a boring Golden Boy, so
