I think it’s unfair to peg Si as a function that is “traditional”. Oh, Si users are boooooring and here to enforce the rules on me! I hate my Si mom!!!”
as an Si user, I would define Si as “context”. Si see all the sensory information connected in a great web. How the individual pieces of sensory information are all connected differ between person and person, hence why it is an introverted function. An Si sensory information does not exist independently in the Si’s mind. Every piece of information always has a path that leads to another one, they’re all connected to each other. Compare this with Se. Se sees sensory information as blocks and independent factors , they don’t have such a huge desire for context as Si. (i might make a post in Se later they are really awesome and also kind of misunderstood as the descriptions don’t make them appear as complex as they are)
It’s not stupid “routines” and “traditions” that are here to take away all the fun. It’s a perceiving function, not inferior to Ni and Ne and Se. Simple as that. (if anything, i think people who rely very heavily on strict daily routines are high Ne users trying to control the sensory aspect in their lives)
This is why intuitives think we’re stubborn and no fun. Si requires context to trust a thing to work. They NEED the factual information, or they’re not gonna fuck with your plan or idea at all. When some Ni dude goes “hey look at this awesome thing!!! conceptually it will work!!!” Sensors are like “ hey but this physical aspect and that physical aspect and the statistics show that... can you explain why you think your plan will work?”
Ni: “It just will! cause you see this plan is very personal, i’ve been working in this for years, this is my one vision...”
and the Sensor is kind of like 🤨*raises eyebrow*
and the Ni gets kind of offended like : “How DARE you make me responsible for the SENSORY INFORMATION😤Sensors are meanies and they’re NO FUN.”
It’s just cognitive functions, no vendetta against intuitives, they really do hate being responsible for the sensory. It’s the same with Ni, if they ask you, “so where the fuck are you going with this project?” and you can’t answer they will straight up leave. They rely on a clear concept of the idea.
Also i hate it when people think making observations in the physical world somehow require less intellect and complexity of personality than pure speculation do. It’s almost like intuitives think sensors are incapable of and unwilling to “think about the future” and “talk about philosophy and abstract concepts”, as if intuitives are incapable of collecting sensory information themselves. This is kind of personal tho :p
Oh, and don’t fucking say that this post is sensory bias. Si is not described and depicted correctly in the community and i’m trying to fix that. it doesn’t cost money to not be a dick.
