To whom it may concern I've been drawing ship art of my aph Venezuela with my aph Perú which I'm yet to draw wholly and in a 100% family friendly situation lmao
I have more but I Can't Post Them Here. Anywayyyy
To those who don't know and may be interested: Perú and Venezuela have history together, mostly during the independence war of Perú/Bolivia and modern times. Venezuela had a lot of influence on the ultimate liberty of Perú from Spanish rule, specially Simón Bolívar and Antonio José de Sucre, who had their battalions of the Colombian army (as in 'Gran Colombia', not modern Colombia) to fight alongside the Peruvian army. Venezuela was also responsible for the independence/basically creation of Bolivia (named Republic of Bolivar at the beginning).
Nowadays, due to the humanitarian crisis of Venezuela, is not a secret that there's millions of Venezuelan immigrants all over the world, and Peru is one of the countries that has the most of Venezuelan immigrants. This has, sadly, resulted in a widespread xenophobia towards Venezuelan immigrants (that go from verbal to physical abuse to straight up murder), but that doesn't take away the fact that Perú has been kind to the million of Venezuelans that live there, and a significant portion of Peruvians are very kindhearted people.
So yeah there's my explanation. I have a friend of mine who's from Peru and another friend who's Venezuelan but has lived in Peru and we're having a blast making headcanons, drawings, and jokes about how they would be and their dynamic as personified nations. The general consensus is that Venezuela used to be someone Peru greatly admired, but now it's an annoying bum who keeps breaking into his house. I think that's fun
This dudeee
(in order) my designs for Colombia, Venezuela, Essequibo and Guyana!!
The Essequibo region is a piece of land between Venezuela and Guyana that's been in dispute since colonial times and it's still ongoing so she's in between big brother Vene and big brother Guya (?)
All Venezuela, Colombia and Guyana are wearing military official uniforms. The ones for Colombia and Guyana are modern uniforms. Venezuela has a 1960s uniform for an infantry colonel
My aph Colombia's human name is Catalina, Venezuela's is José Luis, for Essequibo I was thinking «Denise», and Delroy for Guyana.
I wanna make a bigger drawing for my Colombia design cuz I wanna expand on the details of her design but!! Anyhow!!!!! Here are they individually

That dress just fucking pisses.me off. Everything about it is just not-accurate. What's that undershirt? That collar style wasn't a thing until, like, the Renaissance. That waist silhouette shouldn't be that defined, definitely not in that way. The skirt shouldn't be that pompous either. It's just a whole mess
I did take liberties because his hair shouldn't be 1: that voluminous and 2: combed that way. But I think that's something that just fits him as a character. In the first place, if he were to parallelize a noblewoman from medieval France, he should be wearing either some sort of veil or another headgear like a coif-like thingy or just overall a different hairstyle (like braids with ribbons or something like that), but I don't think he's fully into it, iykwim; I don't think he has his whole heart in it, I just think he wears the dress because it's pretty and makes him feel pretty given his feminine taste, not because he wants to mimic women in any way.
By the way bows weren't really that popular in Europe at that time. They started getting popular in clothing until, like, the enlightened era. Before that, they may have worn bows on, like, their hair, but not in such an ostentatious way, specifically on their clothes. Francis is a very ostentatious character, though, so I think he would've worn them, and I think he would've gotten away with it
There's this Reguetón remix that you would listen in literally any fucking party ever back in 2017 in South America (talking about my experience in Venezuela, but I know it was very popular in Argentina too). It was a mix between an already popular cumbia-reguetón song from Argentina called "Mueve El Toto" and Hatsune Miku's Ievan Polka. Very weird but it was a BANG. For some reason, it was called "Mega Little French Girl".
Which is where this drawing idea comes from LOL. I wanted her to look like those anime girls from Reguetón remix videos from the mid 2010s. I think I nailed it, somehow; with my own, inevitable modernized coloring style. Idk

I think perhaps the only way in which queer people have achieved true parity with straight people is that queer romantasy is just as bad.

Some aph Venezuela stuff while I still get used to drawing on my phone. Did you know that families from the Holy Roman Empire had territories in Venezuela? Maracaibo (where I'm from) was founded by them. They called the territory Klein-Venedig (Little Venice, just like the Spanish and the Italians). The more you know!
Y por eso Ecuador es más feliz
