Anyway, onto Cory's intro :)

Hello.

My name is Cory.

I am half gem, half human.

My gem is a black opal some kind of opal.

I am fairly new to this site, so please be patient.

I would like to make some friends, Ive never really had them, so please interact.

I'm unsure if there are others of my kind, I always feel very... Alienated... Ive never interacted with any gems in general, so if any gems see this... Hello

Uh. To officially adopt, it's a bit of a prossess... And kinda expensive... But with Jasper and I, nothing is official legally. Probably won't be. I dunno if she would even want to or be allowed to adopt me legally

.... Uhh... It's quite a bit more complicated then that. We can't just go to an adoption place. She would probably have to show proof of citizenship which I highly doubt she has, and they would probably have to do a home visit and see if shes financially stable. They would also probably need my dad to sign away his rights since he's technically still my legal guardian

-Suddenly, Cory hears a voice from the stairs. It's low with the hint of a rasp, but it is also firmly reassuring and kind.-

"Hey... Cory, right?"

-When she whips around, she comes face-to-face with a fusion, standing at around 9 feet tall, with one long, chunky braid flowing from the top of her head and down the side. Warm, brown eyes flicker with concern, and she takes a cautious step forward.-

"I'm... Turquoise. I'm taking care of the temple while everyone is away."

"Sorry if I scared you. You came bursting in here all worried expecting your mom, and instead it's me. Umm, here, sit! I'll make you something to drink. Any faves?"

"Yep! That's right. Do you remember meeting Mari and Paz? That cute little Aquamarine and Topaz duo? Well... hehehe. I guess you could say they are closer than ever now..."

-Turquoise blinks, a bit shyly. She's still not quite sure how to interact. She's afraid of saying something awkward, something wrong.-

"We could chat a while, if you like. I don't mind either way, but it might help keep your mind off things. Mari likes to talk when she's anxious. Paz likes to listen."

So basically... what she told me is that she needed to ask the diamonds for help with Jasper. I assume that means healing her. I... feel bad for Jasper, even though she's said some mean things to us. We... I understand her pain... And she must mean a whole lot to you."

Uhh... My nightmares were really bad. Amethyst told me Jasper had nightmares too. I reached out to Jasper to see if there was anything that helped her. She tried to get me to talk about it... I waited a bit to long to do so... I started to corrupt... She helped me and kinda took me under her wing

"She... did? Really?? M-Mari! I'm sorry, it's just surprising...she is capable of caring for others...I know that, I know that, [sigh]. You okay, hun? Deep breaths. Y-Yeah. I'm okay. We're okay. You are okay. Erhm. S-sorry about that, Cory. It was so kind of her to do that for you, and I'm glad she did. You deserve a family who loves you. It's just... it's hard to think about Jasper without... her getting upset. They have a little bit of an... ongoing beef. Ehh, shit, crap, now is not exactly the best time to talk about this... eheh, let's change the subject!"

-Turquoise laughs half-heartedly, hoping beyond hope that Cory will talk about literally anything else.-

-binx walks over and looks at turquoise annoyed. She bats at the fusions foot-

-All of Turquoise's four eyes blink at once, looking at the kitty with tears starting to form. She presses her palms together and raises her hands up to her lips.-

"Ohh... how cute♡... and fiesty☆! Jasper must mean a lot to you too, huh? And I went and insulted her... I'm really sorry."

-Turquoise's voice is even and gentle, and she slowly leans in to let the kitten sniff the tips of her fingers.-

"Promise I won't hurt you, little one. I'm a friend."

-binx just looks up annoyed and I laugh-

I think she's annoyed cause she usually sits there. Just put her in your lap and she will cuddle

"[Gasp] Really?? Can I?? Thank you so much! She looks really soft and..."

-Turquoise's voice trails off as she picks up Binx and nuzzles her. The fur feels so incredibly nice against her face, and she sighs contentedly, gingerly setting the kitty down in her lap. She is rather big, and Binx is quite small in comparison, so she takes extra care not to squeeze too hard.-
