It was a night of outstanding fun. People sang, danced, ate, shared stories and plenty more things. While for some this sort of environment might be too overwhelming to endure for a long period of time, others for sure wanted the festivities to last forever.
Alas, time keeps moving on, despite our protests for otherwise. More than anyone else, the Endless Witches know how finite things truly are. Or as one of them would put it, eternity... is happiest when you can still believe that it's eternity. But all things must end. And we have to be aware of that.
The loud clock rings once again, as it's been doing throughout the night every o'clock. Those who have been paying attention and counting all the bells so far sigh and begin wrapping their own things. For this hour... was 2 AM. It's time for the party to end.
Just as the sound reverberates through the main hall, a cloud of golden butterflies condenses at the top of the staircase, which soon turns into the hosts. They’ve come to talk to everyone, just as they did at the beginning of the party.
“Thank you to everyone for joining us at this wonderful evening.” Beato said. “From the bottom of our hearts, we hope that you cherish the memories you experienced tonight for many years to come.”
Battler soon followed. “Sadly, even this party has to end, so it’s time for all of you to start wrapping your things up and go your way home. Those of you with any difficulties of any kind - be it having lost something, or a motor difficulty, the goats are available to assist you.”
Beato summons her pipe and plays with it between her fingers. “We understand that, being this late at night, some of you might find it complicated to leave our property, be it due to a lack of personal vehicle or simply fear of the night. But there is no need to fret. We’ve hired the service of several taxi drivers to allow such souls a safe trip home. Consider it our courtesy, the minimum we could do to be grateful for your presence.”
“We also hope that you enjoyed our Chrono Celebration thing! For those of you who missed a proper contest this year, we apologize, but we’ll try to have one for next year’s party. Well then, good night, everyone!” He pulls a finger gun. “<Have a nice day, see you again>!!”
Smoke curls across the stage as the lights come up, the faint whine of a guitar beginning the introduction to a song. In front of a microphone stands I-no in her gauzy witch costume, an all-black guitar in hand as she steps up to the microphone. Curling her fingers around the microphone, the woman leans in, a cackle fit for a witch leaving her lips.
“I hope no one’s expecting me to slow the tempo now. A long, wild night isn’t complete without some accelerando to really get to the climax, yeah~?” Her other hand raises the neck of her guitar, and the band behind her starts to pluck out a seemingly idle melody. “Hang on tight,” she laughs, low and playful, “cause I’m not going to take it too easy on you~!”
Despite that, the first song begins slow and steady, the introduction running long to let the woman with the hat pulled low over her eyes show off her skills with the guitar. There can be no denying that the woman knows what she’s doing– and that she’s more than aware of the fact. When I-no finally sees fit to sing, it’s (somehow) in even more sultry a voice than she speaks, the occasional flash of a gleaming eye from beneath the brim of her hat putting more weight behind certain portions of the performance.
From there it segues neatly into another somewhat provocative-sounding choice, which picks up slowly toward the end as she leans back a bit, really cutting loose with a wide, borderline ecstatic smile on her dark-painted lips as the music intensifies. Toward the end of the song her energy is bordering on manic, loud, wicked and somewhat breathless laughs interspersed between her vocals. Her hat slips back as she tosses her head, and she licks her lips as the music trails into nothing but the backing band. She hums as she sways for a moment, the sound barely reaching the microphone, surprisingly bright and energetic.
In the lull as the band plays, the witch hat is tossed aside, fingers of one hand ruffling her short, sleek hair. Twisted in the dark strands is a golden band, what appear to be serpents in the same jet black shade coiling out of her hair. Without the hat obscuring her face, the scales painted on it are more obvious, gleaming slick greenish-black against her fair skin. Her fingers work over a couple of the gauzy panels of her skirt and clip them to her wrists, baring the outsides of her legs up to the hip, completing the switch from her ‘original’ costume to her ‘real’ one.
From somewhere around her waist, a serpent coils its way up her torso as I-no plants her now obviously scale-painted legs wide and turns properly to the microphone, plucking at her guitar’s strings once again. Her mouth spreads into a wide, fanged smile and she leans in closer to the mic, once again laughing with surprising menace before launching into the final song. All the while, the snake coiled around her winds itself slowly along her person, at one point coming to a final rest around her shoulders, head ducking beneath the fabric of her top.
As the final piece finishes, it’s with a long, intricate guitar riff, the woman at the fore holding her guitar off as smoke goes off again.
When it clears, I-no is gone from the stage, the reverb of her guitar the only thing that remains.
One thing that Dorothea loves being is unpredictable. Though she knows that as a songstress, it’s expected that she’ll belt out notes as a soprano. But as this was a party – much different than ones held in the monastery, all stiffness and formalities – and she was feeling bolder than she had before. Bold enough to try something different.
Her costume was the same, sultry colors of her regular clothes, with a higher cut near the bottom, the behind of her skirt flowing out. It was more a kin to a cabaret dancer’s garb, and she wouldn’t lie and say she wasn’t inspired by them.
It would be her first time performing in a long time, and also performing something that incorporated much more dancing than her regular operas. But no matter, she was sure that the war kept up her stamina. Her vocal cords, however? Another story. It was normal to experience on-stage jitters, but these were overwhelming.
❝ Well, hello.. How are we all doing today? ❞
With a few cheers and one loud whoop, she laughs into the microphone with a charming wink.
❝ I’m glad to hear we’re all having a good time. For those who aren’t… Maybe my song will give you a little.. pick me up? And don’t forget to stay around for the performance after. I hear it’ll be quite a show! And you’d better end the party with a bang! But for now.. ❞
Dorothea lets the sentence trail off, her skirt swirling around her as she turns around. Now, for the big show. With her heart beating out of her chest, she turns around at the first notes of the trumpet.
With every step she took on the stage, her dress spun with her, the shimmery fabric becoming all too entrancing for those who watched. And that’s what she wanted. Those who watched her performances back at home always said they were entranced by her – and now, people on the island would soon see why.
Every shake, every shimmy, every saunter was planned, her body moving with undeniable expertise and control. After her twirls, she would release a small bolt of thunder with her hands, a physical reminder of how bewitching her performance was.
She ends the performance with one last bolt of electricity, striking a pose, the clapping from the crowd drowning out her own heartbeat and gasps for breath. Goddess, how she had missed performing. But it was done, it was over, and she had nailed it, as usual. She always was a quick study, after all.
Midvalley adjusts his neck strap, gives his hair a little flip so that this bang is in the right place and it looks perfect again. He looks out at the audience. It’s a big one alright. Without a doubt a huge chunk of Spirale. The way they’re all decked out in masks and make-up takes him back to only a few months ago when he first arrived in the city. Then, every single person or creature walking the streets could have been wearing a costume and he wouldn’t have known the difference.
In it’s own way it's almost endearing.
“Ladies and gentleman.” he says softly, letting the microphone carry the entirety of his voice. “Pleasure to be with you all tonight, what else can I say except I hope you enjoy. “
Then he turns to the band he put together for the performance, made up of a bassist and a piano-man. They're just couple of guys he met while gigging around in Spirale. He doesn’t know them on a personal level, but he doesn’t have to in order to recognize they got great chops. They know their stuff. There wasn’t a whole lot of time to practice before hand, but he’s got fair faith they can get each other through tonight on talent alone. It’s all good.
He gives them a nod and lets them start up the music.
For a short while he listens to the other musicians play off of each other, a grin stretches across his face as the atmosphere gathers steam. Already he can feel it in his bones that this performance is going to slay. Soon enough, their notes walk him naturally into the first wail of his horn. Ah, no it’s not the familiar deep sound of his Sylvia, but he still loves the way he can make this one groan.
While it’s always been easy for Midvalley to give it his all when he plays the saxophone, tonight he makes sure he’s working his new tenor like it hurts. What he’s doing is jazz, but it’s leaning more heavily on the blues side of things--not only because deep down it’s his honest to Godlessness favorite, but he knows from experience that almost nobody can deny the power of the blues. It’s palatable to an unfamiliar audience. Even when there’s no words, it transcends the language barrier between instrument and man. Everybody gets it. And no, it isn’t sad either. If anything it’s uproariously happy. It’s like laughter at a loved one’s funeral.
Tonight it’s not the smooth jazz--it’s the crazy stuff. The swing is 100% heat. This is a party after all. He throws off any air of class or he has for this one, lets it burn.
Every note that comes pouring out of his bell tonight night is raw and wild, yet still meticulously under control. When he moves it’s like the music itself is moving his limbs as if he’s nothing more than a tall swanky puppet. He sweats, stomps his feet, even bites his lower lip at one point causing it to bleed all over his shoe. He laughs it off though. He’s having a great time. So he and the other guys are a bit dramatic, but hey. That’s the fun of it. The music spills out into the hall, dances with the audience sleeps with all the ladies, comes back, freshens up, smooches the guys on the face like a cartoon character, buys them a few shots at the bar, and then climbs back onto the stage again without missing a beat. Like always, he gets completely lost in it. They could have been in front of a hundred strangers just as easily as they could have been jamming in somebody’s basement and the freedom radiating from their performance would have been the same.
He thinks back on his bandmates he lost before Knives slaughtered them back in Gunsmoke, remembers that this was the part of being a musician he loved the most. Just playing. The murder was something that he had to do to survive. And really, even that was so he could play all he wanted.
It’s a great night. The best one he’s had since he’s arrived. Actually, it’s probably the best he’s had in years.
When his time is up, he holds his saxophone up in the air and bows out.
“Goodnight everyone!” Then, after ceremoniously straightening his collar he walks off stage with the band.
there has been talk of a mysterious figure standing in the corner of the room for a while… or, at least there was. but people seemed to ignore her after the first hour. she looks more akin to a lamp post than a cryptic figure or human being. some people notice her, get mildly unsettled, and runaway before she has a chance to act. that much is enough to satisfy her, but ecaterina made an unfortunate choice. ecaterina decided that she needs to perform.
it took a few hours for her to find a good time to promptly exit in the shadows, hoping no one notices or if they do they’re too scared to say anything. crawling out of the rubbery suit and carefully placing the stilts and accessories on the side of the mansion where no one would notice is… an absolute nightmare. but the fact that she was wearing a dress underneath certainly doesn’t make it easier.
she put her violin in the bushes the night before, confident that it simply wouldn’t fit well underneath the costume. opening the case and putting on the mask before re-entering the party. cat walks quietly, intentionally arriving a few minutes before her performance is announced. she had to record part of her performance earlier, unable to trust anyone to perform the piano half for her.
after placing the somewhat small speaker from her case on the floor, cat takes her violin out and waits for silence. a tap on the top of the speaker turns it on as she immediately gets to work. the mask was never a requirement, but she so hates the idea of losing what credibility she has as a threat. ignoring the fact that her name was definitely announced hours before.
this is a passion she’s held close to her heart since she was a child. while she boasts about her affinity for horror, music is what she truly knows she was born to do. she spent years perfecting this sonata. a progression of the heart, it’s supposed to be. movement, relaxation, and joy. some pauses in between do appear as cue for applause, but cat’s music shuts it right back down the second it starts up.
it’s a calculated symphony, that ends as silently as it began. with as much passion as it was written with, albeit this is all through subtle movements and bouts of shaking from particularly emotional portions of the piece.
when ecaterina finishes, she doesn’t bow. she stands and allows the crowd to applaud for a minute before silently stepping back out. the mask prevents any obligations, any humanity, any chance that the people would stop taking her seriously. she waits a few hours before taking up the sirenhead costume again and returning to her corner.
ooc. hello my muse is probably gonna try to break into the basement bc they're a gremlin. is it possible + if it is what would they find there. n if it's impossible what would make it so n stuff. thank uu
(Hello! The basement only has a normal boiler room, which has an access to the courtyard. Entrance is forbidden simply because it has nothing to do with the party and they don't want people to spoil their hot water. There are a couple goats guarding the entrance, so it shouldn't be too hard to enter if your muse is smart enough to trick them. Oh, and lockpicking skills, of course.)
it’s been ages since she’s last touched a stage. not out of any sort of decisive avoidance or desire for freedoms outside of fame’s scope: taking risks, navigating the city, learning names that will truly matter to her even if she’s ripped away and forced back home. well, all of those things take time, and there’s a level of attention required to commit herself to such tasks, learn how to function with them in place. regardless of how she reinforces her detachment from humans, she would dare to say that this is the most human that she’s ever felt.
but this is opportunity, her very first chance since creation to do things of her own volition. under her breath she exhales a nervous breath when her mic is passed hastily into her hands, ushered out as introductory music fades and an all-too-familiar number plays. it’s with a newfound sense of excitement that she leaps from the curtains, chest thrumming when she finally lifts the microphone to her lips for the first time in months. it’s aching / wanting / needing happiness that shakes her voice, tremors masked by how loudly she speaks.
“ IS EVERYBODY READY?? ”
an arm rocks down in time with her other finger’s tutting, strumming the lines from a guitar that may not be programmed like words, but most certainly seem that way. she’s determined, eager, to excite the crowd even if it isn’t for her. elevate the mood, pump up the energy, do everything in her power to ensure that everyone else is just as excited as she is to simply be here. one head bang knocks the drums in motion and she’s singing like she can feel the emotional charge of what the lyrics are trying to say. well, maybe even just the vigor.
It’s difficult to remain backstage while Klavier does their introduction, always eager to be onstage and performing. She can’t relate to those with stage fright; can’t relate to performers who get anxious before walking onstage– it isn’t in her programming, after all. To hype up a crowd and make them smile, dance and sing along is all that she knows and the one thing she loves to do most of all. So the second that her name is announced does she rush on with a flourish, grin wide and arm waving in the air as she admires the large crowd, pleased at the amount of people who are there and watching her every move now.
As soon as the music begins does she launch into her performance, every single note and move memorized and practiced to nothing less than perfection.
Her energy is infectious, presence alone demanding to be seen and heard as she belts out the lyrics. The android is grateful that her partner ended up being someone as energetic as she, their routine keeping the excitement of the night ongoing.
The lights dim as a soft melody fills the hall, a fitting solo to warm up the crowd. After all, they’re being treated to a show they’ll never forget.
It’s been a while since he’s played for a crowd this size, and he’s grateful to not be doing it alone. While the Gavinners were fun, he’s never had it in him to go solo.
Trading out his acoustic guitar for an electric, he walks to the front of the stage. Once the cheers die down, he addresses the crowd.
“How’s everyone doing tonight?!” Another pause, looking out over the partygoers. There’s a few familiar faces out there, but the costumes make it hard to tell. “It’s great to be here, and I’m so honored to be performing alongside the incredible Rin Kagamine!”
Getting the crowd excited is second nature, and he’s enjoying every minute of it. He’s confident on the stage, ease coming from years of tours. There’s no feeling quite like it, although it’s been a long time. His last big concert stands out in his mind– but there’s no way he’s about to let it ruin tonight.
This party’s a chance to bring people together! Letting people forget their troubles and relax with good company is part of what makes live music so powerful, after all. That feeling…it’s part of why he became a musician in the first place.
The two of them planned every detail of this performance, their similar tastes in showmanship making for an incredible high-energy show. The lights sweep across the stage, and he can feel the tension in the hall building as he waits for his cue.
“Achtung! No holds barred!” He strikes a chord, posing alongside Rin. “All right, Spirale! Let’s rock!”
Sayo’s guitar leaves the crowd breathless — Aya included. As the performance winds to a close and the audience roars its applause, she pokes her head between the curtain flaps, cheering along in wonder and admiration. “ Sayo-chan, that was amazing! And you even did the vocals for Neo Aspect, too! I bet Yukina-chan would be so proud. ”
“ Thank you, Maruyama-san, are you coming onto the stage now? ” Parting the curtains, Sayo greets her with a nod of the head. It was hard to read Sayo sometimes, but tonight she looked so… satisfied? At peace? In any case, there was no way Aya could let this performance flop now!
“ Uh, yeah! I just need to get myself together, and… um… ” Snap out of it, Aya! You got this! Heart pounding, she flashes Sayo a thumbs-up and throws the curtains back, gliding fearlessly toward center stage.
“ Hey, hey! How’s everyone doing tonight? ” The microphone slides like foam in her grip. Even here, even now, the stage fright is suffocating — but she has to have faith. No matter how much she stumbles, how much she wants to back down, she’ll make sure to give her audience the best she’s got. So without further ado, Aya steadies her grip, straightens her shoulders. Breathe in, breathe out. In, and out. “ …Always vibrant with shining color, I’m Pastel*Palette’s lead vocalist, Aya Maruyama. It’s an honor to be performing for you guys tonight. ”
“ U- Um, so… While the rest of my band isn’t here, like Sayo-chan, I still wanted to share our music with you all, so… Here goes! I call this one Shuwarin Dreamin’, acapella version. Please give our song a listen! ”
It had certainly been some time since Sayo had preformed for such a large audience. Lately, she had just been preforming for those who inquired as well as her own practice routines. In a way, this was a test for her. Had her abilities kept up with the demand or had she begun to slack off since being in Spirale? She had wished for the first, but only time would tell.
However, there were already a few challenges present. It was only herself, the rest of Roselia was nowhere nearby. Due to this she had to improvise which made it a little more difficult, but she’d accept this. There would be a recording to imitate the drums and piano sections, though that was it. Sayo had decided on her own to preform her guitar and also do the vocals. This was a section she was a bit uneasy about, usually her position had been backing vocals, not the center stage.
Before walking onto the stage she made sure the strings were correctly aligned, and that all the machinery was set up. Aya Maruyama walked over, the two were both going onto this large platform in front of them all. Somehow, seeing Aya so close to her gave a small bit of relief, was this due to them being acquainted prior? Either way, their styles clashed quite a bit which might make this presentation a bit more comedic. She’d assist her if she asked, Hina played the guitar a bit different than her, but she could adapt for a moment.
As she entered the blinding lights, she planted her feet behind the microphone, guitar in position already. “I’m Sayo Hikawa from Roselia presenting Neo-Aspect.” With that short intro underway, the music began. As she starting playing it felt a bit strange, though the deeper into the song she got, the more comfortable she felt. It was as though the other members were right besides her, all playing in harmony. Sayo would often stare into the audience, however her focus was mainly downwards are her fingers striking the cords or the microphone before her. She hadn’t walked around the stage, but remained in the one location.
Striking the final cord to indicate the end of the song, she closed her eyes for a moment as the crowd applauded loudly. It seemed as though it had been a success, her skills had not been going to waste. “Thank you, Maruyama-san, are you coming onto the stage now?” She said a tiny bit out of breath, but feeling content.
It was a moment Rise had been looking forward to. Finally, she got the opportunity to perform on stage again. She had been preparing in her room for this moment. She had collected sheets of music both to practice and to perform with. She had opted to go with more of a pop style– It fit Rise’s image. She felt a sense of nostalgia as she put on her large bow, idol costume, and accessories. Oh, she couldn’t help but grin as she positioned her bow in the mirror before getting to head out on stage.
She felt a sense of comfort and excitement knowing her accompaniment was none other than the Ultimate Pianist, Kaede. Even if Rise hadn’t known her for very long, Rise could sense Kaede’s enthusiasm and excitement towards the piano. It got the idol even more thrilled to perform with someone so dedicated. If the show went well, she may even consider doing other attractions together! For now, though, Rise did her usual vocal exercises before heading on stage. Even if she didn’t have a manager or other idols to compete with, none of that mattered. Rise knew that she had to perform for herself and with herself.
With a large smile on her face, Rise headed out to where Kaede and the piano lay as Kaede planned Halloween music prior to Rise’s entrance. She waved towards the people watching them with both hands out of pure joy: “Hello everyone! Thank you so much for coming! I’m the one and only Risette!” A wink followed her words before turning to Kaede and grinning. Kaede began playing to the idol’s requested tune and Rise couldn’t help and glide her eyes towards the blonde as her fingers gracefully swept across the piano’s keys. Wow, she really was amazing. Still, it was time for Rise to sing.
Taking form, she gripped onto the microphone placed in front for her and began singing a song that brought back many memories. It wasn’t Halloween themed but nonetheless, it was enough to put someone in a happy mood! She had planned this, though. She danced around the microphone and kept her eyes forward on the audience. Rise had placed a bowl of candy next to her feet, lightly tossing miscellaneous pieces into the audience during vocal breaks. Rise always kept in sync with Kaede. The lyrics flowed out of Risette’s lips as if she was a professional (well, she was). Once the song concluded, she bowed towards the audience and waved once more. However, she wasn’t done yet. She walked towards Kaede and gripped her newfound friend’s hands. “We need a round of applause for you, too!” Dragging Kaede towards the front, she released her grip from her and gestured dramatically towards the pianist for all to see. “Give it up for Akamatsu-san! Without her, this show would be nothing!”
She let Kaede bow and nodded her head in confirmation. In a slightly whispered tone, she said, “That really was a great show.” Before exiting the stage, Risette waved once more: “Thank you for coming! If you want to hear it again and again, check out our upcoming CD!” They didn’t really have anything planned, but that was for another day. For now, Rise was in such a giddy and happy mood. The feeling of performing would truly never leave.
So today was really the time she would perform for all the visitors for the party, huh? It’s been… so long since the last time. Kaede didn’t even think that she’d ever get the chance to play on stage like that again. Even though she’s been in Spirale already for a good while, she still didn’t got really used to everything here. The hardest part to believe was, that she and some of her friends really are alive and well again. As long as that was the case, the blonde would call this place a blessing. Even besides her classmates, she met other wonderful people here, so being able to play her favorite instrument just for them, filled her with joy.
Slowly she entered the stage in her pumkin thememd gown and walked towards the piano there. That nervous feeling was back again. The stage fright, but it was mixed with a warm happy feeling as well. In this moment she wouldn’t have been able to put it in words, how she felt about the big audience, and the fact that she got the chance to play for them tonight. But the better it was that she didn’t even need to do it, then her playing always could convey what she felt better than anything she could say.
If she had to describe it, she would say though, that it made her feel alive.
Finally her fingers started to touch the keys, and as expected from the Ultimate Pianist, she started to get the crowds attention with a passionate (and also a little creepy) intro. Usually she preferred to play calmer songs, but this was a Halloween party after all. What would it be without some spookiness? The melody she was playing, sounded like a dangerous countdown of some sort. She’d play it until the pop idol Rise Kujikawa would enter the stage. After that she’d just accompany her beautiful singing with her piano.
It seemed like today, what she gathered with her playing wasn’t exactly smiles or laughs, but that her playing could influence the mood of the crowd like that, was still a very rewarding feeling as well. Getting that sort of feedback from the audience with expressions alone was something that she missed very much before..
At 7 PM, all guests are waiting anxiously. Some are excited, others are nervous, but everyone wonders what will happen now. It's only been a few minutes since the lights went off, but it feels like an eternity.
And then... Golden butterflies, just like those idly flying around, begin to amass at the top of the staircase leading to the second floor. They form a true cloud, which dissolves to reveal none other than the silhouettes of tonight's noble hosts. They wear costumes inspired by 1980's fashion, just fitting for their own temporal origin. And as expected, they start the festivities with the most iconic sentence:
The lights turn on once again in a burst, as several magical figures, servants of the Ushiromiya family, pop into existence either on the staircase or floating above it, as they bright forth a wave of applause. The spotlights highlight the Golden Witch and the Endless Sorcerer the most, as the latter grabs a microphone to start their presentation.
"Good evening, Spirale City! I hope you folks are ready for a truly spooooky night, where the world of humans and the world of witches comes into contact with each other!"
Then, Beato took the microphone. "There is no need to be afraid, however. This is an once-a-year moment, where the grotesque, the weird, the supernatural, can exist freely, without being afraid of the limitations humans bring to them. This is a night of joy, after all."
"And speaking of limitations, that includes the temporal restrictions fashion imposes to us on a daily basis. This year's theme for our guests' costumes is a Chrono Celebration! No matter whether you came from ancient times or the most distant future, show off your time period's culture and style with pride! I hope to see many people joining this fun. Ihihi!"
"Of course, we wouldn't be so cruel to expel you if you choose to go for another path in your fun. But if you have even the tiiiiniest change of heart about it, check the rooms to the hall's right, where a costume room can be found. Alternatively, you could ask the makeup crew's assistance to make you look like a monstrous being straight from Hell! *Cackle**cackle**cackle*!!"
“Beato, please, we have children here.” He whispers to her ear, before coughing and returning his attention to the audience. “A-Anyway, that is not our only attraction! To your left, you’ll find the parlor, where a karaoke system is set up on the TV. Just ask Hieda no Akyuu (@ninthmiare), who is overseeing it, to help set you up and go have fun singing your lungs out with friends!”
A spotlight shone upon Akyuu over this mention of her, as it would do for any other person mentioned during their speech. “Of course, if you feel like that is too cheerful for a Halloween Party, you can just wait a bit later. Once we hit 11 PM, Akyuu will move to the dinner room, where a ghost story sharing session will start! Bring on your scariest tales, or read some of the material provided to us by a partner of ours-” Beatrice summons business cards for Owl’s Books to everyone’s hands, much like the cards present at the gift baskets, with info about all the partner businesses that collaborated with the party. “-for maximum fright!”
“Those who’d rather partake in a more physical activity can go up the second floor, where Emma (@gracefieldorphan) and Jon K. are responsible for carrying out a hide-and-seek game! It’s open for all ages, so don’t be afraid to join!”
“And for people who’d rather enjoy tonight in a more intellectual manner, we’ll ask you to go all the way up to the third floor. A escape room game shall await those who dare take the challenge. I hope none of you will bore our dear Piper Elenmin (@shadowedstep) with boring reasonings!”
“Lastly, we shall have an ample selection of musical attractions throughout the whole party! Starting at 19:20, we have Ultimate Pianist Kaede Akamatsu (@pureryudo) and famous idol Rise Kujiwawa (@wavesang)! Next, at 20:10, we have the idol duo of Sayo Hikawa (@heroicadvents) and Aya Maruyama (@ayasashi)!!”
“Check in at 21:00 for the spetacular presentation of fellow cute blondes, Rin Kagamine (@rightreflection) and Klavier Gavin (@rockstarprosecutor)! By 21:50, it’ll be time for yet another idol to join us, the versatile GUMI (@mozeik)!!”
“If you’d rather listen to other sorts of music besides singing, just wait until 22:40. First, we’ll have Ecaterina Ciobanu (@unulales) bringing some creepy tunes with her violin! Next, it’ll be the time for Midvalley (@midvalley-the-hornfreak) to captivate us with a saxophone show at 23:30!”
“Music shall accompany us until the end of this magical night. After the stroke of midnight, Dorothea Arnault (@chanteuser) will bring us to a night in the opera, exactly at 00:20! And to end the service, we shall have I-no (@sinfoniette) going feral with her guitar! Huh huh, I can’t wait to have all of you relieving my boredom with your sweet tunes!!”
“Ihihihihi! I think we all will, dear!” Battler says amused, before pulling a more serious face. “....Before we end it for tonight, though, I need to give you folks a general warning. This is meant to be a funny evening, with nothing but positive vibes here. Light hearted pranks are fine, but violence of any sort will not be tolerated. See these?” He points to a golden butterfly flying around. “They’re directly linked to Beato and I’s minds. If any of you try pulling anything ‘funny’ that would disrupt the party, we will know.”
“And the consequences for such violations of our hospitality will be dire.” Beato adds. “We have a strong security team. We trust them to be able of handling most rumbuctious folks. If you insist on offering resistance, however, goat butlers will appear around you and immobilize you. If that doesn’t suffice, we have our higher ranked furniture, such as the Seven Stakes of Purgatory or the Chiester Sisters, to deal with such elements.”
“And if even after all that, you insist on spoiling people’s fun...” Battler raises his hand, where a small glass-like Fragment appears. “You will be sent to this Time-Out Fragment until the end of the party. It’s pretty much a pocket dimension, so don’t think you can escape if it gets to this.”
As soon as he finished that, Battler broke into a happy smile and clapped his hands. “So, I hope everyone enjoys the party! Thank you to everyone who came, and to everyone that helped and is helping us right now! Oh, and a last thing. If any of you gets hurt or feels ill, check the medical room, where you’ll receive due treatment. That is it for now!”
With that, Battler and Beatrice teleported away from the staircase, freeing the way up. They must be somewhere in the crowd now, as they wish to enjoy the party as everyone else...
(Hello, everybody! This is Battler-mun talking. Welcome to the first edition of Isolaween! Following the tradition of C*ttaween, this party will last ICly from October 4h, 7 PM, to October 5th, 2 AM. These are very special dates for the Umineko fandom, which is why the party happens this early.
OOCly, the party will last from this post’s bublishing time, which should be midnight of October 4th (Isola time) to midnight of October 11th (Isola time), unless the mods request us to end it earlier. You can obviously continue threads related to the party until then, but make sure to publish your starters and opens before end time! And remember: use the tag #isolaween2k19 so we and everyone else can see your interactions at the party!
Below are maps of the mansion, so you folks have an spacial reference on where each room is in relation to the others:
As mentioned in the text, there will be musical presentations during this period, which will consist of drabbles written by the collaborative muns. The OOC dates for each presentation is below, so keep a look at these blogs at the corresponding day:
- Kaede and Rise: 10/4
- Sayo and Aya: 10/5
- Rin and Klavier: 10/6
- GUMI: 10/7
- Ecaterina: 10/8
- Midvalley: 10/9
- Dorothea: 10/10 (Around midday)
- I-no: 10/10 (Evening)
The rules of the festivities have already been well laid ICly, so I won’t repeat myself here. Just let’s try keeping things positive during the party, ok? Any doubt just ask either me (@ingoldentent) or Beato-mun (@goldenless) And above all, let’s have fun! Now excuse me while I go download Ciconia…)
October 4th and 5th are dates of utmost importance for the Ushiromiya family. They were fateful days when all of their collective sins came to a tragic conclusion. They were the days when the Golden Witch Beatrice revived. They were the days when a little girl lost her whole family. They were the days when said little girl managed to see her family once again and become a grown woman.
But none of those things are happening at October 4th and 5th in Spirale City. The past must not be forgotten, but a truth of the future supercedes a truth of the past. If these days come to be associated with a joyful party at the city’s consciousness instead, then the hosts will be satisfied. There is no need of a massacre for them to reach the Golden Land tonight.
Work began at the mansion early in the morning. King Knight (@gildedusurper) was busy decorating the main hall, which actually benefitted from his perchant to add golden details to everything (the hosts are Golden Witches, after all). Lothric and Lorian (@ashes-of-omelas) arrived with their decorated pumpkins to be put at the main hall too, alongside others Beato made the goats carve for the main hall and the outside. ...At least the goats’ pumpkins have heart to them. On the second floor, Jon Kent (@smallblueboyscout) flew non stop to prepare props that’d make a hide-and-seek game the most interesting. Harley Quinn (@harliquinn) delighted herself at adding little pranks here and there at the escape room. Well, I guess that as long as she follows the plan laid out by the activity’s overseer, it should be alright. Riruka Dokugamine (@shouyoku) miiiight be going a bit overboard with the ‘cute’ factor at the parlor. This looks like the sort of place that’d please Lambdadelta a lot. Lastly for the decoration crew, Yomiel (@hosttrick) sure knows how to prepare an environment with just the perfect touch of ‘spooky’ for a room where ghost stories will occur. All of these people were assisted by either one of the Stakes, a Chiester or a goat butler, depending on their availability.
Things were just as agitated at the kitchen. Travis Touchdown (@suplex51) was ready to show off his skills with a couple kitchen knives and a wooden spoon! Burritos, pasta and smaller salty snacks are just some of the things he pulled masterfully. Meanwhile, on another bench, Balbok (@tallorc) was carefully decorating a portion of bru-mill that he couldn’t wait to present to everyone in party. Let’s just hope that the strong smell that and his other meaty dishes emit won’t startle the sensitive nose of one Toriel (@baaternal), who was facing the oven to get another batch of cookies out of it. The previous batches, plus other baked goods she had prepared, were being checked by Jet (@blackvwatch), who was also giving them final decorating touches, besides moving left and right to assist anyone in need. Leading them all was, of course, the Ushiromiya family’s head butler, Ronove.
Food and drinks also gently catered by some sponsored partners, as goats waited at the entrance to bring them in. Hansol Yi (@fcxrcin) was proud to provide her matcha and matcha based treats, specialties of her restaurant, NokNok Cafe. For those with a more Western taste, Reines El-Melloi Archisorte (@princesselmelloi), owner of The London Fog, was ready to cover you, for she brought classic teas like Earl Grey, coffee and some desserts she usually serves at her store. Those of legal age can also be satisfied, for even the so called Emperor of the Universe, Lord Freeza (@coldcessor) was willing to assist with the party, his role being of catering alcoholic drinks - especially the ones from wine variety. And of course, this can’t be a Halloween Party worth its name without the most important component of all: candies! Thankfully, we can count on Nicholas St. North (@odetotoys) to bring those.
And there were more things being brought to the mansion besides that! GANG☆STAR, the ever growing clothing brand on Spirale City, was gentle enough to provide some extra costumes to any partygoer who either doesn’t bring any or wishes to change their current ones; all negotiated with Shaundi (@adrenalxna), as her boss is currently out of commission. Riruka was here not only to assist with decorations, but also to bring costumes from her own shop, Atelier Softcoeur! Assisting the arrangement of the clothing space was Kanji Tatsumi (@ziodie), who will later assist with fixing those poor costumes that get themselves into accidents. Oh, and speaking of Riruka, she and Rantaro Amami (@seizonka) still have to handle makeup assistance to guests later tonight! Good thing Rantaro can help organizing the space for that right now. Last but no less important, the famous horror writer and owner of Owl’s Books, Sen Tatatsuki (@bubonem), was more than happy to provide some books from her horror collection to serve as reading material for the ghost stories section to happen tonight.
It’s important to assure the wellbeing and health of people in a party, especially one with so many guests. Thankfully, there is a medical team ready to tend to any injuries or malaise folks can experience here! Right now, the designated medical room is being filled with tablets, medicine bottles, gauze and other medical tools by Litchi Faye-Ling (@kuyuzhishi), Angela Thompson (@caducenurse), Moira O’Deorain (@bitterscience) and Jean-Baptiste Augustin (@imotel). .....Hopefully there will be no conflict between them tonight.
The technical aspect of a high production event like this is also very important to be properly checked beforehand. Peridot (@kindergardening), owner of Facet Five, is currently busy checking each spotlight one by one. I hope she doesn’t mind some light harrassing by Gaap, one of the demons under the hosts’ service. Back in the escape room, Maggie (@tragiclittlebonbon) is having lots of fun setting up the devices that must go up during the game sessions. She needs to make sure they are replayable many times. Leo Valdez (@vldeztm) is checking every nook and cranny on the musical stage set up at the main hall, so that no screw is left out of place. The computer that will play accompanying audio for the musical presentations (and overall play sound effects during the party) is being checked by one Dirk Strider (@failedprince). If he were his relative, maybe he’d even be giving his opinion on what songs to play tonight.
At last, night arrives. People begin arriving to the Ushiromiya mansion even before the alloted time. Once one enters the rose garden, they’d be able to see a couple creatures roaming around the area. Some are ‘normal’ animals. Others are fantastical looking creatures belonging to Battler Ushiromiya. Two people tend to the garden and the creatures in it: Rey (@dawnarose) and Doomguy (@painsawd). The duo is not physically similar at all, but both carry the same passion at making sure the creatures are well cared for, besides inviting arriving guests to leave their own pets at the garden during the party’s duration.
A figure waits for those who arrive at the main entrance. The Witch of Finite, Publius Virgilia Maro (@thefinitewitch), receives everyone with a warm smile, making sure to direct everyone to a seat. She gives off an elegant vibe, even though she is wearing 80′s styled clothing that only Beatrice could have convinced her of putting. Passing by her, one would be faced directly with the main hall, which is covered in decorations and tables and chairs and a stage and, of course, a painting of Beatrice herself. Every table on the main hall has a gift basket full of homemade Halloween snacks over it, which guests can take home. Those who leave the party to go home without one can receive a basket from Virgilia as they pass by her again.
Security is tight tonight. Besides the presence of the hosts’ faithful furniture in every room, some citizens of Spirale are working tonight to keep the festivities safe for everyone. Enkidu (@lancerofclay) is standing by the entrance alongside Virgilia, much like they did at the last party. New to the city and to these parties as general, Mike Chiton (@motorcitymutt) is taking his time to admire the main hall’s visual - without forgetting his duty, of course. As the owner of Sanctuary Moon Security, Murderbot (@yoursecunit) is ever vigilant, his focus being at the parlor and dinner room areas. ...I’m not sure how Ludwig the Holy Blade (@holyequine) has managed to squeeze at the corridors leading to the costume and medical rooms, but he seems to be doing his job well, so why complain?
Waiters are already serving people left and right with treats fresh from the kitchen and drinks. Koku (@looking-for-four) seems to be more focused on the main door entrance than the guests he tends to. Perhaps he is expecting someone in particular to arrive, even if in vain. Ooops, looks like one of the waiters left a drink drop - ah, it was Touma Kamijou (@illusiionbreaker). Poor guy doesn’t get a break for his bad luck even here. As for Giselle (@angelicqualia), she seems to be enjoying the chance to socialize with people and learn more about the holiday. Don’t worry, your salary for this service will be way more than enough to compensate for your uniform. Somehow, Rantaro has chosen to work as both a makeup artist and a waiter during the party. I guess only an Ultimate Survivor could pull that off without dying...
...At last, the clocks hits 7PM. The lights go out, as they’re substituted by the arrival of golden butterflies who gently fly around the whole manor. It seems like the party will officially begin at any moment...
Due to the upsetting potential that the meta like theme for our costume idea had, Beato-mun and I have decided to change the costume theme for the party. Please check the edited invite post to see the new theme!)
When the citizens of Spirale City wake up today, they’ll be greeted by a peculiar looking letter envelope in front of their residences - no matter where they live. It showcases the crest of a golden one winged eagle, a symbol likely familiar to some of them. A wax seal with a similar figure closes each envelope, as if each of them were handled with personal care.
For those who choose to open it, an invitation would meet their eyes, in which it reads:
Dear …,
If you’re reading this, you’re cordially invited to join the USHIROMIYA FAMILY at their early celebration of HALLOWEEN through a great FESTIVITY to be held in their MANSION at the GOLDEN WARD, address detailed below.
FOOD AND DRINKS shall be generously offered, besides a great number of other ACTIVITIES AND GAMES. This year, a CHRONO CELEBRATION involving a homage to each world represented in this gameboard will be the party’s main attraction, a humble but possibly fascinating source of entertainment.
Participation in this specific sort of costume picking, just like wearing a costume in general, is NOT mandatory, however. All you need to do to join us is to present this INVITATION at the mansion’s entrance from OCTOBER 4TH, 19:00 to OCTOBER 5TH, 2:00.
We eagerly await for your company.
Sincerely,
LORD BATTLER and LADY BEATRICE.
Almost immediately after the letter is opened and read, the wax seal turns into a golden butterfly, which flies around for a moment before dispersing into small, golden droplets…
(Hello, everybody! After a break last year, we’re pleased to announce the return of the newly branded Isolaween! Just like in previous editions, Beatrice and Battler are going to host a Halloween party in their mansion, lasting ICly at the time frame mentioned above and starting OoCly at October 4th 0:00 (EST/Isola time)! Why this early, instead of the classic October 31th? Well… read Umineko ;) .
The main attraction this year is of a smaller scale than previous times due to the obligations of real life, but we hope you folks will find it a source of fun anyway! This year’s theme will be a Chrono Celebration, where muses will be invited to dress up following the fashion style of their worlds in the time period they were transported to Isola from. Worlds with less specified timeframe can be left up to the mun to decide.
Posts occurring at the party itself can be made from the date above forward, with an end date to be decided at a later time. However, you are more than free to post and thread about your muse’s preparations to the party! The official tag for party related posts this year is #isolaween2k19, which we’d appreciate being used.
Any doubts about the events can be sent to either Battler or Beatrice muns, which will do their best to answer them. Most important of all, we wish you all have fun!!!)
