To Dante, watching her reaction was the best part of the night. He could easily be chatting up some girls on the side with the plan to take them all back to his mansion, but he enjoyed getting under Issy’s skin. Hell, he was hoping there was some nosy blogger ready to take a picture of them like this so he could rub it in even more. “Say please, Issy.” he called up to the girl he was holding onto, ensuring to keep steady so he wouldn’t drop her, but more importantly her drink.

“Say please?” She called out to make sure she’d heard that right, the frustration in her voice very evident at this point. She stayed quiet for a moment as she looked around the room huffing and puffing, this had to be a fucking joke right? “Oh, really?” Issy pouted at Aaliyah as she looked at the car keys she was holding. “I could just get you a taxi home later or something if you wanted?” She offered with a smile on her face, taking a drink from the glass in hand afterwards before cheering playfully as the girl agreed to stay for at least one. “I can’t believe they would do that to you, especially when you’ve come out of your way for them, that sucks.”

He wasn’t exactly the kind of person that had been in relationships. Besides Issy, he’d really only been with Candy, a relationship that only lasted as long as it did because he was younger and never his feelings run that deep, viewing her truly as a friend once everything was said and done. But he hadn’t felt that way towards Issy, there never being a friendship period before or after being together. It hurt him to break up with her and Jae wished he’d been a better man for Issy. “Yeah, I remember you getting them a few times,” he replied, smiling lightly at her as he picked up the two’s drinks, handing her the glass. “Not much, really. Just… work. You’re the one who has the interesting life, not me,” he let out with a chuckle.

After their break up she was hurt but she also didn’t feel like she had lost much. They had only been in each others lives momentarily so it was easier for her to move on as apposed to her other relationships. Still, that didn’t make it any easier at the time. Issy had been known to forgive and forget even when she knew she shouldn’t, she wouldn’t hold anything against Jae and she planned to at least be civil with him. “You have a good memory” she smiled “I have no idea what drinks you like.. is it beer?” She questioned before rolling her eyes and shaking her head “you get to work with animals all day how is that not interesting? Cute and fluffy animals, Jae.”

while claire wasn’t a big fan of pet names, she had been called much worse earlier so would let it slide. “thank you. just the one for me tonight.” a repeat of what happened at the mansion needed to be avoided at all costs. “issy. lovely to meet you.” the woman nodded. “yeah, i heard the accent, it’s hard to miss. i like it though. i’ve been in the states for a lot longer but nearly five years since i moved here.” another nod came from claire. “it does, just be careful to not get stuck, okay?”

“A drink is a drink, let me get you sorted out.” She smiled before grabbing the bartenders attention “what will your one and only drink be for tonight then? Make it a good one.” She tormented the woman playfully before ordering herself another drink ready too. “I’m a northern gal” she shrugged “you either love the accent or you hate it but i don’t think it’ll be fading anytime soon” she laughed. “Where are you from then?” she asked before laughing “well, I’m a singer and me and my girls are on a little break right now. I don’t plan to be here forever.”

“Oh, just the wholesome spilled drink kind of ruined,” James answered, his tone a dry yet playful sort of tone, letting what wasn’t said speak on it’s own. Perhaps with help from the smirk that curved on his lips beneath his mustache. His eyes flicked down once more, not shy in the slightest. “What are you drinking? So I know for reference.”

“Wholesome spilled drink kind of ruined?” She repeated with a laugh, her eyes rolling playfully out of habit before taking another sip of the drink in her hand. She was easily amused by people, especially when she was drunk. She had always naturally found it easy to speak to people even if she knew nothing about them too. “This is a mojito, I’m a sucker for a mojito.” she smiled “just for reference, obviously.”

“ oh! ” aaliyah turned her head, looking over at issy. the only reason aaliyah was at this club willingly after everything had happened as because she was here to pick up a friend. well, she was supposed to be picking them up — from what it seems like, after asking a few people, it was highly likely they were already gone. “ i’m sorry, issy. i’m all sorts of turned around right now and i think people are fighting by the entrance. ” she explained the reasoning for her backing up into her, shaking her head as she looking back in the direction she was heading towards, otherwise known as the exit. “ want me to buy you another one anyway? ” she asked, shrugging her shoulders as she looked back at issy.

“Fighting by the entrance?” Issy repeated to be sure she understood the other correctly, her words quickly followed by a slight shrug of the shoulders. “That’s completely normal back home, I used to witness people getting bottled at least twice a night and that was on a good day. Don’t even get me started on the cat fights in the bathroom stalls.” She laughed remembering the craziness back home, she strangely missed it all. “Oh, no.. I was joking you don’t need to get me a drink. You should get yourself one though and enjoy the night with me.”

Jae knew he was a more broken person than he’d ever let on, childhood trauma enough to make the idea of anything real freak him out. Being with Issy had felt real, and he wasn’t ready for it, everything between them happening so fast that Jae had poorly handled ending things. “…Right, yeah,” he agreed for the sake of not being able to leave right now. Though, he was starting to feel like maybe he should’ve found a way to go, simply nodding his head and ignoring the regret of a suggestion he’d made. Still, he moved towards the bar, making space for the both of them in what felt like a familiar setting for the two. He found himself clearing his throat, ordering a vodka coke for himself and for her a mojito, thinking back to the night they’d met. He quickly glanced at her, scratching the back of his neck. “Uh, sorry, force of habit. I can get you something else if you want.”

Issy had never been with somebody for such a short time before, in the past she’d dated people for years despite some of the relationships ending so badly. So when Jae seemingly ran for the hills it really messed with her self esteem for a moment, she knew she shouldn’t have let it get to her that way but it did. That was an issue she had to work on within herself. She knew it was awkward between them, she wasn’t stupid but there wasn’t much either of them could do right now. She couldn’t help but laugh as she watched the man order her drink and quickly realise what he had done. “No, it’s fine.” She insisted with a smile “I love Mojito’s but you already know that.” She shrugged “what have you been up to then?”

“as always, issy. you know me.” carlisle shrugs at the other. he was still taking in the fact that after such a long time, here he is, in the same room with isabela, the last person he expects to see in hidehill. well, he did see the news about rhythmix taking their hiatus somewhere in the states, and he didn’t anticipate it to be in the same town he’s in right now. of course, there was this sadness panging in his chest, the thought of how they could’ve worked, but there was just a lot of things that factored to them deciding to end things. “that’s good…i’m glad you’re good.” a sigh leaves his lips. “i still haven’t met this band in person yet, but i’m going to work on a collaboration with them. sour breakpoint, ever heard of them?”

Issy knew their breakup was he needed. He had a lot to figure out with himself and she knew the mental tole it the tabloids were taking on her. She loved him very much, she loved their relationship but she didn’t know how much she could take and if it was all worth it in the end. They both needed to go their separate ways so they could grow as people. She was just happy to see him doing so well for himself. ”Sour Breakpoint?” She repeated as she furrowed her brows for a moment as she thought about the name “Uh..” she trailed for a moment “Is that like an Olivia Rodrigo type of band?” She asked “Good 4 U you look happy and healthy but not me” she sang a little with a smile. “No, I’m sure they’re great though if you’re working with them.”
