I LOVE FROGS so frog fun fact of the day :) frogs can breathe underwater for 5-7 hours depending on species and can hibernate for up to 12 (or 13, i cant remember) hours underwater, despite not having gills. they do this by absorbing oxygen directly from the water into their skin, which gives their lungs air :3

i took my shoes off and skipped around the driveway in the rain w my pants pulled up to my knees. saw a cricket frog (tiny dude the size of a thumb). highly recommend this course of action

THERE’S TADPOLES IN MY FROG POND!!!

THIS IS NOT A DRILL, PEOPLE

I spotted frog eggs in the pond on June 23rd, and watched as they slowly grew tails, and then they disappeared. I was convinced something had eaten all of them, but obviously not!! I spotted (probably a dozen or two of) these guys tonight!!

I believe these are Cope’s Gray Tree Frogs, as I have heard at least two calling in the nearby yards, though I won’t know for sure until they’re adults.
