Do you use references for your drawings or do you draw them like, all by yourself? I'm so sorry if this is an invasive question, I know that it's a common thing, but I feel like it should be nice to draw without reference but I don't know where to start :') I would be grateful if you have any tips

USE REFERENCES!

Honest to god my art looks 1000x better when I have the latest Pinterest find pulled up in a side tab, its literally the only way I get positions 100% right and as long as its your art its a completely new image!

So yes, I use reference photos. Ive got a file of them on my tablet that makes it card to close the case lmao and I treasure them like a dragon with its hoard

also if you're doing like an action scene or any interactions really, try and find stills from videos instead of staged photography!!

the still image from a video of somebody doing the same thing might be more accurate to all the movements, their muscles getting activated etc!

Photos are still great by all means and are 100% better than *no reference*!!! but sometimes they can impair your learning since the poses are more still and staged
