I believe that kris and susies portrayal in deltarune has an element of racial allegory that i dont see many ppl talking about

Kris being a visible minority in an all monster town, being the only human adopted child in a monster family who desperately wants to assimilate into monster culture. The insensitive joke snowdrake(?) made about humans "not having a sense of humor" always stuck me as specifically racial in nature. To me this reads as "poc kid, adopted by a white family in an all white town"

Then theres susie, who is stereotyped as the violent, aggressive bully as soon as people see her. They assume shes stupid & delinquent. Shes a person who "just looks like shes not supposed to be playing piano." Her complicated relationship with traditionally feminine clothes & mannerisms. All stuff that black & brown women experience. (Every time someone draws human susie as a white girl an angel loses its wings 💔)

Moving into headcanon territory, in my heart noelle is a white passing wasian and dess was asian passing. I mean look at carol & Rudy guys. That's a white woman w her laotian husband if i ever did see it. I also like the thematic implications of noelle being able to blend in with white hometown despite her heritage, while dess was a visible "other" who didnt have that option

Have we finally learned who the three figures drawn on the card in Sans's lab are?

Noelle, Susie and Kris

OR

Kris, Susie and Ralsei

Even if the reason why Sans has this card turns out to be incredibly simple, doesn't this also confirm that Sans Undertale = Sans Deltarune?

At first, this discovery felt incredibly ironic, since for years we tried to find a much deeper meaning behind who these three figures were and why Sans kept this card in the first place. We thought about Gaster, timelines, parallel worlds, and with the release of Deltarune, we even considered both of the possibilities above

And in the end, the reason why THIS SPECIFIC MESSAGE exists on a card with THIS SPECIFIC TRIO was something as simple as a reminder to offer a discount

On the other hand, the fact that Sans still keeps it with him could be his way of refusing to forget the people, the place... and of not letting the world he once saw as his home disappear

After all, Deltarune keeps returning to the same theme in almost every chapter. Someone trying to make things go back to the way they used to be, unable to let go of the past. Only to eventually learn that some things can't be restored, and that the best thing you can do is simply let go
