Spoken like a true combat vet. People who have never been there cannot grasp the very idea. Business teaches one set of lessons - you know the ones that help the company succeed like win-win-win, sharpening the saw, etc (sorry, I had one too many Steven Covey classes). The military is all about "the mission" and everything is set up around that.

So, yes, casualty planning and its effects on the mission is something business schools can never teach you!!
