THANK FUCK
Me when I'm watching a TV show called " Something very bad is going to happen" and something very bad actually happens:
Every day I’m more and more consumed by my yearning to become an old, wistful cowboy.
a whole damn mood
LUX is a masterpiece.
THE FATE OF OPHELIA 2025 — dir. Taylor Swift
I overheard a woman at my job say "Your whole personality revolves around what you hate instead of what you love and thats an awful way to live." to the resident vocal Maga in the breakroom.
He was stunned into silence for at least 60 seconds so that was nice.
I'M SO HAPPY FOR MY CLOSE PERSONAL FRIEND CONRAD FISHER GETTING HIS HAPPILY EVER AFTER WITH THE LOVE OF HIS LIFE 🗣
I know I have moots who don’t like Sabrina Carpenter, so this is the only post I’ll make about this, but…
God I love me some basic white girl (gn) music and her new album? Immaculate — perfect follow on from Short n’ Sweet.
I'm rereading Queen's Gambit (again) and thinking about how chess is a bit like education.
When you're in university learning about teaching, there's time to look at every single aspect of a lesson plan or interaction from multiple perspectives. I enjoyed this very much. It's like reading a chess book slowly and seeing the beauty and complexity.
But once you're working as a teacher, it's more like playing speed chess for 6 hours per day. There's hundreds or thousands of moves to be made, quickly, no time for analysis.
When you get home in the evening you have two options. You can try to run analysis of the day in retrospect, which is frustrating when you discover your own mistakes and only have time to look at a fraction of the decisions anyway. Your other option is to turn your brain off and get some rest before tomorrow.
And what are the stakes? Not to win or lose a chess tournament. But the future of your students' lives.
anyway baller is too good for this stupid contest
The Käärijä/Baby Lasagna interlude, which is better than the entire evening. The GOATS, really!
