But Sweet Kisses I've Got To Spare || Eate [November 28th]
Crossing her arms over her chest, Fate leaned back against the counter opposite E. She smiled at him, because she just couldnāt help doing that every time he looked at her. It had been that way the entire meal-she would glance at him, just to see if he was enjoying the food, and he would smile at her. Her lips would crack into a smile, assured that she had done a good job that night. It didnāt stop her from checking on him again, a few minutes later. He was the only one that mattered to her; she didnāt care if her siblings enjoyed their food. She didnāt care for them at all that night. The entire reason why she had decided to celebrate Thanksgiving with her family was, well, him. Fate wanted to impress a mortal, and that was something she had never wanted in her life.
"It appears so," Fate said with a satisfied smile. He was pleased. He had enjoyed his time there. Fate had been successful. She nodded softly, letting it all sink in. It was then when she realized what he was doing. "Oh, you donāt have to do the dishes, Mister Parks," she began, moving towards the sink to take care of them herself. She was so accustomed to having others do everything for her. "I canā¦I can take care of that." She looked at him, and placed a hand on his arm. "And really, you can call me Fate. Simply Fate," she said, looking into his eyes with a warm smile.
E gave her a thoughtful smile as he unfolded his arms and began folding up his sleeves, pushing them up to above his elbow so that he could put his hands in the soapy water without making a mess of things. He shook his head when she said he didn't need to do the dishes and waved her off. "You cooked all that great food, this is the least I kin do t'repay you, Miss Fate. That's how it always was growin' up in my family. The one that cooked didn't have t'do the dishes, that ain't very fair, is it?" he asked with a soft smile, turning back around and dipping his hands into the soapy water, searching for the dish rag. When he found it, he began scrubbing the food off of the plates in the sink already.
"Well, only if you insist, but I might end up just callin' ya Miss Fate anyway. I think it's more of a habit by now. S'long as you don't call me Mister Parks. That reminds me of my pop and well..." he frowned and furrowed his eyebrows, clearing his throat before looking back up again. "But you kin call me E," he murmured softly, looking back over his shoulders at her. "Or Elijah, if ya'd rather. Not many call me that but I wouldn't mind if you did," he said softly, not exactly knowing why he gave her the permission to. He didn't particularly like his first name, but something told him he wouldn't mind it if she called him it.
