A headcanon thats been slowly rotating in the back of my mind for a while now is like.
In the reincarnated/time loop type of au... Book Rocky loops into Movie Rocky. Not that he remembers everything that happened before. Its more just an instinct. A feeling of how things should be, not specific events. Thats why he's seems to understand Grace Quicker, why he threw the first message bottle so quickly, why he stayed in Graces atmosphere longer, why he's surprised that Grace isnt going back to Earth (because he knows Grace is supposed to live) and why he's like "ha my eating is beautiful".
Meanwhile, Movie Grace looped into Book Grace, and thats why book Grace is a far less anxious disaster.
