The Byodo-In Temple located in Hawaii is a half scale replica of the one located in Kyoto. It was built to celebrate the 100-year anniversary of the first Japanese immigrants to arrive in Hawaii. ---------------------------- I've been to a few Buddhists temples around the world. I cannot wait for @meetfreshusa to open closer to home! What is Meet Fresh? It's a Taiwanese style dessert. They have both hot and cold options. My favorite is their signature grass jelly dessert pictured on the bottom. It's grass jelly over shaved ice, topped with taro and sweet potato mochi. What I love about it is, it's not overly sweet and so refreshing! The hotel on top is their hot red bean soup with mini taro and sweet potato mochi, as well as sesame filled mochi balls. I know you can't see it, but it's there.
