Hi guys it’s me I’m back with regularly scheduled content Owain au where the one of the gods (probably rogue god, in some sort of bet with the knight god) grants him his most selfish wish. To forget the pain of what happened to his family.

Owain who ends up in the Blue Kingdom in a similar situation to Shan, where he has no memory of what led him into becoming a knight or where all these habits come from but knows he must continue regardless. Owain who is so much lighter and willing to take his helmet off on occasion like Ser Bek and learns not to feel shame for his scars.

Owain who, when face to face with a horrified group of older knights from the kingdom of Walesland (with symbols on their shields kind of like the ones on his armour!!! Does that mean he was from Walesland?), can only squint at them in confusion before asking if he knows them.

Owain was the first person to ever call Galahad “Haddie.” Arthur was the second. Others occasionally called him that. Gawain adopted it to tease him, Bedivere when being affectionate, Tristan when they were messing around, but none of them with the frequency and absolute sincerity of Owain. Arthur adopted the nickname as well, not as often as Owain, but with the exact same casual adoration.

But then he lost them both. In the same night. Arthur to death and Owain to exile. And with them the nickname.

The last time he was ever called Haddie was as he was staring down Owain in the stables, blood pouring from Owain’s newly gashed face. He was supposed to do anything he could to stop Owain. But he also knew that Owain would almost certainly be killed. He couldn’t be the one responsible for sending Owain, his little brother, his cenaw bach, to his death. Even if he had condemned Arthur to that same fate. Something in Galahad’s mind screamed at him that it didn’t make sense, none of it added up. He told Owain to go. “Run. Run and don’t stop running until you reach somewhere nobody knows of any of us.”

And Owain did. He mounted Llamrei, looked backed to Galahad who did his best not to look away from the horrific mix of tears and blood h the at covered Owain’s face. He muttered a prayer to the Knight God under his breath that somehow, someone would heal that for Owain.

“I’m sorry, Haddie,” came Owain’s choked and shaky voice. And just like that, Galahad’s little brother was gone.
