Got 16 buttons with a zero latency USB joystick board all wired up (and working) with old school arcade buttons. Now just have to figure a cheat for poaching the 5v from the USB to make the buttons light when pressed..... my new trigger box for loops/samples in Ableton Live. This is the neat little LED monster I bought that is providing such awesome lighting in my el-cheapo cardboard box and crab clamp light hack. A mere 50 South African Rand. I guess that’s around 3 dollars in the US and otherwise 4 euros. A DIY or Guerilla lighting rig - a R50 10w LED spotlight that produces 80w worth of light. The spotlight bracket is mounted through a pair of slots and a hole cut for the power cable with my cheap kitchen knife, and a bolt through the bracket attaches it all to an inexpensive crab clamp. Great for film noir lighting when you firmly duct tape the other two flaps against the flaps of the box. More rigging for foot roll and hand controls needed. Also gonna make morph targets for mouth and eyelid shapes. I have been trying to build a remote shutter release to use with my collection of Canon Powershot A480 camera’s and CHDK (Canon Hack Development Kit) to do super macro animations. After initial tests tonight (unsuccessfully) and then some later reading it’s seems the voltage to trigger the camera needs to be 4.75 volts to 5v, which I didn’t have.
