Dianna Agron
We are all the best versions of ourselves when we have love and acceptance in our lives.
My goal has always been not to look forward to the next thing, but to relish and celebrate the successes I have at the moment. Whether it’s landing a part in a student film or having a good day in acting class, I never discredit anything.

Andrew knew that there were a lot of emotions swirling around for both of them. He knew Emma was hurting and it killed him to see. “I know, it’s a shitty situation,” he spoke in an almost whisper as he soothed her. “You’re allowed to feel however you feel. I just don’t want those feelings of guilt to consume you.” Luckily those feelings were overshadowed by joy and happiness for the child they were having together. “I hate how everything played out too,” Andrew said, shaking his head in disbelief. How were they supposed to know Dave had intercepted the calls and was the one to break the news? “At least it’s done and over with now. No more sneaking around or having to worry about anyone else. We can just focus on ourselves. And the little peanut growing inside of you.” It was hard for Andrew to contain the pure joy spreading across his face.
Emma knew everything he was saying was right. And as crap as it all came out, this was actually a happy time. And she wasn’t lying, it was like a weight had somewhat been lifted now that it was all out there. “You’re right. I know you you are,” she said with a nod of her head and a smile. “And i’m glad that we finally just know,” she said, her hand coming out to rub Andrew’s arm. “But I’m not gonna lie. I kind of won’t mind staying in our little bubble for a while. Like...keeping all of this just for us, if we can? I don’t know how long we can keep it a secret for, exactly. But...”

As much as Andrew wished he could stay by Emma’s side as she faced this conversation with her husband, he knew it was something she needed to do on her own. He stayed silent in the other room, listening in to every word of their conversation. When the other room echoed with the man’s thunderous ramblings, part of him wanted to storm in and put him in line as to not to speak to Emma that way. He also knew the man was emotional and his feelings were justified. The situation was already tense and the last thing they needed was for Andrew to intervene and make it worse.
Andrew heard their voices ease down followed by the front door opening and closing, signaling the man’s departure. Footsteps approached him soon after and he wrapped his arms around the redhead, pulling her close. He could pick up on her emotions and he knew that she felt guilty and was blaming herself. Her words further confirmed his assumption. His lips pressed to her forehead as he spoke softly. “Hey, shh it’s okay. No one expected for things to play out this way.” He pulled back so he could look at Emma’s beautiful face. His hand cupped her cheek as his thumb gently swiped across her cheekbone. “Everything is okay. Because we’re having a baby together,” his other hand gently slid to her stomach, feeling an overwhelming sense of joy knowing his child was growing inside of her.
Emma instinctively wrapped an arm around Andrew’s waist when he came to stand before her to comfort her. “I know but still...” she tried to continue before his eyes were bearing into her. She knew he wasn’t going to let her have this pity party. And as much as she appreciated it -- it didn’t change the fact that this moment, finding out should have been so different. But, in the end, he was right. Did it really matter how they found out? To be honest, the big chunk she’d like to leave out was the fact this baby came to be in the midst of an affair, but either way -- it was out there. It was confirmed, they would officially be starting a family together. She couldn’t keep the smile off her face if she tried. Her head tucked down to look at his hand on her stomach before looking back at him “You’re right,” she told him, “I guess nothing else does really matter now. Other then this.” she said placing a hand on top of his. “And us.” she spoke again. “I hate how all of this happened...but it’s kind of a relief, now. You know?”

Andrew stood there frozen like a deer in headlights. This hadn’t been how he anticipated finding out the long awaited news. While he was both relieved and thrilled that he was the father, the other part of him also felt sorry for Dave. He really didn’t know much about the man, other than the fact that he made Emma happy enough to want to marry him. So clearly he had to be a good guy on the inside. He also knew the feeling of what it was like to lose Emma. It’s a pain that cut so deep and sent him spiraling into a dark place. It was a wound that took years to heal, yet still never went away.
Andrew looked over to Emma. He desperately wanted to scoop her up in his arms and celebrate their happy moment, but now simply wasn’t the time. He knew there was nothing he could say or do to help the situation. In Dave’s eyes, he was sure he was labeled as “the other man”. Little did he really know about how deep his bond with Emma truly went. “I’ll let you two talk,” Andrew spoke, looking over to Emma as he stepped into the next room to give them some privacy.
The actress felt the pit in her stomach grow deeper upon Andrew’s exit. Even though she knew they had to have it out her and Dave, she wasn’t ready. She’d been taken so off guard she’d thought she’d have more time to mentally prepare. But that was life, constantly throwing curveballs. So Emma stood there and told Dave everything. She let him get upset and be angry, yell -- even if it had been one of the few times she’d ever even heard him raise his voice -- she knew he was intitled to his reactions and to feel his emotions. Especially after everything she’d done, and the way he’d found out. That would be her biggest regret about the relationship. In the end, defeated, he’d made his exit. Making it known he wanted to be the one to file for divorce. She just nodded her head, she was in no place to make any sort of fuss. And with that, he was gone.
Raking her hand down her face, the red head was exhausted. The conversation felt like it had gone on for hours, but really only maybe twenty minutes had passed. But with her emotions already all over the place, this whole ordeal had worn her out. Making her way through the house, she found Andrew and gave him a sad smile. “So, um,” she said, just feeling guilty all the way around at this point, “I’m...really sorry you had to be here for all that. I didn’t...I mean, i’m sure you know this wasn’t how I saw any of this going down.” she told him, truthfully. At this point the girl was just beating herself up on all accounts and basically rambling. I didn’t -- I didn’t even think about the phone thing. So stupid of me...”

ᴀɴᴅ ᴛʜᴇ ꜰᴀᴛʜᴇʀ ɪꜱ…
It took Andrew a moment for his mind to process what was happening. Emma’s husband had been the last person he expected to see when opening the front door. A million questions were swirling around like a tornado in his mind. Did the paparazzi leak something about them? Did he catch them out in public in a similar fashion as when they ran into Alyssa? Dave shoved his way past Andrew and stepped inside. As much as Andrew wanted to be the one to speak and possibly ease the situation, he also knew there was nothing he could say to make it less awkward or uncomfortable.
“I got an interesting message on our home phone…you know the one that I have linked up to my cell phone,” Dave began as he pulled his cell phone out of his back pocket. “I thought you’d like to hear it in person.” Andrew could tell that the man’s tone was harsh and had a tinge of hurt to it. The other man’s pain selfishly gave him hope for the news to lean in his favor. After all, he knew next to nothing about this man and really had nothing against him. Besides the fact that he was married to the only woman Andrew would ever be in love with.
Dave pressed play on the voicemail and put his phone on speaker. “Hi Miss Stone, this is Stacy calling from the paternity lab. I didn’t want to give this news over voicemail, but I know you stated it was urgent. I wanted to let you know that the paternity results are in for your baby. It does indeed look to be Mr. Garfield’s child. If you have any questions or concerns, don’t hesitate to call us back.”
Andrew’s heart skipped a beat in anticipation, not believing his ears at first as the news sank in. He was the father. He was having a baby with Emma. His dream from so many years ago was finally coming true.
Emma stood there in the entry way pretty much frozen in place. It was pretty much her worst nightmare come to life. It had never been that she hadn’t cared for Dave, of course she did. You don’t marry someone you dislike. But she’d always knew deep down, she’d been settling. And she’d been able to live her life like that for sometime. Because she did have love for him, and he was good to her. But at the end of the day it would always be Andrew in her heart. She couldn’t help it. And it was in this moment she knew, Dave was always going to end up collateral damage because of her.
Before he even spoke, as much as he hopped he’d still been in the dark, she knew the jig was up. Her hands came to cover her own face in embarrassment. The moment he mentioned the voicemail being connected, Emma knew what was happening and her eyes darted back and forth between the man and Andrew, not really knowing what to do. “Dave, I’m so sorry -- I never meant for you to find out like this,” she’s tried to say, tried to talk him down before he continued, but it was too late. He was already playing the message.
As it played, her hands came to cover her mouth and the tears began to fall for multiple reasons. One part of her couldn’t help how her heard leaped at the news it was Andrew’s, not being able to help the quick glance in his direction when it was confirmed. But the other felt crushed that she’d seen the twisted look on Dave’s face when the words were uttered via speaker phone. “I don’t uh,” she said shaking her head, wiping at the tears on her cheeks, “I don’t really know what to say. I didn’t want to hurt you more then I had to..” she said looking down until the last minute.
She wanted nothing more then to be celebrating with Andrew in this moment, but she knew she first had to clean up the mess she’d been putting off.
