20 years ago, in a cosy set up at a mall in Chennai, the flagship store of an Australian Cookie brand found themselves in a 10 by 10 space where they served customers freshly baked cookies and found instant popularity with mall-goers.
With more than 50 stores in the most premium of malls and airports across 16 cities in India, Cookie Man is now singing a whole new tune.
With more than 30 variants under their belt and cookies flavours ranging from the original chocolate chip cookie, double chocolate chip cookie to coffee walnut they arein fact known for their innovations and unique introductions of flavours and variants like Brandy Snap, Almond fingers and brownie brittle.
Almond fingers are a unique almond shortbread with real almond flakes.
Brandy snap cookie, one of their bestsellers with hints of coconut and brandy essence is a crisp biscuit thin that the team had to launch in bigger pack sizes because of all the consumer love!
Brownie brittle was when the chef played with textures of crumbly cookie and a fudgy brownie batter.

"The story behind our success is actually really rooted in our legacy. In 1950 Kevin Hicks in Melbourne, Australia discovered that his trial batch of his Grandma's cookies were an instant hit. this led him to open a store in a departmental store and he rapidly expanded from there.
After opening three stores, Kevin designed and built our proprietary baking oven that was compact and designed especially for baking delicious, crumbly cookies. These ovens are still used to this day in all stores to bake fresh cookies and generate the aroma that the brand is now known for!" ,
Interesting the Californian, the first cookie that Hicks sold in 1950,which is a cinnamon cookie with an almond topping, is still one of our best-selling variants across the globe for Cookie Man.
Cookie Man team still freshly bakes 80% of their SKU's at their retail outlets and the same can be seen (or smelled!) at any location that they are present.
They also have seen big demand as a gifting option in the Indian market where their unique flavours blended well with traditional gifting and mithai gave way to innovative, novel options like chocolates and cookies.
The team is happy to celebrate this landmark year and talks about how much they have learnt about the market in course of the last 20 years.
