Jordan was excited for Juliette to be auditioning, he knew it was still going to be a long process, she might not even get the role, but it was still exciting and he was happy for her. Of course he had agreed to helping her out with her lines, the girl was like a little sister to him and he’d always set things aside to help her out. It just so happened that he was between projects with free time, so he had more than enough to run lines with her and give her pointers.
“Alright, ready to be judged?” he asked teasingly with a smile as he lead Juliette into the living room. “I’ll try my best not to be too harsh,” Jordan continued to joke, motioning for her to sit with him and holding an expectant hand out for a script. “When’s the audition, again?”
When they had first gone out in New York Lorena didn’t think it would lead to anything, if she was being honest. Especially due to how catastrophic their first meeting had gone. Both of them thought the other wanted to steal his dog. Thinking back to it now, it was funny, but in the moment it definitely hadn’t been. Especially the headline in TMZ about her. Not that it mattered anymore now. They had a lot in common and were able to have fun together. Jordan understood her better than most. He supported her in one of the worst times of her life, she had never gone through such a fight with someone as close to her as Reign and he’d been her rock during that time. Nervous to meet someone’s parents was not a feeling she was used to, but she wanted to make a good impression on them due to the depth of her feelings for Jordan. They had to like her. Right? Why wouldn’t they? She was Lorena Knight. The last parents she had met were Kit’s and they adored her, why should this be any different? At least that was what she told herself to calm the nerves.
“Almost.” She called out, leaving her walk in wardrobe as she walked over for him, turning around to show off her outfit. “Is this dress okay? Or should I go for something more conservative?” He hadn’t told her much about his parents so she wasn’t sure. “If we are late I’ll have to blame you. I want her to like me. But we won’t be late. Don’t worry. We can leave now.”
He wasn’t sure how the night would go, simply from knowing the kind of people his family were. It could either go insanely well, or incredibly bad. There never was an in between when it came to the Sheppards. They either loved something or hated it. At the end of the day, though, Lorena made him happy, and he cared about her. Nothing someone else, even his parents, could say that would change that.
He smiled as she walked over and twirled for him, showing him the outfit she had picked out. “It’s perfect, babe,” he assured her, closing the distance between them to put his arms around her and pull her in close. He covered her lips with his own in a soft kiss. “You look amazing, but what else is new?” he asked, chuckling when she said she’d blame him. “Blame away, I do have a tendency to being late to family events, it’s why my mom gets a little uppity about it,” he told her. That and his mother was possibly a little neurotic when it came to planning family events and having everything being on schedule.
Things had been going really well between Jordan and Lorena, surprisingly well considering how their story had started. He was very glad for the developments, though. He liked Lorena, she kept him on his toes and kept things exciting. Even if her and her friends were pretty dramatic. Plus, she understood his schedules and needs while traveling and on project, wasn’t too clingy, but just clingy enough. A great balance. Things had been going so well and with them being instagram official now, that his mother had insisted on a dinner and introduction. Jordan wasn’t exactly looking forward to this family dinner, knowing something was sure to go wrong, but he was going to try to stay optimistic for everyone’s sake.
“Rei, babe, ready to head out?” Jordan called, securing his watch on his wrist before turning towards his girlfriend. “My mom’s going to be on my ass if we end up being late,” he told her. “Andy’s already dropped off the wine we’re taking.” knowing they’d need the drinks.
He had been surprised by how easily Lorena had actually agreed to going out to dinner with him, given how bothered and annoyed by him she always liked to seem. Then again, he knew he was a handsome and successful man, she had learned as much since their first meeting. Why wouldn’t she want to go out with him? he was a catch.
Jordan had already sent the woman flowers earlier, so he wasn’t about to look like a complete simp by bringing her more after her last walk of the night. Instead, he simply waited to take her out afterwards. He smiled when he caught sight of the woman, walking over to her. “I’m sure it goes without saying, but you were amazing up there,” he told her in lieu of a greeting. “Ready to head out?” Jordan questioned with a smile and brows raised.
location: ANA offices; DC

After a long few weeks that hadn’t sparred him a moment of relative stress free environments, Kent found comfort in the pleasures of working. It was nice to be back stateside and at the offices in Capital Hill knowing it would be the last time he was there. Throughout the week he would be moving up to New York and though it was a temporary goodbye to DC as he hoped he would have a reason to come back, it would be a while. There was also a recent and interesting juxtaposition with Jordan Sheppard coming to ANA at Kit’s agreement. He still wasn’t sure what the concept was other than being followed around for some movie. If it was anything like Spotlight or the sort, he would be open to discussing it at greater lengths. His morning schedule was tight with him going to the offices at 6:30am and prepped until the segment at nine. When he opened the doors to the building and took the elevator to the designated floor, he saw Jordan by the reception desk. He made a subtle gesture for the actor to follow him, glancing between Jordan and his phone. “If you’re tired, there’s some coffee over there,” he assured, knowing that it was an early start to a day though thought Jordan may be used to early call times. “The morning is busy but after ten the pace slows down.”
The only thought that repeatedly ran through Jordan’s mind was that Asher owed him big time for this. Here he was taking a day out of his own busy schedule to act at being interested by Kent Donovan’s job and life. It wasn’t that he had any sort of contempt for the man personally himself. He barely knew him past being a news anchor, another member of the society and now as the mentor of some eager initiate. Jordan was luckily used to being up at early hours for rehearsals, filming or simply to start his day with a work out. Or else he’d have been in much more of a foul mood as he made his way to the ANA office that morning, nursing a to-go cup of coffee all the way there. He waited at the reception desk for Kent to arrive, glasses still placed on his face, lowered enough for him to look down at his phone and scroll away at it as he waited. He looked up when he heard someone coming and took his sunglasses off, tucking it away for now. “I brought my own,” he told the other, lifting his cup as he straightened and followed the anchor man. “I’m no stranger to early mornings,” he informed the other with a shrug of his shoulders. He nodded slowly at the information. “So, how do you start off?” he questioned. “I’ve seen some behind the scenes with interviews, but not a whole lot of what goes into the happenings before, the whole process,” he said, grasping at something to ask of Kent. He probably should have prepped some questions beforehand, but he hadn’t thought to do so.
Lorena was hesistant in trusting him when he spoke as if he had known the dog for a while, because under her impression that wasn’t the case. She had misinterpreted the situation entirely but of course Lorena had no idea about that. “Maybe she went after a familiar scent because she knew she’d be safe here.” It was less subtle than the actions previously done, but her fingers were still curled around the dog’s collar. Not willing to let go.
“No I don’t think you are. I met the owner in the elevator a few days ago, he didn’t say anything about her not being his dog, even gave me his contact info to set up another dog play date since she get along so well with Prada, so explain that to me.” She raised an eyebrow, waiting to see what he came up with. She just wanted the best for the dog and didn’t want some stranger stealing her. Which was ironic if she knew the truth. “You don’t look like someone who names their Rottweiler Lulu. What are you trying to do? Dognap her? Take her for ransom? I won’t let you take her out of the building. I don’t know what floor her owner lives on, but I’ll talk to the building manager and find out.” Lorena thought she was doing the right thing here, protecting an innocent dog from him. Even if he was hot and she didn’t particularly want to get into an argument with him.
Jordan’s brows furrowed together into a confused frown at her words. He wasn’t under the impression that he had met the woman before, how could Lulu have possibly been familiar with her scent enough to feel safe. Sure, she had followed something to the door, but it could have been delivery for all he knew. Lulu had a very good nose for food, he was first hand witness to that. He didn’t appreciate how she held onto her collar, keeping his girl under her tight clutches. “I’m sorry, have you met Lulu before?” he questioned, shaking his head at her.
He was only all the more confused when she told him she had met the real owner days ago. “I don’t know what impression someone gave you, but Lulu is mine,” he informed her firmly, his own grip on the leash tightening. His frown grew harder as he looked at the woman, the words ‘do you know who i am?’ were on the tip of Jordan’s tongue, but he fought hard to keep them in for time-being. The fact that she hadn’t seemed to recognize him yet was enough of a pinch. Then again, she could very well be lying to steal Lulu for ransom. “I have an assistant that walks her when I’m busy. That must have been who you met, Andy, correct?” he asked. He scoffed at her observations about him trying to steal Lulu, she couldn’t possibly be serious, could she? were the thoughts floating through Jordan’s mind. “How the hell do I know that’s not exactly what you’re trying to do?” he asked, bending down enough to put an arm around Lu and lift her up into his arms protectively. “She lives in the penthouse. And if you must know, my nieces named her, and it’s a perfectly good name for a Rottweiler. I wouldn’t think someone with a pompom for a pet would be judging others’ for their names.” he threw back at her. “Let go of my dog right now.”
Lorena frowned when Prada kept barking at the door despite not hearing the doorbell ring so she quickly scooped him up in her arms opening the door to see a stranger holding onto a familiar dog. Lorena loved big dogs but for her sort of lifestyle she needed an easily transportable dog, that could sit next to her on the plane if she didn’t have someone that could watch him while she was gone. “Hey.” The first thing she noticed was that he was cute. The second while the dog was familiar dog, he wasn’t the person that walked her the last time so that was a bit suspicious. Maybe she ran away from him since he wasn’t her actual owner? Because Prada would never run away from her, he was dependant on her. “Don’t worry about it, there’s no harm done. Maybe she just thought she’d have more fun with us.” Lorena waved it off with a smile on her lips acting innocent as she put Prada down and crouching down to scratch Lulu’s head, holding her closer by her collar, wanting to get her inside the apartment to then be able to find the actual owner and let him know someone else tried to steal his dog.
“Now tell me how you got this dog, because I met the owner last time.” Or who she assumed to be the owner at least, they went to the dog park together since he was new in the area and didn’t know where it was. The dogs had a blast playing together.
Jordan’s smile turned more charming when he actually caught a look at the woman behind the door. She was hot, maybe Lulu was onto something with exploring the building. She also had great taste, it would seem. Of course she would, she was Jordan’s dog after all, a truly spoiled girl, and would naturally go for the finer and prettier things in life. He smiled when the woman crouched to start petting Lulu. “She has always been friendly,” he explained with a shrug of his shoulders. “Plus, a great nose, she must have sniffed out a friend,” he commented, nodding down towards the ball of fluff that must have been the beautiful woman’s own pet dog. His brows furrowed together in confusion as he watched her curl her fingers into Lulu’s collar and start tugging her towards the inside of her own apartment.
“Excuse me?” he asked, clearly confused by her words and shaking his head. “I am the owner,” he replied, his grip on the leash tightening and trying to tug Lulu back towards himself. “Lulu is mine. You must be mistaken,” he replied, calling for the girl to come back to his side.
Jordan didn’t take much from his previous relationships, but one thing that he came out of it with was something he actually found himself loving. That something being his lovely one year old Rottweiler, Lulu. There weren’t many things that Jordan cared for more than life itself, but Lulu was certainly one of them. Which was why he was desperately searching the building for her, after she had gotten away from him when he’d been preparing to take her for her walk. They were still relatively new to the building, she wouldn’t know her way back, Jordan wasn’t even sure if she’d gotten out of the building or not. He was more than a little panicked as he searched for her, calling her name all the while. “Lulu!” he called out, whistling for her and frowning when he heard no response. The girl always came running to him whenever he called, further worrying him. He was searching the floor below, relief flooding him when he saw her scratching at a door and barking at it.
“There you are girl,” he said, walking over to her and clipping her leash back onto her collar, “you can’t just do that, you know? you nearly gave me a heart attack,” he spoke to his dog just as the door opened. Jordan looked up with a somewhat embarrassed smile. “Oh, hello,” he greeted, scratching the dog behind her ears before standing up straight again. “Sorry, she got away from me and must have thought this was home,” he explained.

hey hey! this is super late because i got hella busy with family but then also after that procrastination set in lol. Anywaaays, here’s some info on Jordan!
his family is very old money, very prominent in show business and especially the filmmaking scene. everyone’s a director, producer, or actor. very few professions that go outside of that realm
as stated above, they own columbia pictures. they were shareholders and co-founders when it started, but bought it out from their partners when it really started hitting big back in the golden age.
he’s pretty entitled and kind of pretentious, very stuck up. Loses interest in people and things very quickly if not kept entertained or stimulated.
Trusts very few people, has a small group that he’s known for years and would trust most with anything. Otherwise it would be difficult to get him to open up and accept someone new. Would take some time.
he’s still pretty charming when he has to be or wants to be, he’s been in the acting scene for a long time now, has been mingling with big stars and important people since his childhood, so he knows good connections are what get you ahead.
although stuck up, he’s actually pretty open and charitable. always donating or supporting causes, knows it’s important to give back and help where help is needed. Likes for this part to stay out of publicity otherwise it just feels performative.
I think that’s about it for now, but i’ll leave some connection ideas below:
exes - ended on bad terms and can’t stand each other anymore.
exes - ended on good terms and are still pretty close friends.
childhood friends - would be part of jordan’s most trusted inner circle because he’s known them the longest
former childhood friends - could have lost touch or had drama tear them apart.
cousins/siblings/half-siblings - self explanatory, any familial connection would be hella wanted.
