The Met Gala is basically the party of the year and the fashion’s industry most important red carpet. It’s here that the future of fashion and it’s trends are established and confirmed for all year round. So let’s have a look at this year’s exhibition theme: “Manus x Machina: Fashion in an Age of Techonology”.
I’ll kick it off with two youngsters I absolutely love, Chloe Grace Moretz and Zendaya, but I think weren’t dressed accroding to their age. They both looked stunning but I think those dresses made them look older than they actually are. It would’ve been nice to see them in something a little bit more juvenile if you know what I mean.
Now, moving on to three styles I’m not exactly over the moon with yet still loved were: Nicole Kidman in Alexander McQueen, I LOVE the style of the dress and let’s just praise that cape for the mother.of.fashion but I’m not exactly happy about those moon figures. What’s going on there?? Other than that it’s flawless. Next Jessica Hart which I ADORE except for the shoes. They should’ve been another colour to be honest. And last, Alicia Vikander in Louis Vuitton. She looked STUNNING. There’s nothing I don’t like about this, but I’m not exactly 100% sure this was a Met Gala kinda dress. You feel me?
This Charleston styled dresses with lots of glitter in a black canvas were clearly this years favourites -as well as ankle lengthed dresses paired up with boots although I didn’t find a favourite- as we can see in Lara Stone, Hailey Baldwin and Naomi Campbell. Out of these three, Hailey’s was my favourite per usual since she never disappoints.
As for the boys, Orlando Bloom in Tamagotchi, Nick Jonas in Topman and Jared Leto definitely stole away ALL the glances. How fit does Nick look by the way?!
As for the Ralph Lauren favourites they were beyond doubt Ivanka Trump and Amber Heard. Makeup wise they both nailed it as well! #Praise
And how can we not take a moment also to adore Taylor’s Swift killer boots?! Very Bad Blood, badass style. As for what she was wearing though, with many sad emojis I have to admit I didn’t like at it all. But that’s pretty much a first since she always looks amazing!
Two beautiful women who always keep it classy and simple, therefore never disappoint are Nina Dobrev and Beyoncé in Marchesa and Givenchy respectively.
As for my makeup favourites they clearly have to be Aja Naomi King, Adriana Lima, Rose Byrne and Ciara. Being Adriana the one taking all the prizes home! Makeup 1000% on point, on fleek, flawless and not even one criticism to be made. Hands down all the way! And how AWESOME is C’s hair by the way?! Only she can rock that colour!
Two patterned dresses which I absolutely loved and that are between my top 3 best dresses are beyond doubt Kendall Jenner’s and Zoey Deutshe’s. Those two KILLED it for me!! Although I have to admit Alicia’s would’ve won for a tiny bit Zoey’s had it been Met worthy :(
As for the long tail dresses we’ve got Blake Lively who looked so good giving the fact she’s pregnant again. I mean, who can look so good when expecting a child? Only she can! Flowers aren’t really my thing but apparently this year they are.. That sort of cape on the back is just so delicate and beautiful. She looked stunning.
Next, we got the dress that EVERYONE is gonna be talking about tomorrow as of now. Claire Dane’s Zac Posen is clearly the live reencarnation of Cinderella’s dress. Right? Right. How COOL is it that is genuinely glows?! I demand my wedding dress glows like that, please, future hubby.
And last but not least, the dress that completes my top 3 and definitely my favourite of the night, another one who never ever disappoints: Emma Watson in Calvin Klein. There’s really nothing more to say about it. With just one lookyou’ll completely agree with me.
