Dewey laughed along with Michael, happy to have a brief moment of normalcy with a friend. He shrugged his shoulders as well, using the remote to begin searching through Netflix for some entertainment. âIâm sure our vocals would sound lovely together, but my voice is also not in its best state, either,â he admitted. Taking deep breaths wasnât easy for him, and that was an important aspect of singing properly, so it was something heâd been temporarily avoiding.Â
He smiled. âAw, donât get all sappy on me, Michael,â he teased, nudging him with his arm. âIâm glad weâre friends, too. You really didnât have to stay here stuck with me.â Dewey was used to being an adventurer, taking his friends on exciting journeys and giving them memories theyâd never forget. Sitting around watching Netflix all day surely didnât feel the same, so heâd been worrying that no one would want to keep hanging out with him after awhile of this. It was far fetched, but a genuine concern of his. âYeah, letâs do it! Thanks man.â He replied as soon as Michael mentioned food, continuing to search for a movie. He figured he had time to keep looking while Michael figured out what to order. âWhat sounds good?â He asked, personally content with whatever, especially if Michael was willing to pay for it. âPizzaâs a good choice if the other two get home at some point and will want to steal some.â
Mentioning his brothers made him think of something, breaking his focus from the TV and looking toward Michael. âYouâve been hanging out with Huey lately, right?â He asked, though he already knew the answer. Being stuck at home, he became hyper-aware of when everyone was coming and going at the mansion, and sometimes even where they were going and with who. âYou think heâs doing alright? Iâm just asking âcause .. after the fight and the rave, I was sorta worried about him.â
Michael looked over at Dewey with a shocked face, âYou? Your voice not in its best state? You sound amazing always, please,â he shook his head playfully and nuged Dewey, careful not to touch any parts he thought could be bruised. Then Dewey nudged him back when Michael was getting sappy and Michael wrapped an arm around his shoulders again. âOh please, Iâm not stuck here with you, silly,â he squeezed Deweyâs shoulder, keeping his arm around him as he fished out his phone with his free hand, scrolling right a way to Pizza Planet online to get delivery, âThat sounds like a great idea, on itâwhats all of your favorite pizza toppings? Or should we play it safe and just get pepperoni?â He chuckled.Â
Then as soon as Dewey mentioned Huey, Michael felt his cheeks flush a little bit and he couldnât stop himself from smiling. âYeah, yeah I have,â he felt like he had just consumed tons of candy, from how sweet his smile was, âI think heâs doing alrightâIâd tussle someone if they were making him upset, no hesitation,â he smirked to himself, âhas he... I donât know.. talked about me any more than usual?â He asked, his voice sounding a little suspicious only because he was curious, not knowing if he wanted to let Dewey knew he liked the guyâs brother.
