Wildness Before Something Sublime Leila Chatti
I'm honestly really disappointed in someone right now. It's painful when people don't realize how deeply their actions can hurt someone and then act like everything is just fine. A simple apology would’ve meant a lot, but instead, they think treating you to a meal somehow makes it all okay. It doesn't. Sometimes, silence isn’t just being quiet, it's a reflection of the pain they’ve caused.
Gil Elvgren (detail) FASCINATION, 1952
“My body is covered with wounds this world made.”
— Rabia of Basra, tr. by Daniel Ladinsky from “Music; It Acts Like Love,”
“Do you think it’s possible that some people are born to give more love than they will ever get back in return?”
— Tyler Knott Gregson
“Don’t give them a taste of their own medicine. They already know what it tastes like. Give them a taste of your own medicine. If they lied, let your medicine be honesty. If they played with your emotions, let your medicine be maturity. Don’t be afraid to be yourself, even if it means removing yourself from lives that you want to be in. You are, no doubt, worthy of being valued for who you are. So be who you are.”
— Najwa Zebian
Trust your instinct.
“I think people would be happier if they admitted things more often. In a sense we are all prisoners of some memory, or fear, or disappointment—we are all defined by something we can’t change.”
— Simon Van Booy
I'm not a whole person
I never will be
Parts of me died in the place I called home
Not a home, but a tomb
For the person I could have been
Instead of this loveless husk I've become
Angry at those who failed me
I've learned to embrace my anger
It's shown me so much
That my mistreatment is unacceptable
I deserve compassion, kindess, and love
But when you're not fed love as a child
Later you will lick it from knives
"How many scars did you justify because you loved the person who was holding the knife?"
Betrayal can feel like a deep wound that cuts to the core of our trust and emotions, leaving us feeling lost and hurt.
Betrayal, as painful as it is, can sometimes turn out to be a blessing in disguise.
It might be hard to see at first, but being let down by someone can actually lead to positive outcomes.
This experience, though tough, can unveil our inner strength, pave the way for new beginnings, and teach us profound lessons about ourselves and others.
It's like finding a silver lining in a stormy sky; a chance for growth and renewal.
So, if you're grappling with betrayal, remember that in time, time will heal the wounds, and the hurt can transform into wisdom and resilience, guiding you towards a brighter path you may not have discovered otherwise.
I love you at your best and at your worst
I love you and everything that comes with you
all your sunshine and blues,
your temper and ruin
you’re forever my best friend;
forever my first love.
“I used to think that one of the great signs of security was the ability to just walk away.”
— Jack Nicholson

“First I lost you. Then it was my identity, my last piece of family, my home. In a matter of days it’s all crumbled. I lost my foundation and I don’t know where to go when you’re the only person I want to run to.”
— #IGC
