i do not care if you like her or not but the fact that there’s a very large number of ppl in the wc fandom who find thistleclaw more sympathetic than BLUESTAR is. like i don’t even know what to say abt it
to me it’s not even a matter of genuinely liking bluestar or not like who CARES but just. like to me the fact that there’s a big chunk of ppl who think that thistleclaw aka canon child predator sadman deadwife is more sympathetic than bluestar is rly rly scary. no way i can even meme abt it like it just truly does not sit right w me at all
this drives me INSANE ... even if u dont consider spottedleafs heart canon ((i dont, since i feel its ruins what little there was of spotteds character and i dont think such a poor and frankly dangerous representation of fucking child grooming should be acknowledged)) or the fact he abused both spotted AND whitepaw by extension ((see: grown ass thistle trying to get spotted to practice dark forest death moves on his own son)) thistle Still Was Abusive. i believe it was implied he was overly cruel to tigerpaw, and its explicit that he just wanted to straight up murder tiny, who was just a fucking young child at the time ((bluefur specifically refers to tiny as "still just a kit". also note that thistle encouraged tiger to "teach him a lesson", implying he really wanted tiger to be as slow and cruel with it as possible)). its completely beyond me how anyone can give that a pass but see bluestar taking out her fear and trust issues on those around her because she was going senile and felt her life was out of her control and think its unforgivable. bluestar went thru one of the most genuine depictions of incredibly deep seated grief ever written in the whole series, and its genuinely sickening to me that people will hate on her for having mental illness but excuse thistleclaw just being scum
