yea just business rivals who look at each other like that, very normal hm?
currently watching bloody flower and hmmmmm what's with the oozing tension between cha yi yeon and lee woo gyeom or is it only me
Is it only me or is Jeong Jian rlly underrated in her own series? Don't get me wrong i LOVE Jeong Jin-man, Min Hye, Pasin and the other significant characters in the series, but Jeong Jian getting so less attention or even when she does get attention it's with her uncle alongside her kinda...irks me? Ofc her uncle is crucial for the story and for who and what kind of a person she has grown up to be but damn why does the girl have so less edits or fanfics of her? Just cz she isn't badass with a killer mindset on the first attack? bro just turned 20 daym. She still badass ash tho
The thing I've really appreciated while watching A Shop For Killers is Jian's character as a "child".
Even though she was trained by Jeonmin and Pasin... her thought process is still delayed/immature. She doesn't think like a killer. She wavers. She makes mistakes. She cries. But she's still fucking badass
I was living under a rock (voluntarily)
I KNEW ABOUT APARTMENT 404 SINCE IT WAS FIRST RELEASED BUT DELIBERATELY DID NOT WATCH IT CZ I DON'T WATCH REALITY SHOWS. HECK I COULDN'T EVEN SIT THROUGH A RUNNING BRO EP WITH MY FAV KPOP ARTISTS. I RANDOMLY CLICKED ON IT TODAY (kinda watched it for jennie after seeing her on 'the secret friends club' but fell it love with the entire cast) AND REALISED I WAS SLEEPING ON IT. LIKE LITERALY COMA-ING ON IT CZ DAMN HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO STUDY FOR MY EXAMS WHEN ALL I HAVE ON MY MIND IS HOW THEY'LL BE SOLVING THE NEXT MYSTERY RAHH IMA CRASHOUT
Why EunEun is my IDEAL "enemies to lovers" relationship in k-dramas:
When we talk about Twinkling Watermelon, we often only talk about ChungChan or Yichan x Chungha. And while I LOVE them, I've also always loved EunEun or Eungyeol x Eunyu. And so, here are all the reasons why EunEun is my ideal "enemies to lovers" relationship:
1. They're enemies not because they're on opposite sides but because they have opposing personalities. Okay, big jump but they kinda reminded me of Mr. Darcy and Elizabeth Bennett from Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice. There, I said it. This is because both Eungyeol and Eunyu start off on the wrong foot and their animosity is built on misunderstanding. Eunyu time-travels to 1995 not knowing about anything her mum or Choi Segyeong had done. And, of course, Eungyeol doesn't know that so he treats her just like how he treated Segyeong, with disdain and dislike. And Eunyu has no idea why she's being treated like this and that is the basis of their animosity and dislike for each other. Eunyu does something not knowing the impact it has on Eungyeol and Eungyeol "hates" her for it.
2. There are clear moments where each of them fall in love. Okay, so we all agree that Eungyeol fell for Eunyu first and HARD? Yeah, thought so. That boy fell head over heels for her and honestly, who could blame him? And the thing I love is that you can see the romantic tension from the get-go. Eungyeol's worried about Eunyu when she tells him she came back to khs. And he can't help falling in love every time he looks at her, even when he's supposed to be mad at her. And on Eunyu's side of the story, even though Eungyeol's done nothing but be hostile with her, she still feels her heart race when she's with him. And when she does fall in love, it's because he taught her how to let herself love again. In most "enemies to lovers" stories, the couple either gains romantic tension overnight after spending the entire time hating each other OR they never really hated each other at all. EunEun manages to have a perfect balance.
3. We can see their bond change significantly throughout the show. And this is another thing that reminded me of Elizabeth and Darcy. Both Eungyeol and Eunyu had a ton of misunderstandings to clear and communication to do and we can SEE how that changed their bond and brought them closer. After Eungyeol finds out about Eunyu's trauma, his viewpoint of her changes. And same with Eunyu, once she sees the softer and more vulnerable side to Eungyeol, her viewpoint of him changes as well. It's not sudden and it's definitely not fast but that's exactly what a good "enemies to lovers" needs. EunEun managed to do that perfectly.
4. Their differences and conflict don't just...end. This is one of my biggest pet-peeves with typical "enemies to lovers" stories. After the couple kisses, somehow all their problems and conflict just disappear and are never spoken about again. And this is the opposite for EunEun. EunEun have their beautiful first kiss moment, but they still have conflict after that. They still have complicated feelings for each other, and they still don't know how to deal with them. Only when Eungyeol meets Eunyu in the rain outside the airport is when they both face their conflicts head on, and we can SEE how much impact that has. The conflicts don't just disappear, EunEun face and then overcome them together.
5. Their pay-off is incredible and so well done. Okay, this might just be a personal opinion but, to me, the thrill that I got after EunEun becomes a couple was EXHILARATING! After spending the entire show being in love with each other secretly, competing, misunderstanding each other and even hating each other, the moment in the rain when they finally get together feels SO FUCKING EARNED. I could literally see all their past interactions flow through my mind and I remember thinking strongly that all of it was worth it. And the scene in the last episode? Where Eunyu meets Eungyeol outside the event he was playing. And they look at each other with so much love? Ugh!! That is what I'm here for! EunEun always had the utmost respect and admiration for each other, even when they hated each other, and so when they finally get together, you can't help but say, "damn, they were perfect."
And those are all the reasons why EunEun is my favourite "enemies to lovers" and one of my favourite relationships of all-time! If you agree with me, you're correct and if you don't, I suggest you rewatch Twinkling Watermelon. But this is where I leave you at (said in Master's voice)! Viva la vida, long live life! ✨️🍉
The rise of people suddenly being into kpop after hating it for years needs to be studied. Yall don't even know the impact of hyunA and dawn's breakup and jackson wang's parties. My culture is not your costume posers

enemies to lovers done right (satisfactory at least) - kdrama + cdrama
Cdrama : 1. Fated hearts : The FL (a red-clad general of the enemy country and known to be the best archer), shoots an arrow at the ML during a fierce battle between their countries/nations (they were opps). The ML barely survives and seeks for revenge while the FL loses her memory due to someone close to her betraying her and her falling off a cliff as a result (after the battle). They meet again after the battle but the FL doesn't remember the ML. BUT DW Y'ALL THE ML MAKES IT VERY CLEAR THAT THEY'RE ENEMIES. Y'all would be wondering if they'll ever be able to fall in love after almost killing each other like that. (No one sided torment, good communication and genuine healthy relationship between the leads, ML and FL are equals) [HAPPY ENDING] 2. Prisoner of Beauty : The FL's country betrayed the ML's country therefore the ML holds a strong grudge against them. The FL is crazy smart and a great strategist. She usually outsmarts the ML. In terms of intelligence, the ML does not stand a chance against her (the FL is not physically strong but she does not need continuous saving as she's extremely intelligent). They gradually start developing feelings for each other and overcoming misunderstandings and feud between their families. The relationship might feel a little toxic at some points (2-3 points to be specific, the rest is pretty healthy). [HAPPY ENDING]
4. All Rise : This drama is not centered around romance but the ML and FL do end up together. The ML and FL are both academically strong and equals. They're rivals who compete against each other in a training program for limited spots (1-2 spots) organised by one of the top law firms in the country. They go against each other at the beginning but end up allying. But even after they become friends they continue to compete with each other and go against the other. This is one of the best examples of academic rivals to lovers done right. It's criminally underrated. But if you want your drama's main focus to be romance then this might not be for you. (Both leads are law students aiming to be lawyers at the firm). [HAPPY ENDING] 3. Helpless without you/All consumed by you (vertical drama) : TW : SA, childhood trauma, toxic family (doesn't play much role in the FL's story, except for her stepfather) The ML takes therapy from the FL and both fall in love in the process but end up breaking up due to not very healthy reasons- Both the leads are psychotic and the FL hates the ML. The ML and FL are exes but both are koo koo in the head. The story is pretty twisted but at the end both of them (especially the ML) take therapy and heal from their traumas and end up together (they don't stay toxic till the end and resolve their problems before getting with each other). [HAPPY ENDING] 4. Threads of Destiny : The FL and her sister (antagonist) are reborn. They exchange their places as the bride in marriage (suggested by the evil sister of the FL) and as a result the FL ends up marrying the Prince who is uninterested in marriage and the ex husband of her sister from their previous life. Both leads initially dislike each other and plan on divorcing after 1 year but gradually end up falling for each other. The FL is VERY smart and allows no one to trample upon her, doesn't chase after the ML as she was not even interested in him at first, always resolves misunderstandings instantly when she is framed wrongfully and stands her ground. The ML dislikes the FL at first and considers her scheming but eventually starts falling for her. [HAPPY ENDING]
Kdramas :
Honestly I don't have many recs for kdramas as they don't fit the enemies to lovers trope that I want but these are a few that I like 1. Kiss Sixth Sense : The FL, the best account executive on Planning Team 1 at Zeu Ad, making her way up as the project manager, dislikes our ML as she views him as extremely cold, perfectionist and demanding. She looks up to him as a mentor but hates his ways as a supervisor. She possesses a secret superpower which no one is aware of, and as the drama unfolds, our male lead is revealed to have a secret of his own too. (Only last few minutes of the ending kinda pissed me off as they were bickering like teenagers which was unlike their mature personality and relationship throughout the kdrama). [HAPPY ENDING] 2. Twinking Watermelon (On Eun Yu and Ha Eun Gyeol) : They are the best example of bickering enemies to lovers done right. They both time travelled and found each other in the past. They liked each other even when they did not know that the other person was a time traveler as well. (Don't come at me but I honestly liked them more Ha yi Chan and Yun Cheong Ah) [HAPPY ENDING].
3. Queen of tears : The leads are already married but fall out of love due to lack of communication, misunderstandings and social difference. This is quite famous with famous actors and actresses as leads (I can't watch this drama again after the Kim-Soo-Hyun controversy tbh). Lot of angst but overall good chemistry b/w the leads. [HAPPY ENDING]
4. Doctor Slump : Both leads were very academically competent and academic rivals during their school life (the FL ranked higher than the ML). They both pursued different jobs in the medical field but hit rock bottom due to some reasons. They both met each other again while they were at their worst and helped each other heal. The drama does feel a little weak in the later episodes but the initial academic rivalry is a treat to watch as their is no hidden crush, just pure academic rivalry (especially from the ML's side who was hell bent on defeating the FL). [HAPPY ENDING]
5. Our Beloved Summer : Years after filming a viral documentary in high school, the two leads get pulled back in front of the camera and into each other's lives. The leads disliked each other in highschool but somehow ended up falling for each other and dating. They ended up breaking up but met again due to their work. (The FL was insufferable at some points but she had her reasons). [HAPPY ENDING]
5. The Judge from Hell : The FL is an elite judge with a beautiful appearance, but she is a demon. Her mission as a demon is to kill evil people who lead other people to their deaths and don't reflect on their actions. She sends these people to Hell afterwards. The ML, a detective, has a friendly and gentle personality. As a detective, his mind is sharp and he has a keen sense of observation (Source : MDL). I won't go too much into detail about this drama but this is peak enemies to lovers. The ML wants to arrest the FL and the FL literally stabs the ML (he survives dw plus she's not even a human so-).[HAPPY ENDING]
Pls recommend good enemies to lovers drama if y'all have any in mind. I'll definitely watch them after exams :D
The slump
I'm not rlly into kdramas nowadays? I can't remember the last time I completed a kdrama and briefly felt like I lost a part of myself after it ended. Every storyline feels familiar. I've watched a few kdramas this year but I don't remember majority of them, as they didn't really leave an impression on me. The one that did leave one though (and I GENUINELY enjoyed watching) is Crash (2024). Though released in 2024, I watched it this year and it was the funniest and most entertaining watch ever. Lowkey shipped the main leads and they kinda ended up tgt at the end (hinted). But it was a quite satisfying and fun watch, yall should definitely check it out if yall love cop comedy. Idk why it's so underrated. I'll write a separate post for this kdrama someday Edit : sorry chat, HOW DARE I FORGET TO MENTION NINE PUZZLES OMG?!! I LOVED IT. YOU SHOULD WATCH IT TOO IF U HAVEN'T YET
This is different what what I usually post but do yall know about KATSEYE? They're so talented (although hybe is not rlly giving them good music rn :/). Go listen to them rahhh
I love 'My way', 'Mean Girls and 'M.I.A' Idk why these songs of KATSEYE are underrated (compared to Gnarly and Gabriela) but check em out :D
flex x cop s2
so you're saying they're getting a sequel but not with the og female lead (park ji hyun : lee gang hyeon)? great news for a fan who waited for an entire year (I'm vandalizing their place they better watch out). Why produce a season 2 with someone else and change the whole storyline when people literally wanted something else and waited for a whole year.
okay that's it for my rant yall have a good day!
WHY SO UNDERRATED??
I recently came across a drama released in 2014, "Seonam Girls' Highschool Investigators" (available on viki). I CAN'T BELIEVE PEOPLE DON'T KNOW ABOUT THIS DRAMA!! This is probably one of the best dramas I've watched in a while. The drama revolves around 5 girls who create a club in their school and solve cases or mysterious incidents happening in or related to the school. I'll not give any spoilers but please give this drama a watch, this will definitely be worth your time. If you don't find it interesting at first, then don't worry; just sit through it as it slowly starts getting interesting and keeps you at the edge of your seat because every time I decided this is the last episode for the day and I'll continue the rest tomorrow, they end the drama with such a cliffhanger that you just cannot help but be curious about what happens next. GO AND WATCH SEONAM GIRLS' HIGHSCHOOL INVESTIGATORS NOWWW 👹👹 The main cast is : Jin Ji-Hee as Ahn Chae Yool Hyeri as Lee Ye Hee Kang Min-Ah as Yoon Mi-Do Stephanie Lee as Choi Sung Yoon Lee Min Ji as Kim Ha Jae Kim Min-joon as Ha Yeon Joon Jang Ki Yong as Ahn Chae Yool's brother, Ahn Chae Joon (Yes this drama has your favs)
I love the ending of 'connection' BUT WHY DIDN'T JANG JAE GYEONG AND OH YUN JIN END UP TOGETHER??!! THEY HAD SO MUCH CHEMISTRY 😭
GO WATCH IT NOWWW WHY IS THIS SO UNDERRATED!
Pyramid Game ship?
Am I the only one who lowkey shipped Sung Soo Ji and the convenience store guy (Cho Woo Ri's brother, Jo Seung-hwa) throughout the entire series? (He's 1-2 years older than her ig but idc)
FLEX X COP S2
SBS announced that “Flex x Cop” would be returning for a second season!!!!
