Ivan Latyshev

Ivan Latyshev, a record producer and DJ with more than 10-year experience. He went through the music business melting pot starting his electronic music career in 2003. Ivan grew up in the cultural center of Russia in Saint-Petersburg. It was there when he fell in love with deep house. Since 2005 Ivan has been actively producing electronic music, worked as a composer in the film industry and undertook live electronic projects. In 2008 different labels, such as Om Records, released his first records. Ivan began releasing music under his own name in 2014 with the "Simpleminds EP". Mature and authentic deep house with classic notes became a starting point of a new sound in Ivan’s music. One of his best-known releases “Save Me Music” can be called Russian house. Ivan collaborated since 2014 with such record labels as Toolroom Records and King Street Sounds. In June 2016 Dessous Recordings is releasing "My Youth" EP, that is personal in every aspect. Ivan's production style is a mix of live sounds and classic house. As a DJ, Ivan still loves playing with vinyls and he can be described as a true record’s lover and collector.

Dessous Recordings and Habit to Others “Everything” out now!

London-based producer Habit to Others (@habitothers) presents her first release on Dessous.

The Everything EP is comprised of three delicious slices of rolling deep house with plenty of flavour and a killer remix by Ivan Latyshev. (@ivanlatyshev)

‘Everything’, the title track is a tight and slick production - with the amazing vocals lending a super soulful edge to the tough and funky beats.

The wonderful Ivan Latyshev remix comes in his distinctive deep, groove-heavy house sound while 'You Want This’ hits hard - a thick punchy kick drives it along, with slightly pitched down vocals adding a menacing edge to proceedings - one for the basements.

'That Life’ - the last track on this release - sees Habit to Others pay a little homage to her garage influences - hints of a 2-step vibe are highlighted by the snappy snares and vocal loops. An assured debut on Steve Bug’s home for deeper sounds, Habit to Others is definitely a name to watch.

Ivan has been making waves over the past couple of years with his distinctive brand of deep, groove-heavy house music on labels such as What’s in the Box, Street King and Spaghetti Monster - but this To My Youth EP sees the young Russian step up to another level.

The title track shows a deep affiliation for classic house vibes, mixed with some jazzy flourishes and swung grooves. The sense of euphoria is tangible, and the spoken word vocals add a level of house mysticism that will be always welcome on deeper leaning dance-floors.

‘Can’t Go Away’ goes a shade deeper still, bringing layers of delay and reverb to the track that help shape a true slow burner.

'Old Ages’ also highlights Ivan’s love of jazz rhythms and sounds, building from a live drum break into a rolling deep house monster - it’s infectious stuff and suggests Ivan Latyshev is going to be name to watch in the next months and years.

Something interesting is going to happen and I feel it. 10 years ago I have bought a few 12′’ records by Dessous but I didn’t know that it was Steve Bug’s label. So I learn very simple things every day. I learn about life, about friendship and that life always prepares something unexpected. My conclusion is that sometimes its better not to push things.

Ivan Latyshev is making authentic after hours beats right out of St.Petersburg and we are proud to share some of this fresh artistic flow and natural affinity for deep house that he has captured right here on his latest ep for Luvbug recordings. The title track 'Save me music' kicks things off with a serious deeper groove to jack to, that is accompanied by some sweet tech vibes and organic fills and touches which compliment this production, giving it an overall timeless appeal. 'Need your madness' follows on the ep. Another strong hypnotic houser, this time brought to life through a great set of moody house chords that build right into a heartfelt crescendo of sound and emotion. Some great touches of drum machine rawness stream through Ivan's production here and this only feeds the rhythm's restlessness and propels its urging sense for freedom right upwards to the surface, to release the very madness that is brewing so closely underneath. We are looking forward to hearing these and many other original beauties from Ivan, out there in the months ahead.
