Miriel only ran a hand back through her hair as she always did when she was frustrated, and exhaled through her nose, attempting to keep her exasperation under her breath. “You do so take after your father.”
“If this mess is so organized, then, I’ve a task for you. You’re to find your axe within ten seconds. Go.” She lightly shut her eyes before adding under her breath, “and so help me, if there is any breed of insect, rat, or mouse inhabiting this room…”
A sense of panic dawned in Emilie’s red eyes while they went wide, not this again, she knew fully well how her mother got if she was proven right in the end that Emilie didn’t have any clue where her own belongings were.
“ Ten seco--!? I mean, sure. No prob. I ain’t some sloppy brat.” the teen coughed and took a quick glance to the exit where she could recall last placing her axe.
Not there, of course.
“ Could’ve sworn that..” Emilie mumbled under her breath before taking a light sprint to the biggest pile in her room and began carelessly tossing things to the ground to ‘save time’. No axe there, either. Thought a tiny little mouse suddenly rushed out from under the pile.

They also happen to be freaking fantastic to be in a fictional family with, be it as parent-child, siblings or just anything else. They also have terrific insight on their characters. Also includes very in character body language for them.
Kickass writer who’s good at invoking emotions and interest to keep the attention of the reader, and I’m honestly very happy to be able to write with them.

How many times have I told you to clean your room? Honestly, it's something of a miracle that I haven't found a new species of vermin crawling around in all the laundry on your floor. And furthermore, young lady, stand straight and stop slouching. Are you paying attention? You will obey your mother when she speaks to you.
Emilie rolled her eyes and let out an exaggerated sigh, just barely keeping herself from making ‘blah blah blah’ movements with her right hand, while her left was against her hip.
“ Seriously, mom. My room is fine. Organized mess, yada yada. That kind of crap.” Emilie waved her right hand dismissively, “ And I’m not slouching! This is slouching! “
The young teen made a point to further her slouch to silly extremes before returning to her previous small slouch.
“ See? Not slouching. “And then a small grin made it’s way onto Emilie’s lips while she suppressed a chuckle.
“ If I do discover some new sort of bug, doesn’t that make me a mom? You’d become a grandmother! Just don’t dissect your grandchild, that’s not proper grandparent-stuff. Y’know? ”
