me every single time i’m on the edge of going fully insane about a new fandom: haha what if i just checked ao3. just for fun. just to see what there is. i won’t save anything or get in too deep i’ll just do some recon. i’ll just go see. for fun
You can only reblog this today.
I missed my chance last year. Not gonna let it happen again
btw… important PSA: cutting off the mold on the surface of food does nothing. you can only see the spores on the surface, but mold itself has spread and grown roots into the food. by the time you can actually *see* the spores, that piece of food is completely full of it. youre still eating mold.
many of which are poisonous and have been shown to cause cancer. youre not even supposed to sniff it, because that can get spores into your lungs. like if you look up the health and safety guidelines for mold they barely stop short of telling you to put on a hazmat suit.
like produce is okay as long as you cut around it at least an inch, but cooked foods? you gonna die. stop eating mold people
does that include bread
Here’s the USDA mold chart
VERY IMPORTANT INFO FRIENDOS!!!!!!!!!!!!
Quality. Content.
Saw a sign that said "NYE 2020." Took me a minute to realize that it was about New Year's Eve and NOT about Bill Nye entering the Democratic primary.
i was looking through medieval drawings of demons the other day and i found the demons that make you gay

If you want to “shock your audience” maybe you should just try writing a good story.
Preach

Male authors:

"I like your mother. You have your mother's breasts."
"Her breasts."
"Great stand-up tits," he said.]
sorry I think we’re sleeping on
This author is either writing a parody or they’re an alien
this is Cosmopolis by Don DeLillo. it’s a really weird novel about a man going to get a haircut that’s also a pretty explicit criticism of the 1%.
the main character is a multimillionaire who’s so fixated on money and materialism that he’s basically forgotten how to be a normal human being and connect with people. that conversation above is him talking to his new wife. at one point, he even says something like, “this is good. we are having a conversation. this is what people do.”
I’ve been here longer than you and I’ve never seen a ghost here
The Great Gatsby enters the public domain in 2021. If at least one of us doesn’t have an unauthorised sequel ready to publish on January 1st at 12:01 sharp, I will be very disappointed.
I’m guessing the folks in the notes going “oh no, there’s not enough time!” fall into one of two groups:
1. People who misread the year and don’t realise I’m talking about a deadline fourteen months from now.
2. People who have an uncommonly realistic notion of the pace of their writing.
I’m #2
Plus I would imagine F. Scott Fitzgerald’s estate will probably renew the copyright.
That’s not how it works. There hasn’t been any such thing as copyright renewal for a long time, and even when copyright renewal was a thing, the effect of renewing was to prevent the relevant rights from expiring early, not to extend them beyond the usual statutory limit. With the exception of audio recordings, works published between 1923 and 1976 cap out at the date of publication plus 95 years – and that span is up for The Great Gatsby on January 1st, 2021.
so i could totally put gatsby into my sherlock and dracula story?
Yes, though you might have to wait a bit longer if you’re inclined to be picky about your timelines; while the bulk of the Sherlock Holmes canon is unencumbered by copyright, the last few short stories that cover the period of Holmes’ retirement – which is where his lifetime lines up with the events of The Great Gatsby – don’t enter the public domain until 2023.
(Holmes would canonically be 68 years old when the summer of 1922 chronicled in The Great Gatsby goes down, for the curious. How precisely he’d be induced to set aside his beekeeping and take a trip to Long Island at that age, I leave as an exercise for the inventive writer!)
So basically, you got fourteen months for the initial sequel and then two years after that for the crossover arc.
why did they give this line to the villain
To make it seem like a bad thing to young girls
I’m still not sold that Cruella is a villain.
You make one good point and your puppy murder is excused huh
don’t choke on the boot !
due to increased productivity, they produced the same amount of work in 25 hours as the normal 40 hours week, but capitalists still complain because they weren’t “passionate” enough anymore
“passion for the work” = enslavement of mind, body, & soul. anything less than total enslavement will never be enough for them.
