Awesome artist alert, you guys: Kevin Hong. An illustrator living in New York City and a graduate student at School of Visual Arts. Keep an eye on this one.
Do you follow Supersonic Art on Instagram? It’d be a lot cooler if you did.
Kevin Peterson’s “Sovereign” at Thinkspace Gallery.
Opening Saturday, August 20th at Thinkspace Gallery in Culver City, California is artist Kevin Peterson’s fantastic looking solo show “Sovereign.”
The Houston-based painter is known for his hyperrealistic works in which urban sprawls and rough city landscapes are offset by innocent subjects. Children and wild animals peacefully coexist as complicit companions in the detritus of stark urban environments. The poetic staging of these unexpected oppositions visually elicits powerful psychological themes. Recurring concepts continue to surface in Peterson’s work, like the perpetuity of change in self and environment, the navigation of personal trauma and loss, and solitude and the pursuit of companionship.
“Sovereign” is on display until September 10th, 2016.
