i am thankful for...
1) the US not chasing after me with the work that i know i owe them
2) eggs - for their yummy goodness
3) for some reason i thought i finished this... ok last is...sriracha hot sauce. coz everything tastes better with it.
Day 85: Dec 2, 2014
i am thankful for:
1) the silence of falling snow. makes me feel like i'm the only one in the world.
2) new fallen snow unmarred by footprints. makes the world look different, a little marshmellowy.
3) the chill that nurtures the snow. makes me feel the breath going into my lungs. reminding me i'm still alive.
Day 84: Dec 1, 2014
And today marks the first day of the final month in 2014! i am thankful for:
1) living for so long...it could be worse, i could be dead
2) today, because i got to open my advent calendar from David's Tea - today was "Forever Nuts" - pretty tasty. although not expecting the red colour for the tea...i'd buy it again
3) Advent calendars - because they are so much fun and it makes you look forward to the day! (almost)..
Day 83: Nov 30, 2014
i am thankful for:...
1) warm weather - like today it was considered to be warm - got up to 10 degrees, like woah
2) flu shots - like the ones that are for free!! really hope i don't get sick this year!
3) the fact that i live in Canada - because flu shots are actually free...or rather it's incorporated in the taxes we hafta pay. :(
Day 81 and 82: Nov 28 and 29, 2014
I'm prob near the end of this...but I haven't really fully made up my mind. regardless...for the last days... I am thankful for: 1) Friday - coz it means work is over 2) beer - coz somedays yoou just need it 3) maybe 3 is too much... sushi Fridays! Ok so like the last couple of weeks been eating with some of the girls and we have been eating at Ninki. For today, I am thankful for: 1) internet - it's good when you have it and you take it for granted. Then when you lose connection, there is just something missing... 2) Rebel Wilson's humor - she is an awesome comedian 3) Gordon Ramsey and Pharrell Williams generosity and kindness, encouragement and support. Watching MasterChef Junior and the Voice reminds me that there are good people out there...and I should strive for the same kind of personality. First, change of environment...
Day 80: Nov 26, 2014
I am thankful for: 1) since im working from my bed right now (i guess not exactly right now...since im typing here...) i would be remiss for not saying im thankful for the creation of laptops. It wis much preferable to bringing home a pile of papers to work on... 2) the creation of tablets...it is how im writing this post. Via ipad. 3) electronic productivity tools - because it just makes life easier when they work. It makes life hella difficult when they dont.
Day 78 and 79: Nov 24 and 25, 2014
awwww man, this is going to be a painful entry. i think the novelty of this has worn off, but it's like i have to do this - if only to get to 100 hahaha. but that's not the reason why i didn't write yesterday...
i was thankful for:
1) my dad - he picked me up yesterday at the office. even though it was really late. we're talking like midnight.
2) the warmer weather - it's good that it's not freezing all sudden. the weather went up to a whopping 18 degrees yesterday!
3) walk in clinics - if these didn't exist and i was only able to go to my doctor's office, it would suck. thankfully with the beauty of walk in clinics, i can bounce to the doctor's and get back to work with minimal interruption and limited travel time :)
I am thankful for:
1) that i didn't bother staying late today. no one else did.
2) that jeebs drove me home. it was ice of him
3) my mom for making meatballs and spag :)
and whoa, a fourth?
4) that my ear infection is gone and all i had was one advil yesterday :)
Day 77: Nov 23, 2014
I am thankful for:
1) the fact that i have a roof over my head and that it's warm inside. i know...now that winter is "here" i've been saying this a lot. but yesterday night, i was awaken from my slumber by at least one raccoon who was wrecking havoc on the roof of our house trying to get in so that it can get out of the elements - i do believe it was raining a bit last night, but more importantly, it was going to get pretty cold pretty soon. so hence, i'm glad under the roof instead of outside trying to get in.
2) the fact that i've stayed on the "right" path. the "wrong" path being caught up with drugs (or any sort) and the life that inevitably happens when you are caught in the clutches of drugs - poverty, life of fear, shame, prostitution, potentially early death...not that i have any friends that are on that path either...actually i take that back - there was one friend i had in high school that was doing drugs...but we lost touch before it got really bad.
3) tsum tsum hahaha - i love that game. and i have some of the plushies (chip n dale :))
Day 76: Nov 22, 2014
I am thankful for:
1) the fact that i'm not in the rain right now. it just started to pour - and it's already november, so it's been quite cold recently as well. it would be a totally miserable night out in the elements.
2) not being in Buffalo right now - they've been hammered this last week with 6 ft of snow. really happy we don't have to shovel that mess just yet.
3) the fact that today was quite a bit warmer than it has been for the last week. ma, sis and i went to the mall first thing this morn, so i was able to continue to drive my car. i need to make an appt next week to go get my car checked out. hopefully i can still drive it there...
Day 75: Nov 21, 2014
these days, getting up to 75 relatively consecutive days of doing this, some days i feel like it's a chore. those days its difficult to find things to be grateful for. and now with the shorter days and few hours of daylight, its tough to find things bright. but alas, i slog on.
i am thankful for:
1) the Ultra Light Down Jacket i bought at Uniqlo last year - kept me way too warm, but better warm than cold!
2) this Surface Pro 3 - its pretty much enabled me to write in this blog everyday. If the vaio was the only machine i had, i doubt this blog would have even started
3) tylenol - for when my headache exists.
Day 74: Nov 20, 2014
i am thankful for...it's hard today. nothing is coming to mind. perhaps...
1) family - because they are there. i just read an essay about this rich white girl living in the city i am, who was bullied in school, and then found drugs. her parents kicked her out after a decade of trying to fix her. and then they just gave up on her, hoping that she would find her own way. luckily she did, but i guess it could have just as well have ended in disaster. you never know what kind of child you'll get i guess.
2) safety - this morning on twitter i read about a three year old little girl who got raped by an 18 year old man. he was even known to the family. after he raped the poor child, he tried to kill her. the poor child. men like them should be castrated - it is just not human.
3) the fact i'm not a penguin living next to fur seals. safety again. apparently the incidents of fur seals raping penguins having been on the rise. that's just awful. this article was totally trending on twitter. young sexually frustrated seals were chasing down penguins and taking out their frustrations on the penguins. apparently the number of incidents is on the rise because seals learn by watching others. poor penguins. the worst are the ones that after getting raped, they are eaten by the seals :( poor penguins.
Day 73: Nov 19, 2014
I am thankful for:
1) our transit system for having station which provide sufficient shelter so that while we are waiting for delayed buses, we aren't standing out in the elements. today it was snowing. a lot.
2) uniqlo heat tech knee high socks - i would be pretty miserable waiting on the bus platform for the 1hr i was there without them.
3) the uniqlo hat i bought - which was stylish and cheap and kept my head dry from the snow that was falling ever so silently and steadily.
Day 72: Nov 18, 2014
i am thankful for:
1) the fact that the beginning of the 144 is at the beginning of my block and dumps me a block away from work. on days when it's super duper cold like today, it was appreciated :)
2) for the lovely bus driver who dropped me off at Bay Adelaide even thought i got off at the wrong stop. thanks so much! and thank you for coming early, and i'm so sorry that people were bitter at you for the bus in front of you breaking down.
3) the fact that the snow squalls are actually not here and are instead hitting buffalo. :D while it's windy and the windchill's pretty awesome, at least we don't have the snow piling up just yet!
Day 71: Nov 17, 2014
it's been a long and tiring day...and i am thankful for:
1) christmas twinkle lights - because they always make me feel so happy...when i stare at them. but once my eyes are off them, back to the same ol' dredge...but like seriously? how can you not be happy when you see this:
2) getting my expenses basically approved with no questions asked. my pal ninad was essentially required to prorate his phone bill. i'm like wut... as stingy as my partner is, at least my phone bills are going through with limited questions!
3) as cold as it is outside...i have a warm coat to keep the chills off and a stylish hat to keep my head dry, sturdy boots to keep my feet toasty and my butt off the ground when i walk on ice!
Day 70: Nov 16, 2014
i am thankful for:
1) the searching powers of google - i <3 wasting away my weekends watching movies - and i'm always on the look out for a great romantic comedy. with the search power of google, i was able to find/remember several movies i wanted to watch including: Begin Again and Blended.
2) IMDB - whoever created this site is genius. i love the fact that i can find details of any movie on one site. and i like the suggestions it has like "people who like this movie also liked..." with that key lead, i found several other movies i'm looking forward to watching next week: Perks of Being a Wallflower, That Awkward Moment, Stuck in Love, The Spectacular Now.
3) the crazy work that is The Princess Bride. i'm a bit of a snob when it comes to watching movies. i don't particularly like really OLD movies where production is so primitive. so i really thought iwouldn't like The Princess Bride. But after watching the Hallowe'en episode of The Mindy Project in the first season, i thought I would give it some time. i'm almost through and i think it's kinda hilarious. hope it continues like that for the rest of the movie.
Day 68 and 69: Nov 14 & 15, 2014
i was just too tired yesterday... i was thankful for:
1) friday - so i could wear jeans to work. sometimes it's the small things that make life bearable.
2) friday - because i would be able to sleep in tomorrow.
3) friday - the week was over and that was all we could do to meet the deadline. almost there.
as for today....i am thankful for:
1) saturday - means $7 parking downtown in my building
2) saturday - means i can drive my car!
3) saturday - because tomorrow is sunday and i could potentially don't have to do anything.
Day 67: Nov 13, 2014
I am thankful for:
1) the huge Benedict Cumberbatch that greeted me when i logged into Tumblr.
wish it wasn't a gif. anyway, apparently he'll be answering questions on Dreamworks' tumblr page. and i'm so very sad that he's engaged now :(
2) that i work in Toronto instead of New York now. hahahah, there's mandatory 55 hr weeks now! good grief. basically everyone is saying that's almost impossible to do. I understand working long hours. it's one thing to do it when you're volunteering, but it's another thing when it's mandatory. how does that motivate anyone to continue. but i guess it's the same when "upper management" here goes and tells us that everyone, including partners, need to be 80% chargeable.
3) everyday - because it's one more day closer to when i take possession of my condo!
